Absolutely loved this little gem in Humble! The interior is stunning and such a thoughtful, warm, and special space that immediately makes you feel welcome. We hosted a family gathering in the small party room, and it was the perfect intimate setting. The spread of small bites was fantastic. I was given the opof paying part or full price for a cake that cost 150 dollars and when I returned to pick the cake up an extra 100 dollars had been added. To keep it simple it was not pleasant. The actually cake was a density that I can't explain and a bit dry. The icing seemed like a whipped buttercream but the flavors, yes flavors were no vanilla. As a loyal customer for 10 years, I am deeply disappointed in the lack of honest and stellar service I received at the New Caney location. For 10 years, beginning at the original location in old Humble, I have ordered several custom cakes for my family, regularly picked up on site sweets and referred countless friends and neighbors to Yummy Tummy Pastries. On August 5th, I ordered a custom cake for my daughter's 8th birthday. Jasmine at the New Caney location took my order. She seemed a bit confused throughout the process and had to make a few corrections with my deposit. This was also the third time that I've had a cake issue with this location. Nevertheless, I had faith that if there were any errors on the day of pickup, they could be addressed quickly. I returned on August 23rd to pick up the cake. I was told that there was no record of the order. I presented my receipt which outlined the date ordered, a Lilo and stitch custom order, the paid deposit, and that Jasmine was the one that took the order. The young server searched frantically in the back, on the tablet for the order, and called the Humble location to see if the cake was there. She could see the many previous orders I made in the system, but not the one placed on August 5th. Jasmine was present, not once did she acknowledge that she was the one who took the order. Not once did she apologize to me or try to resolve the issue. The young server then said she spoke with the Manager, Daisy, and she offered a full refund and that I can select a cake from the display. I responded that was not acceptable and requested to speak with Daisy. I was told that Daisy was at the Humble location. I requested to speak with Daisy via phone. I was told that she was not available and would contact me immediately via cell and she would try to get the cake made and delivered to us the next day. It is now 5 days later, and I was never contacted by Daisy or the owners. As we left the store, I called the Humble location and requested to speak with Daisy. I was told that Daisy is at the New Caney location. I then spoke with Edith, the manager at the Humble location, who was very helpful and immediately sought to resolve the issue. With Edith, I also requested to speak with the owners, but was told that they were unavailable. Edith worked with the baker to prepare the custom cake early the next morning and have it delivered to our home. I want to applaud Edith, as she was the only one that worked diligently to assist and ensure that our child had as close to the same cake that was originally ordered. Edith communicated with the owners and was able to get the delivery approved at no cost to us - which was the correct course of action as the cake was delayed at fault of the bakery - but that we would have to pay the remaining balance prior to delivery. I was unhappy with that as it lacked accountability and more than demonstrated that I was not valued as a longtime loyal customer. This was Saturday evening, and we were placed in a predicament in that there were no other options to get a custom cake. There was still no sincere apology from the owners. But I must state, that this was not the exact same cake that Jasmine and I had discussed some changes that was noted on the original form. However, I was grateful for Edith's help! I have intentionally waited a few days to allow Daisy and/or the owners to contact me directly to discuss, but they have not. I am sure that I will hear something after posting this review, which is very sad. As a result of the above, I will no longer frequent this business nor highly recommend to my network. read more

It was so hard to cut and eat it's truly a shame to have to throw away more than half of the cake. This was no fresh cake, it seemed like it was an old one. I attended my great-niece's quinceañera on 11/18/23. 5 Stars- of the 4 flavors, I only tasted two therefor can only speak to the ones I sampled. They were AMAZING! Both the carrot and chocolate cakes were moist and the icing was perfect not overly sweet. I heard others commenting on the strawberry shortcake. All great things were said. 5 Stars - This bakery partners with Azteca Reception Hall. Once they know a clients event date they reserve it on their calendar. 4 Stars - The cake was beautiful although a couple of tiny flaws here and there. The blue icing wasn't as thick at two spots where the icing was screened across the overlay template. Therefor the white from the base shown through making it appear baby blue. 3 Stars - the color was spot on. However, the design was not what was requested. It should have been a repeating Talavera tile design and instead it was a damask fabric design around the the cake. Again, it was still beautiful just not was expected. Lesson learned for future clients. Perhaps have both parties sign off on the agreed upon design. I hear the shop is adorable and a must see. The Cake looked great but it didn't have everything we spoke about. The custom cake was $165, which I didn't mind paying. It was the lack of detail and customer service after I paid in full before receiving the cake. I called twice before my pick up time and no one answered. I called because I needed to change my pick up time. 30 mins after my pick up time I called again. I let them know I was behind but I need to pick up the cake in the next 30 mins. I asked "when do they close" the lady said in "20 mins". I asked her were they going to even give a courtesy call? She said yea they were. I was confused by that seeing how I had to call and find out they were closing so soon. When I got there to pick up the cake there wasn't glitter on the cake. I paid for glitter because i knew the birthday girl would've love it. There was no glitter. The lady was adamant that there was a speck of glitter... there was no glitter on that cake.
