Palabok was good. Beef soup was good too. We enjoyed the food. We ordered takeout and it was easy. They were nice enough that they let us pickup the order before they closed. We were driving over when we called in since we wanted to try it since we were in the area.

The service was great. It was fast and they did not take a long time to bring the food out. They were very attentive and checked in periodically. The food was okay. For my first time, I enjoyed it. The shrimp and rice noodles were a bit tangy but with the mix of the chili sauce and lemon it gave good flavor. Very quiet when we first walked in but started to buzz with people after 5. Seems like a great place to sit and have a nice small dinner with friends.

Lumpia pork, 18 pieces ($17) - solid and good

I'd been wanting to check out this place for years! My partner and I got takeout. It was sadly fairly empty on an early weekend evening. It was hard to find a menu online, but Yelp helped a bunch there! And Google, frankly, to get some descriptions. We liked everything we got, though we felt it was a little pricey for what it was. We really liked the Sisig. I've never had anything like it, and it was flavorful without being heavy. The lumpia were a great addition. I would order anything we got again, though there was much on the menu we wanted to try, that we'd need to try more dishes!

I have had my eye on this restaurant for some time now but having picky friends has caused my delay but we finally made it!! I have my knowledge about Filipino cuisine so I was super excited to indulge! We started off with of course the delicious Lumpia!! 18 pieces to be exact! While we first initially thought that would be too much we polished it off! They are perfectly crispy and flavorful. I love the burnt ends adds for a more depth in flavor. For our entree we got the Chicken Adobo (classic) and the Lechon. Both came with white rice. The chicken adobo was fantastic! The flavors were amazing and the chicken just fell right off the bone. I just wish it was a bit saucier. As for the lechon it was perfectly crispy. Wish it came with some dipping sauce component though. To wash everything down we got calamansi juice which tasted like lemonade but wayyyyy better. But what I was most excited for was dessert!!! I have always wanted to try Halo Halo and was even more excited to see that they had an Ube flavor! What a crazy texture experience it was! The shaved ice, the ube puree, the ice cream, the jellies and then BEANS!!! Yes you heard that right there was white beans in my dessert! I definitely did not like that though because the skin on the bean gets hard when it sits in the shaved ice so I was sure to whisk those away. But that ube flavor is just sooo good I was so full but could not stop sneaking my "last bite". We also got the Turon and as a Latina I always love my maduros (ripened plantain) so having them fried was pure perfection.

I came across on yelp when I was looking for a place by Yonkers. To my surprise that there was a Filipino restaurant I just had to try it. I brought a friend and we met here for lunch. The place was a very modest low-key setting. It feels like a mom's dining room. We picked a table and sat down. Immediately the waiter brought menus and ask us if we would like drinks. We quickly placed our order and patiently waited. The food came out piping hot and everything was delicious. I had ordered the vegetable fritter but we got vegetable lumpia. Not sure where the error lies, but decided to keep it and eat it. We also asked for a side of stir fried vegetables since everything was saucy or fried. The chef accommodated. Overall the food were authentic and full of flavor. We end the meal skating halo halo which was ube galore and a must. Without a doubt definitely coming back to try other dishes. You will enjoy it!

Finally came back to this place on our way back to CT from JFK. Parking was plenty.. one great thing of coming here. Food was just as good as I remembered. Enjoyed the liempo and the bulalo, but for the price you pay they were skimpy on veggies. BF loved the chicken bbq.. and the sisig was okay for me. Not the kind of sisig I really want, made of pork jowl and ears. Service was friendly and attentive. But, the price of food from 3 years ago, nearly doubled. Expensive for Filipino food, but that's the cost you pay for not going to queens looking for street parking.

Not bad. This was my second visit, the first one was a complete disappointment. I guess they found their groove. The BBQ portion was generous and flavor was not bad. They served the meat with delicious sweet vinegar!! The sweetness from the BBQ was perfectly balanced by the asim from the suka. I wish they seared the meat some more. It was also a bit rubbery. It seemed like my serving was reheated so it was a bit dry too. Chicken Inasal was very flavorful and that portion was also generous. It was served with perfectly balanced toyo and calamansi sawsaw. I had the passionfruit drink which was very expensive and tasted like it was poured from a bottle they bought at HMart. Service was attentive. Parking was free, easy, and convenient.

