I was dying to get pandan waffles somewhere in Omaha and luckily, after a brief hiatus, Yumchaa Tea Shop recently reopened! I got the Kumquat Oolong tea with mango popping bobas. The tea was delicious and so was the pandan waffle! And very affordable too! The place is medium sized and great for bringing a couple of friends. It also has an area for board games. Hopefully this will get put to good use once the COVID-19 situation gets better. In the meantime, it is a excellent choice for bubble tea, fruit tea and iced vietnamese coffee! read more

The drinks we got were the Hanti Red Tea and Winter Melon Milk Tea. The flavor was great but when you pay extra for tapioca pearls and they give you maybe..20 pearls it is disappointing. Also the wait was very long, they only had 1 person taking orders AND making the orders which made us wait over 30 minutes. We would come back but I'd definitely ask them to give more pearls for what I paid. read more

Since when is it okay for animals to freely roam dining establishments? And no, these aren't service animals. I've been coming to this place for ages (and have the reward points to prove it) and it's always been clean and pet-free with quick service. During my most recent visit, there were no less than four dogs casually rolling on the floors. I almost tripped over one of them! They also need to get their act together in terms of preparing the drinks. They're so casual about the fact that people should wait "at least 30 minutes" for the boba to be cooked. That's just poor planning on their part. It makes no sense for a boba place to not have the boba/tapioca ready-made. I really don't mean to sound like a Karen. Like I said, I'm been here countless times and have many great experiences. But my most recent visits make me think this place has gone downhill. read more

This place was so cute! I got a caramel milk boba and it tasted good and the boba was perfectly gooey and chewy. They had lots of options for boba, and they had at least one food option in addition. They were also playing good music so that's always nice. There were a couple games out for people to play with too so it seems like this place is also good for a chill evening with friends or family. The lady helping was really nice, prices are good. The actual building felt very hot an humid. The service took forever we were waiting for over 15 minutes for 2 drinks. Me and some friends often visit and we normally get in and out in around ten ish minutes. Today we noticed while the lobby was pretty full only a handful had their drinks after what looked like they were waiting a while. I'd recommend pairing your insta-worthy boba tea with a delectable panda waffle. Yumchaa gives you the option of choosing both ice and sugar level in each tea. Many options and toppings are available (including cream cheese and my personal fav, popping boba). The atmosphere of the shop does leave a bit to be desired. read more

I love stopping by this little shop. The service is friendly and there are a wide variety of tea based drinks to choose from. The taro with crystal boba is probably my favorite so far. I look forward to trying some of the fruit based teas next. They also have Vietnamese coffee, which I've had a couple of times. The first visit I ordered a fruit tea "T1" I asked the lady for very light ice since its a cold pressed juice kind of drink, the cup come out half full of ice. I figure I give them another try. This time I ordered the same drink again and asked for " NO ICE". Surprisingly the drink come out half full. Totally Disappointed! There seems to be many bubble tea places popping up around Omaha these days, but in my opinion Yumchaa is one of the best so far! The drink menu is simple, but you are able to customize levels of sugar and ice to your taste which is a plus! I got an Earl Grey with 50% sugar and less ice, and it was perfectly sweet and clean tasting. They also have the softest tapioca bubbles I have tried so far! I ordered a few drinks for take out for my kids. Mango, matcha and taro were my favorite flavor as always. Their ice cream is very good as well. Love this new bubble tea place. Very clean and a great variety of drinks. I go back a forth from milk tea or just a nice sweet tea. Great thing about Yumchaa is that you can customized your sugar level so it doesn't have to be so sweet; like 25%, 50%, 75%. I normally do 75% or 50% since I don't want my tea that sweet. They offer your common milk tea flavors in addition to fruit teas ,slushies and Vietnamese coffee . There is also a variety of toppings (taro pudding yum!!!)I like that they also have a dessert option. I ordered the Brown Sugar Fresh Milk, it came with crystal boba and was quite good. Yeah, one could order your standard Taro slushy with tapioca bobas. But this place has a few differences than some of the others: (1) They also offer a egg or taro pudding, and a different kind of boba pearl... along with your garden variety jelly or tapioca boba. (2) You can pick your sweetness level: 0% - 100%. "Normal" is 50%-75%. (3) They have a pandan dessert. I haven't tried it yet, but I look forward to it since not many places in Omaha serve that. Pandan is a common south/southeast Asian plant that when prepared it has an almond/vanilla taste. Mmmm. The place was clean; well decorated; and handicap accessible. It's tucked waaaay in the corner of the plaza but there was a consistent flow of traffic in and out so it looks like people are finding it just fine. I'll definitely go back. read more

