Was so disappointed. After reading all the great reviews decided to try this spot and their famous baguette. The baguette was not very amazing and their pastries were even worse. Tried the danish and the sugar pastry in the picture and they were not very good. But for 2 dollars for a baguette you can't go wrong.
I love this bakery! When I heard Action Bronson frequents here, I knew I had to stop by. The prices are very fair, and the pastries are extremely photogenic. Finally, the taste of each is thoughtful, complex and fresh. Everything you want from a bakery, essentially. Check out this blueberry danish and tell me it doesn't look good. 5/5!
Stopped in as it was mentioned many times as a bakery to visit when in the area, so I did. I arrived right before they opened so they had a full case of pastries. The space is small like most nyc businesses but the staff were friendly. While it's hard to follow this with somewhere like radio bakery I tried to be open minded. I was upset to see they are on the trend of a case full of laminated pastries. We get it. If you can make 4 laminated pastries we believe you can make 10. So unfortunately it makes the selection feel small. I went with the pear almond tarte which was decent. It was probably average over all. Nothing remarkable but certainly not bad enough to say "I can't even finish this". Over all I think it's an average bakery from what I experienced and while I'd stopping if in the area I would inconvenience myself to go here. With that said if you're in the area drop by and pick something up
While the line went out the door it was worth it. Everything looked great but we ended up getting an apricot crasont and raspberry tart. Both were great. Filled with fresh fruit and creamy filling, they were both light and flaky. The line moved quickly as well so it ended up being pretty quick all being said.
TL;DR: THE CARBS ARE WORTH IT Bakeries are a dime a dozen already - let alone in hip and 'young' Williamsburg That said, La Bicyclette kicks ass and you should absolutely come The pastries. The coffee. The staff. ALL GREAT! Merci beaucoup, La Bicyclette!
Funny enough, I pass by this bakery all the time but only recently was prompted to go cause my best friend from San Diego watched a youtube video that featured this place. There was a line but it moves fast. I got a pastry and baguette which are decently priced, especially for williamsburg. It's a very good bakery.
I sometimes have felt that the croissants in New York are better than in Paris. The same cannot be said of NYC's baguettes, which are universally subpar. Until La Bicyclette that is. Their baguettes are of the highest caliber, and they even have Beurre de Baratte and other French butters available so that you have all the makings of a perfect weekend breakfast. For the weekdays, their croissants are also superb.
It's so great to have a proper French bakery in NYC! We bought a few items: Plain croissant (decent but could be flakier and more buttery). It's $3.75 which is inexpensive given the flour and butter are imported from France, and it's labor intensive. Baguette: so light and fluffy, crispy on the outside, and only $2, it's a no brainer Blueberry Pastry Cream: spectacular, the best item of the ones I tried. The cream is delicious and flavorful and creamy and light all at once. And the pastry was nice and flaky. 10/10 Chocolate and Almond Croissant: it was good, a solid pastry and it's not something I normally buy. Fig jam Croissant: this was only available the day we went in (a Saturday). It was really nice, the cream was delicious and fig itself and the past. It was $8 which is not bad for the amount of work that goes in. Service was friendly and quick as well. There isn't any room inside to eat, it's just a grab and go type of place, and outside there are two benches.

I happened to have their bread at Fradei in Fort Greene a few weeks earlier, and it was on my mind ever since, so I paid a visit on a Saturday morning around 9:30. Line was out the door, but it moved quickly and I had everything in hand 10 mins later. The haul: + Baguette + Cold brew + Apricot pastry + Croissant The baguette was fire - and only $2!! - and the apricot pastry was also incredible. Super solid croissant, too. Everything was so good that I got back in line and ordered a blackberry pastry for the road. True Paris vibes!
Ended a Friday morning group run at this lovely neighborhood bakery at the group's recommendation. We showed up 10-15 minutes before opening but you could see the staff hard at work preparing the goods, as well as customers starting to line up around the corner. Don't fret, service is equally quick and friendly and there's plenty for everyone. They have a nice mix of offerings such as breakfast pastries, croissants, baguettes, loafs, and even sandwiches for an afternoon snack. If possible.. Try. Everything.
TLDR: favorite jambon buerre/Comte in the city. Croissants are some of the best as well. I come here at least once a month from Manhattan just for a jambon beurre and any of their pastries. Easily one of my favorite bakeries in NYC. I even purchase my butter and other French products here. Sometimes theres a line, but do not fret, it typically moves quickly!
Another solid French bakery in Brooklyn. A solid 4.5 star bakery that is definitely in competition with Bakeri, Tin Building, Dominique Ansel, and Radio Bakery. I have yet to try L'Appartement 4F, but La Bicyclette has extremely restrictive hours, in which the store is open from 8am-1pm. The croissant was a perfect 5/5 and the pear almond tart as well as apricot croissant were almost perfect at a 4.5/5. I have been to many top bakeries in France and Normandy including Cedric Grolet, Philip Conticini, Pierre Herme, Moderne Boulangerie, Chez Meneur where they were awarded the best crossiant Grand Prix awards, so a 5/5 is really difficult to pull off in relation, but well done La Bicyclette! They also have the much coveted Galette de Rois, otherwise known as the "King's Cake" or "Epiphany Cake" in which they honor the French tradition of hiding a "feve (little toy porcelain figurine). I have to try the baguettes as well as the sandwiches the next time I'm in the Williamsburg area as I'm local to Greenpoint.

