When I walked in i was greeted by a group of older men not sure if this is a family opened place or not but it felt that way. The shop had quite the variety of pastries, categorized by treats. My eyes locked in on the morning pastries that consisted of a corn bread muffin, a scone, a hot cross bun, and more. I asked the staff: Me: "what do you recommend? Staff: "either the corn bread muffin or the scone." Me: "well I came here for a chocolate croissant so what would you suggest instead?"" Staff: "we may have some more chocolate croissants in the back" Me: (I saw a line had built up behind me) "no need, you don't have to do that" Staff: "so would you like the scone or corn bread muffin?" Me: "surprise me" Staff: "okay would you like it warmed up?" Me: "yes please" He went in the back to do that it seemed and when he came back with the bag he said: Staff: "I found a chocolate crossiant so I warmed it up for you" Me: "oh great thank you so much". The croissant was only $3 which I feel like is a decent deal and it was warmed up in less than 1 or 2 mins. As I left the gentlemen who had greeted me said goodbye. As for the croissant itself, it was okay. It was lacking a lot of the "chocolate" aspect that I long for when ordering this pastry. The location is less than a 3 min walk from the Lorimer L stop which is convenient, so if you're just in a quick rush this place would do.

Their cold brew has dark and rich notes of chocolate and almond, which couldn't be more fitting for a pastry and bake shop. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I try and make a point to grab a cup here. And while I've only been here a couple of times, the staff has been polite, and the coffee has been consistent - the latter being an issue for many shops. Baked doesn't try to be too cool or anything other than what it is. It's an unpretentious bake shop that offers a perfectly chilled cold brew that deserves to be savored with each sip and doesn't break the bank. It's worth making the trip even and I'll be doing so, even if I'm not exactly in the neighborhood.

If you're visiting for the first time, my must-order lineup would be the Salted Chocolate Chip, Lava Cookie (especially if you're a chocolate lover), the Cinnamon Cookie, and the Peanut Butter Cookie. Each one has its own personality, but they're all wonderfully soft, chewy, and packed with flavor without being overly sweet. The Last Crumb has quickly become one of my favorite cookie shops in New York. I'd even put it in the same conversation as Culture Espresso and Seven Grams, and personally, I prefer it over Levain. While Levain is known for its thick, dense cookies with a firmer exterior, these actually feel and look like classic cookies--crispy around the edges with a soft, chewy center that's incredibly satisfying. That said, it really comes down to personal preference. If you love a softer, chewier cookie, The Last Crumb is the place to be. If you prefer a thicker cookie with a harder exterior, Levain may still be your favorite. Either way, Williamsburg didn't need another amazing dessert spot... but I'm so glad it got one. Walking in to this Bushwick bakery is like stepping back in time. I remember like it was yesterday, going to the bakery in Canarsie with my grandfather Sunday morning to buy local bread and Italian baked goods. All of the men wore hats, it was something that always stuck with me. This holiday season, I always want to have the same Italian Baked goods in my home. A struffoli ring is a must, every year I buy a extra ring for my high school buddy/barber. This Christmas season, I decided to swing by Circo's Pastry Shop and go a little wild! I see the beautiful storefront and park across the street. Walking inside is managed chaos. I can see various baskets ready to be picked up. It seems like my idea, everyone else has as well. I see the owners son from the videos on the phone taking orders and I'm assuming his mom behind the counter. I ask if its ok to take two struffoli baskets but I spy with my little eye Sfogliatelle. I order a few cannoli as well as a Large Sfogliatelle to go. I jump in my jeep and I'm so excited to bring everything home. Except that Sfogliatelle was calling me. I'm on the Long Island Expressway and I ripped that box open like a fiend! OMG, that Sfogliatelle was soooo good! It was very fresh and I was covered with flaky layers. The interior of the Sfogliatelle was spongy, just like I remember as a kid. Circo's Pastry Shop, thank you for the trip down memory lane. Great pastries, I can't wait to return.
