Another pet peeve: one diner is finished with their meal and they come to clear dishes while the other person is still eating. This was not necessary; there was no wait and the place was at least half empty. Haven't experienced this at Tavery before and hope this was a one time off afternoon. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. No one expects a baby to stay silent the entire time, and a few minutes of crying shouldn't result in customers being treated like they did something wrong. Situations like this say a lot about how a business treats people. Instead of patience or compassion, they chose embarrassment and exclusion. Definitely not the kind of place I'd recommend if you're looking for a friendly, family-friendly environment.
