Day after day, month after month, year after year, this place continues to be excellent. The staff, many of whom have been here for years, treat their guests well. The food is always delicious. The coffee cups stay filled. This is a diner that does everything right.

Just finished my first visit to Marr Logg and I was impressed. When you enter there's a sign to seat yourself and every table is already set up with coffee cups. Not sure the waitresses name but she was very pleasant, informative and must have made no less than 5 trips during our visit to top off the coffee. Ordered the Giambotta because this was the final spot on the quest to find the best in Utica. First off - it's HUGE! I ordered it with cheese (provolone) and hot peppers. The flavor was awesome, lots of sausage and peppers. By the time I gave in (3/4 the way through), my forehead was sweating from the peppers. Here's the deal - I'm not much for participation trophies but if you want the best Giambotta in Utica you have two choices. Marr Logg or Craylee's.

Another fabulous visit to Marr Logg Yesterday!!! The coffee was hot, delicious and warmed up constantly! The food comes out ultra quick, even though yesterday they were only working with 1 cook and it was pretty busy. Everyone always has a smile on their face and genuinely cares!! We love coming here and it will always be our favorite spot in Utica!!

One of if not the best diner in Utica. Amazing flavored food and service. Hometown feel and friendly service. The giambrotte is arguably best in the area.

Perhaps a better name would be "No-Allergy Samich Shop." It for sure is not a cafe: they have…read moreonly regular and decaf and it's not ready to go. There is a counter to the left as you come in, followed by an unattractive cooler case with signs on it. In between is a bakery case that is small but had a nice selection when I was there. I ordered a cup of decaf and a small chocolate almond cupcake, for a price of $8. I declined the plastic box and sat down with the cupcake in an upholstered chair opposite the counter. I thought my coffee would be right up but it took many minutes. I almost left. The cupcake was small but good (fluffy cake, sugary frosting). Then I noticed the sign that said everything was gluten and dairy-free. Surprise! When the coffee was ready, the cream was put in for me. I guess it was nondairy. The coffee was warm like a keurig makes. I had noticed Lunch menus in a wall pocket and Brunch menus behind the counter. So this place is actually full restaurant for people with gluten and dairy allergies. The lunches all seemed to cost ~$18 and seemed inventive. Fries were available as a specialty. There were a lot of tables in the long, cool, dark room. It seemed like a decent place to have an undisturbed meal while talking with friends.

I've sat on this review for a week trying to decide if I wanted to share a not-so-flattering…read moreexperience. However, if there is a chance that Swifty's management may read this, along with fellow diners, it may be helpful for the future. The overall experience, food, and service was good. Clearly, this place and its 2 sister locations know how to be successful. But what we experienced could either be because a rogue chef or location manager is trying to cut corners - or - it could be the philosophy of the company to try and nickel-and-dime the customer to reduce costs and take advantage of those who won't notice. My boys and I ordered 20 wings to start, my oldest had a burger to follow, and my younger really wanted to focus on wings, so only ordered fries. I had the. Cheeseburger wrap with onion rings and coleslaw. Wings: crispy, tasty, and really good blue cheese. BUT...when they came to the table, the baskets looked light. So... WE COUNTED THEM. ONLY 17. My (as the menu clearly states) "half pound burger in a wrap" was probably 1/4 of a pound light. Wait til you see the photo. So, all the good service and reasonably good food was ruined by Swifty's trying to either take advantage of customers incrementally hundreds of times a day (order by order) - or - they have a location chef and manager who tolerate food leaving their kitchen that is not as advertised or up to the standard which allowed them to open 3 locations. It's one or the other. Will we be back? I don't know. We really wanted this to be great. We live in the Northwest Corner of CT, my son goes to college in Rochester, this location is literally (to the mile) half-way between. We make the trip weekly due to his athletics schedule. We wanted to be regulars. Will probably look elsewhere next time. 2 stars for the front of the house service. It was excellent. And the blue cheese dressing. It was fantastic. If you go - count your wings and make sure what the menu says is on your plate.

We sat ourselves per the signs directions. Our server had pep, personality & a quick sense of humor... I did not catch her name. Food coming out was a bit slow. Have patience. I was served quite possibly the fluffiest, lightest, tastiest FRESH & HOT vegetarian omelet ( no peppers sub onions ) a perfectly cooked hardy omelet. The cheese was a "3 cheese blend". The edges of this omelet were perfectly "crisped " cheeses. I highly recommend stoping by for an enjoyable omelet experience. Also, while this omelet was slow in delivery, the care, pride & love taken to create this were more then apparent, when this eye popping omelet was STILL steaming hot 10 minutes into dining in it. I eat slowly as well. Be PATIENT, take a look around the staff in hustling. Well worth the wait!! I would drive up here from Ithaca for a TRULY excellent breakfast! Worth the wait. Great waitstaff.