I have been here a handful of times, always good drinks and food. The staff are not very friendly, the ice machine was broken (how are you going to own a drink business with no ice?) Blender was broken on multiple occasions, so only half the menu was available. Having to call a restaurant to make sure they have working machines is not a place I would recommend. Staff barely picks up the phone, and when visiting today no one was inside. Saw a worker walk in, turn around and lock it up again. Multiple people were walking up and looking through the windows. If you're leaving the store unattended during business hours, please leave a note or advertise on your website what hours you will be open. read more

It's so awesome that there are so many new boba shops opening up in Omaha, that I don't know which one to try first! By far the best spot to get boba in omaha, hands down. My typical order is the yumchaa milk tea with tapioca pearls (boba) with 50% sweetness. It is consistent every time. The tea has a chocolate essence to it. Yumchaa is good compared to other boba shops because the boba is cooked to perfection; most other spots nearby consistently have hard, old boba. While the wait can be a bit long at times, it is well worth it. The man who typically works is very kind and the atmosphere is great as well. I have spent a lot of times at boba cafes on the west coast, and yumchaa is a cafe that shows how it is supposed to be done. The drink quality is great and atmosphere is fantastic. read more

I'm not usually one to leave a bad review, but this place is incredibly inconsistent. I've gone there at least three times only to be told when I tried to order that their blender is broken and/or they don't have any ice? I brushed it off each time because their drinks are good. Today I tried to call a few times over the course of 3 hours to see if they had ice and nobody answered. I decided to just suck it up and drive the 20 minutes there because it said everywhere online that they were open. I got here around 3:00pm and the store was closed. The business hours were still the same on the door as they were online. I got in my car and a few minutes later I saw someone unlock the door and relock it once they got inside. I gave them about 10 minutes before I called to see if they would answer but nobody did. They finally came out of the store 30 minutes later (yeah I'm petty so I waited that long). They immediately relocked the door and the store stayed closed. You catch them at a time when they are open, their blender works, and they have ice? Consider yourself lucky. read more

I really like this place! A lot of the flavors there are actually made with real tea and not that nasty powder stuff. I also really enjoy how they can actually control how much sugar they put in for you. They also have a rewards program and if you follow their insta, they post deals that they have going on. The tea is always good and the workers are almost always nice, however, during a recent visit I witnessed one of the workers, I don't know what their name was but they didn't have a lot of hair, berating one of the other workers. They were nice to the customers but incredibly rude and impolite to their coworker, even while I was waiting for my order. The switch from being super nice to immediately ill mannered behavior towards the guy worker made them seem really fake. The guy seemed newer to his job and did not look like he was having a good time. It was awful to witness and it made me feel disgusted. The boba is not cooked. It is super hard inside. The tea tasted fake and too sweet. I order no sugar and it's still sweet. I've never seen a boba store undercook their boba. The other posible reason for hard boba is they put it in the fridge overnight and heat it up. You're not suppose to do this because the boba is only good for 3-6 hours in room temperature after you cook them properly, and you never put it in the fridge because the texture will be weird. It's my first time there and I can say the ambience is pretty good. I could hang out there all day long with books and cup of taro milktea. The design of the place is pretty warm and so welcoming. I love their idea of putting their menu in front of the counter it's easy to read especially to people who's nearsighted. It's clean I couldn't see any dust either in the floor or in the tables. The arrangement of tables is applausable too it's not too close yet not so far. The ornaments that placed in every corner are pretty much balance. Now let's talk about the service, it didn't take long maybe 5-10 minutes you're order is already served and take note the flavors that they claim to have in each order is there. The richness of milk and tea is balance. They also have an option for the sugar level which I find amusing especially to those people whose looking out for sugar intake. The range of sugar percentage is from 0-100 , I got mine in 50% and it taste like how I want it to taste like if I'm preparing it myself. And the price is not too much. I love bubble tea but I often find it too sweet. The great thing here is that you can choose your sweetness level - from 0 to 100 percent. The variety of flavors was really great.
