Since I moved to Utica a year ago, Yummilicious has become my favorite place for a relaxing weekend brunch. It's one of the places here where the staff makes me feel like a regular. They always have a great selection in the pastry case - I'm partial to the pavlovas and baklava - if you want to have dessert there or pick up something to go. The meals I've had have been delicious and filling. The Çlibir is a standout: thick Greek yogurt covered in spices and butter and served with poached eggs. You'll want to use the accompanying bread to soak up every drop. This is a family owned and operated business. One or two sons are always running the front of the house and are without fail warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. Don't hesitate to ask for their recommendations! They really contribute to the enjoyment of the experience here. The space is colorful and comfortable and feels like a European tea shop. The prices are very good given the high quality of the food. This Cafe & Bakery by far have to be my favorite local bakery. I've been here many times and their baked goods are always consistently delicious. They also serve lunches on the weekends in which I haven't tried, yet. Have seen it on their Instagram and it looks just as good as their desserts. The most impressive part of this place is how unexpected it was. I actually didn't realize they even sold food at first. I assumed it was a flowery bakery that would sell you coffee, but not only do they sell food, they clearly are passionate about making Good Food. They put the time in the details here, including homemade bread for sandwiches and toasts and making sure they deliver on their flavor palettes. Furthermore, they have a surprisingly wide selection of eastern European/ Balkan dishes that I otherwise have never seen. Most recently I went and got the Cilbir and it was fantastic. properly poached egg with Greek yogurt (I assume this has a different Turkish name but I don't want to wade into this politics). and smoked paprika with homemade bread toast for dipping. It also comes with Turkish tea, which I had never had. My wife had a chicken sandwich which is completely instagramable. Huge sandwich with all the fixins and we would highly recommend. Speaking of, they clearly want to have this place promoted on insta so it has a floral wall we have used for posts as well as being precisely decorated and very cute in all. I can also recommend the quality chicken riggies and onion rings from here. The only thing I am burying in the back that I should mention is I had the bosnian breakfast. I wasn't thrilled but because the breakfast is essentially 4 fried doughs with addons and a turkish tea. The doughs come covered in sugar or powdered sugar but I did not specify which I wanted so the waiter rightly assumed I didn't want either. So the doughs were a little bland, but that's entirely on me. I only mention it here to say if you do get this dish, definitely specify which you want because I would imagine its actually amazing. read more

My friend and I happened upon this place on a trip from Syracuse back home to Vermont! We were both so happy from the moment we arrived , the hanging umbrellas blowing in the wind to the walls decorated with flowers, and soft velvet chairs and couches to sit on! And all the extra little details the hearts on the straws the heart sugar cubes.... And the food, My friend had the Bosnian Meza plate, and I had the Cilbir which is poached eggs surrounded by a sumac spiced yogurt sauce and a side of the amazing red pepper eggplant sauce! And....luscious homemade bread to scrape up all of he sauces!!!! All of this was remarkable.... But the best part was how friendly and personable the two brothers who were waiting our table are! Found this hidden gem in Utica unexpectedly when the cafe that I was supposed to check is closed. Couldn't be more lucky! The outside is really cute but I was stunned when I saw how pretty and chic the inside of the cafe is. I felt like I am in Soho. (Very instagrammable!) I ordered the Bosnian breakfast and Çilbir as it was what I saw in Yelp review that looked mouthwatering. And yup, the food were all delightful. The Çilbir, DIVINE!!! Service was amazeballs! The staff, later I found out that they're all family running the business, they are exceptional. They were all so nice and cheerful to all the customers. This is gonna be my new hangout cafè in Utica whenever I wont be able to go back home to the city and for the rest of my remaining weeks til my travel assignment is over. The mother son duo working at the time knew right away it was my first time... introduced themselves and explained everything they had left in the case at the end of the day when I came in. First time customer here - I stopped in for brunch on a Saturday and was absolutely blown away by my experience. I ordered the Cilbir (Turkish poached eggs) and Ferrero Rocher crepes with blueberries on top and everything looked great and tasted even better. Marcia (I hope I spelled her name right) and her husband personally cook everything for you themselves and I don't think anything leaves that kitchen unless every last detail is perfect. The Cilbir comes with a homemade bread that they also sell separately on Sundays and I would go back just for the bread - I normally don't even eat bread (I'm more of a rice person) but that's how good it is. The place is clean and the interior and exterior seating area is cute and thoughtfully designed. I was looking for something other than a typical American breakfast and was delighted to find this European/Mediterranean cafe. We were seated quickly and ordered our meals. The young man who greeted us was friendly and helpful. We ate a wonderful dinner. My husband got the Chicken Riggies, and I got the chicken sandwich. Both meals were fresh and high quality. To be honest it doesn't quite fit the neighborhood. I feel like this should be on a busy street in a cute little downtown area but man I'm glad we stopped here. we are heading back to Boston from Old Forge, Adirondacks and my boyfriend needed a coffee so after reading the reviews we stopped here for a Turkish coffee, elderflower lemonade, and some baklava. Everything is delicious, He actually says the person would be great with just one of those coffees a day man he can really feel the caffeine. The inside as well as the exterior is so cute, like something out of a fairy book. The two gentlemen that were working had incredible customer service and the little intricacies like the thank you sugar bag, the thank you sticker on the top of the coffee and even the straw that is in the shape of a heart really make this place stand out. I went to yummilicious weeks ago with a friend for takeout and had a fantastic experience. It's staff is extremely friendly and make the restaurant feel inviting, even with Covid precautions like masks. I got polenta which I'd never had before, and my friend got a burger. We both got some sweets from the counter- baklava (which had been highly recommended to me by another friend) and pavlova. I've fallen into a pattern in Utica of trying somewhere new and being disappointed, but I was pleasantly surprised by yummilicious! Their portions were generous and the food and sweets are fantastic! I will definitely be going back in for their fall/winter menu and am so happy to find somewhere thats actually open on Sunday and that I'm excited to take friends and family from out of town to! This place is beautiful. We went in after dinner on Friday night and there was plenty of desserts left. We were so impressed with the service and the desserts. One thing I thought was cool was that their coffee is done Turkish style. They heat it up in a copper pan filled with sand. So cool! This is a nice addition to East Utica.
