Was a little early for a movie around the corner figured we get a treat with our daughters. You can dine in or take out we didn't realize you couldn't just get what you wanted and sit down so we ate it outside and it was really cold that day so we just ended up putting it in our car. My husband got a cannoli said it was good but has had better my daughter loves chocolate and got the chocolate mousse cake and actually said it was dry . I love carrot cake and I especially really liked this one because It has walnuts you don't find many people making the carrot cake with nuts. I would come back just for that. The total for 2 slices of cake and a cannoli was $25

We stumbled upon here in the rain and were wowed!! First got pastries (cookie, eclair and bread pudding), and then decided to stay for coffee. The eclair had real vanilla custard, the cookie was nice and cakey, and the bread pudding was really spongy. I had a Nutella cappuccino and was worried it would be too sweet but it was perfection! Smooth coffee bitterness and a light touch of the chocolate hazelnut.

Very cute ambiance with a seriously large array and selection of delectable sweets! They've got pies and cheesecakes and cakes, even things like baklava which I found endearing. The service is really quick, you just say you're ready, say what you need and they'll seat you and bring it over along with a drink. The portion is ginormous and very tasty.

The best hot chocolate I've ever had (Nutella Hot Chocolate) and amazing desserts to go with it! The dj plays great music all night and it's open late on weeknights and weekends. Service moves pretty quickly too, even when busy. Really an amazing space to have a good sweet treat!

My favorite spot for dessert ever. I love getting the red velvet hot coca and a piece of pie. I've tried so many desserts here and they are all fantastic. I especially enjoy this place because it's a cool place to hang later at night sans alcohol.

Whenever I visit New York, I have to save room for Martha's! The restaurant is surprisingly spacious--especially for a NYC café, and the music is always on point. Service is fast; they take your drink order almost as soon as you sit down. I love taking a moment to browse all the desserts in the display case because there are so many options, and I appreciate the variety every time. This visit, I tried the Bread pudding, Carrot cake, and Berry Napoleon. The bread pudding was my favorite--they don't skimp on the serving, it heats up well, and it's perfect to take on the go without worrying about the texture later. The Napoleon was also great; the cream was delicious and not overly sweet. While I'm usually a big carrot cake fan, this one leaned towards being too sweet for me. The cake itself was good, but the icing was a bit too much -- I had to toss the icing. I highly recommend trying Martha's if you're ever in the area!

Been to other Martha's but this place is the best in my opinion. Staff are courteous, friendly and respectful. We really can't decide what to eat as everything looks great and delicious. All cakes were so moist and yum . The place is cozy and already started Christmas themes. Love it.

One of my favorite bakery chains in NYC. They have so many different cakes and dessert. My favorite being the triple chocolate is to die for.

I've been a fan of Martha's for many years and have been to their other Williamsburg locations-- but this was my first time here. The line is always long here but they typically move quickly. I usually stick with the same items when I'm here and this time was no different. I went with the cheesecake, which is always made to perfection. I've noticed the price has gone up slightly-- I think everything in New York has, though. Great product and prompt service, per usual.

Pretty great selection of bakery items. Tried this pastry as well as red velvet and hazelnut chocolate cupcake. Maybe we choose the wrong selection at the end of the day but the quality and freshness doesn't seem to be what I remember and service was kinda meh... cute ambiance, seating, and plating though!

They spilled my drink while giving it to me at the table definitely not very good service. Desserts are pretty mid. Good place to hang with friends though

Checked out the Williamsburg branch of this well-known bakery. Had a cake that had been ordered to-go early in the morning, and the service had presented the cake neatly in its box. The bakery had some seating available for customers. The Berry Napoleon cake was delicious! The frosting was light, had a delicious flaky puff pastry, and the cake had just the right amount of custard and berries.

Fun fact, Martha's is open until 1am on Friday and Saturdays with a DJ! Did not know this but was pleasantly surprised. I went with a few friends to celebrate a birthday and all of us enjoyed our desserts. They were very quick to take our orders and bring them out. I ordered the gluten free and vegan cheesecake and it was tasty. I do wish they had more gluten free options that were also separate from their vegan options as both together are very limiting.

Ask the Community - Martha's Country Bakery

What kind of gelatin is used in the cakes with gelatin? Also, are the baked goods suitable for vegetarians?

I believe they're kosher certified, so no meat based gelatins (would still verify). I think the the mousse based cakes are not vegetarian.

Does the Tres Leches cake use any alcohol in its ingredients? How about gelatin?

No alcohol or gelatin, the bakery is Kosher certified And Tres Leches does not have alcohol. It has condensed milk

Can I order a whole birthday cake online and pick up?

possibly, but I'd probably call them

Do you have to call to make a custom order?

Yes I will call them- I did the same for my son BDay Custom Cake.

Does the caramel mousse cake contain dairy?

Yes it does, and gluten. Not sure if there is a gluten free option.

Will Martha's still be delivering orders this week?

    Yes all Martha's except Astoria

    How much do cakes cost?

About 7$ a slice, 40-50 full size, WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Is the pistachio mousse cake seasonal? Which Brooklyn location has it year round? Both are in…

Yes but the location in a Brooklyn has it year round with chocolate mouse and it is delicious!!

How much would a cake be for about 20 people?