Service was friendly, and the food came out fresh and tasty. We tried the Laing today which was great. The pork sisig is consistently fantastic, and the Halo Halo is huge, so definitely bring a friend to share. Not a huge amount of seating space, but they have long tables for larger parties. The bathroom is incredibly clean. Would definitely return to try more things from the menu.

    Ube halo halo

Service was nice the food is amazing. We came for our anniversary my Mexican boyfriend liked the food everything was so tasteful

Fantastic service here - and quite unique! Filipino food? Very interesting blend of culinary disciplines. Pretty sure I had the "Adobong" which is apparently the "Filipino National Dish." It sounded serious, so I ordered it, and it seriously packed a Pacquiao punch.

I like the food at this place. My friends and I went for lunch and had the bilao, fried bangus with egg and garlic rice, longganiza with egg and garlic rice, ukoy, fresh home made wrapper lumpia, and their latest Pandan halo halo. The service is good and all servers are polite. Bathroom is also very clean. What a wonderful bright space to eat. They are now open for lunch! Eating here is like eating at home away from home.

If I order the Sisig for take out, will they cook the egg before they package it? Thank you

I suggest you call them directly. When we ordered it the eggs were runny. I'm assuming that's the dish. Sorry I can't help more.

I recently stopped by Karenderya in Nyack looking for some good Asian comfort food, and it definitely hit the spot. Known for delicious, made-from-scratch dishes, they were flavorful, fresh, and clearly cooked with care. The menu offers a wonderful introduction to Filipino cuisine, with hearty, satisfying dishes that feel comforting, taste scrumptious, and speaking for myself - as I rarely go to Filipino eateries due to my location, unique. The cashier/waitress was attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout my visit. While the atmosphere is fairly simple and not really the reason to come here, the focus is clearly on the food, and that's where Karenderya shines. This is an excellent option for takeout, and many of the dishes would be perfect to bring to a potluck or family gathering. Despite Nyack's often challenging parking situation, I found parking easy enough nearby, which was a pleasant surprise. Service can be slow when crowded, be forwarned. The restaurant is cantina style so you order what you want and they pack it for you. I go there specifically for their "breakfast all day" deal, which includes garlic fried rice, 2 eggs, and your choice of protein/dish, along with a bottle of water for - guess how much?! - $11 cash or you could pay with a credit card with the additional 3% credit card fee. But you get sooooo much food! I couldn't finish everything, so I had to take the rest home. I usually get the longsilog, which is a sweet and savory sausage. Soooo good! When I went this time, I decided to try their tapsilog (marinated beef which is also sweet and savory) and that was delicious, too. My mouth is watering thinking about the meal I had there. Next time, I do also want to try the daingsilog, which is the dried fish. I love Filipino dried fish but not the fish afterwards when I cook it at home, so this is a good place to get this if you want it. If you love Filipino food or want to try Filipino food, this is definitely the place. Again, super sweet people who work there and all their customers are super nice, too. This is the place that everyone seems to stop by for a quick and filling and delicious meal either to take home or eat there. It got pretty busy after I sat down to eat. There are other Filipino restaurants in Bergenfield but I personally like this place because it's simple, authentic, home-cooked food, and it's cantina style, so it's not overpriced. There are sit down Filipino restaurants but they are more expensive with different but they do have more extensive menus. So, it's up to you what kind of dining experience you want. Things to know before you go: -They do have other proteins/dishes other than what is on the menu, so definitely ask if they have anything else they would recommend. -Don't forget to get some vinegar from the big jug to dip your protein in. Elevates the umami of your food! They have condiment cups at the counter for you to get your vinegar to eat there or to take home. -When you order, they simply give you the food and you have to grab your own utensils and napkins which are at the counter. -I also got some Shanghai lumpia, too, and they are 50 cents each. Theirs are really good! -They also have bubble tea. -Seating is limited, so if you are a big group, it might not be possible for everyone to sit, so plan accordingly. Maybe get it to go and eat at someone's house or the park?