    20 to 60

The banana and strawberry not so much as to me that didn't really have much of a taste, but maybe that was because the rest of it was super flavorful and over powered the fruit. Having a dessert spot in the neighborhood that is open late night and is serving flavors of our culture is nothing short of a dream come true. Not so great for my weight loss goals, though haha. Thank you, Moose. I came in here, and the place was absolutely buzzing, with groups of people enjoying their late night desserts- a testament to how much we needed this spot to just open and thrive and exist. I don't personally like cream Kenafa so I haven't really tried anything off their menu yet, but the Dubai chocolate crêpe is really calling out my name, and I am just going to bite the bullet and try it one of these days. I did go in to sample their Dubai chocolate. As a chocoholic, I am on a low-key search for the best Dubai chocolate bar in the city. This bar did not disappoint. The filling to chocolate ratio was perfect. However, I do feel that there is an over balance of crispy kanafa in the filling. I think it could use more pistachio cream and be a little on the runnier side. Can't wait to come back and try that crêpe. Until I am able to make that trip back, do stop in and enjoy a sweet treat in this cute little dessert shop. It's also Palestinian owned so you know you are supporting the right people and the right cause while satisfying that sweet tooth craving. What more could a customer ask for?

Anyway, I was in Brooklyn with my brother to see a concert and had just finished dinner. We had some time before doors opened so we decided to grab a little ice cream before heading over to the venue. Farmacy was steps away - it all seemed like it was meant to be, so off we went. Farmacy aims to capture the nostalgia of an old fashioned soda shop and ice cream parlor. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted by aesthetics - the tile, fixtures, and decor totally give off that vibe. There are a few tables to sit as well as a large bar area with stools; I also noticed a few tables set up outside as well. The traffic flow is set up so that you order first and then have it served to you after sitting. Browsing the menu, I noticed they have a selection of ice cream scoops, shakes, egg creams, specialty sodas, hot chocolates, and a large variety of sundae creations. Since we were there for ice cream, we decided to split a sundae -specifically the Sir Twix-a-Lot. This was chunks for shortcake tossed in caramel and topped with vanilla ice cream that was coated in a chocolate shell. Overall I thought the sundae was solid - but the combinations of textures weren't my favorite to be honest, mostly with how the shortcake played with the ice cream. It wasn't bad though - the flavors definitely gave the Twix aesthetic. My only other issue with the dish was that because chocolate shell was used, any residue at the bottom was hard so you have to chisel it if you want to savor any last spoonfuls; I guess that comes with the territory. Service was good - everyone was friendly. It wasn't too busy when we were there so we had our selection of seats and our ice cream was ready pretty quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried Brooklyn Farmacy out - they have a large selection so I would definitely return when I'm in the area again.

It was a bit warm at our table, and the friendly staff moved us to a cooler area. To drink, I ordered the Wolf's Fang for $18, a blend of rums, falernum, arak, passionfruit, orange, and oat milk. As described, it was their take on a milk punch, and wasn't too sweet with a bright hint of citrus. I would recommend it. The hummus was good, being thick with a strong tahini flavor, though I have preferred others. Outside of the hummus, the daily salatim included a mix of mostly pickled items. First, there was some pickled cauliflower and carrots with a bit of turmeric. The second salatim was a more unique and spicier pineapple slaw, which was refreshing, and had some herbal flavor from parsley or something similar. The third was a cabbage slaw, which was alright, as I found it a bit too lightly seasoned. The last was a mix of cucumbers, olives, and other pickles, which was standard and tasty. Alongside all of this, the pita was warm and fresh, and the staff refilled everything when we asked. For the main course, I chose the Steak Shashlik, which they spell as shishlik, for $46, which came with tahini and some pickled onions. The steak was tender and well seasoned, and the tahini added a distinctive nuttiness. I especially enjoyed making a mini sandwich with the steak, tahini, pineapple pickle, and pita. Others at the table ordered the Spicy Lamb Kofta and other shashlik options, including Chicken and Trout. In terms of sides, someone got the $15 Fries with tahina ketchup, which they enjoyed. Overall, everyone enjoyed their meal, with no one ordering dessert as a few walked over to the tasty Bertoni Gelato nearby. This place is a tad expensive, but I wouldn't mind going back. Even as a fan of pickles, I wish the salatim were a bit more varied, such as including an eggplant or bean-based mezze. I presume the dinner version is a bit more varied, as there are many more salatim, but they should put a bit more effort into the lunch one as well.

Seating space (not a lot of it, so I imagine it can get packed on busy times) and bathrooms on premises. Hot chocolate was delicious. We got the spiced dark chocolate and the spices were overwhelming. Get dark chocolate without spices. The extra dollar for marshmallow made the chocolate even sweeter, so it was overwhelming and I wouldn't recommend. But. The extra dollar for whipped cream would be nice because the their homemade whipped cream isn't sweet, so it will just thicken up the drink and give you that extra texture oooomph that you'll appreciate. Torino cafe is basically coffee added to any hot chocolate of your choice. That was tasty with dark chocolate. You definitely tasted the coffee and it was less thick than regular hot chocolate (which was on a thinner, sippier side). You can sample ice cream to make your selection. It's all very sweet, so if you're looking for a less sweet option go with Belgian dark chocolate flavor. For a $18 banana split you get three scoops of ice cream and a caramelized banana. Flavor-wise, I tried the masala chai, black cherry cardamom, and the saffron soft serve. The saffron soft serve reminded me of the leftover milk from ras malai turned into soft serve, which was interesting and nostalgic. The masala chai and cherry cardamom were more subtle than I hoped. Some tasted unique upfront but left a slightly weird aftertaste that kind of lingered. I respect what they're trying to do and can see why people love it, especially if you're easing into more globally inspired desserts, but for the price, I wanted stronger flavor payoff and a cleaner finish.