La Bicyclette is the real deal serving fresh pastries at reasonable prices. Everything we had was really fresh and well-made. The standouts were the Fig Jam Croissant and Blueberry Pastry Cream. The Fig Jam Croissant was the special of the day and I'm so glad I snagged one. The croissant was flaky, the fig jam was sweet and nutty, and the fig on top was so delicious. The vanilla bean cream (at least that's what I think it was) was unbelievably good - I can have a dollop of that on a croissant and be in heaven. So good! The Blueberry Pastry Cream was also really nice balanced from the sweet and tart blueberries to the smoothness from the cream to the crisp croissant. Even the Croissant Amande Choco really surprised me. The worker said this is one of the few spots that sells a chocolate almond croissant and if that's the case, this is a top contender. It has just the right amount of almond, almond paste, and chocolate. I liked it the more I ate it. The Croissant was a solid classic and the French Baguette was super fresh but honestly if you're not planning to eat it that day or within a few hours, skip it. It got pretty hard despite storing it properly. Proper bakery in Brooklyn with great pastries, definitely recommend checking them out!
Is there anything better than a corner bakery with shelves of crispy baguettes and cases of sugary pastries. Another banger of a pastry shop. Hands down, so yummy!!! I stopped by right when they opened, and everything on display was definitely looking fresh. I ordered a sandwich that had arugula (I forgot the name), but it was so light and refreshing with all of the ingredients. Eating an entire baguette sandwich did not weigh me down at all!! The service was quick and they were patient while I was deciding what I wanted to get. The decor was simple, and it had plenty of seating! read more

Best baguette in NYC ! This is my favorite French bakery -- everything from baguette to pain au chocolat is 10 / 10. Also recommend the raspberry danish. Service is good; space is pretty small but they have 2 benches outside the bakery if you want to sit. Great local bakery in the area. read more

La Bicyclette Bakery offers an efficient and pleasant experience. The service is excellent--friendly and quick--but it's worth noting that there's no place to sit and enjoy your purchase on-site. It's more of a grab-and-go spot. The pastries are incredibly fresh, with a perfect balance of flavor and texture, though they're a bit on the heavier side. I could only eat half of my pastry in one sitting. If you're looking for a quick stop to pick up high-quality baked goods, this is definitely the place. read more

Who doesn't love a quality croissant? La bicyclette is infamous for their pastries and for good reason. I'm shocked I ended up there serendipitously on a Saturday morning because they are well known for having lines that wrap around the block! Maybe it was already past prime time, but around 11 am there was no line so we popped in. Knew from the moment I trolled their instagram page that I wanted to try the ham and cheese on baguette. It also has butter (unsalated) which provides a rich creaminess that I was a huge fan of. Overall very solid option for late breakfast or a light lunch. Will note that at $13 it is pretty steep but it's high quality bread! And made with love! THe other item we grabbed was the choco croissant (mostly for my partner lol) Personally, I wanted the classic croissant but what can you do. I wish it was warmed up because if the chocolate was ooey gooey it would have been perfect. But there's always next time! Can't wait to come back on a weekday morning, and most of all, so grateful to know that there are good quality pastries right around the corner! read more

I'm not big on bread, but I was craving a croissant. I'd say the croissant here is not bad--maybe cuz it's cuz I came around 11, but the croissant wasn't as flakey as I expected. It was more dense, but fine none the less. I did enjoy their jamon and cheese baguette. The baguette tasted fresh. The jamon was a bit chewy for my preference but the cheese was nice. I'd say $14 was a bit steep for what I got though. read more
My son and I went to NYC for an early breakfast. After we finished, my wife calls and said to get bread for dinner. Oh and bring home lunch! I now pedal on over to La Bicyclette Bakery in Brooklyn. My French- Canadian wife is going to be in for a surprise, La Bicyclette Bakery is the real deal. The baguette from La Bicyclette Bakery is pure perfection. What I spy with my little eye is Pain Aux Raisins, my favorite. The guy behind the counter, ease up on the pronunciation buddy. I saw him correct a customer in front of me. I know how to say Pain Aux Raisins. My turn comes and I ask for a baguette and a sandwich. Jambon-Beurre? No salami please as well as the raisin pastry. The Pain Aux Raisins? Yes please and thank you. My wife was in heaven when we came home! She loved the sandwich on the perfectly baked baguette. I added grainy mustard, some Cornichons to my sandwich. Heavenly! I'm so glad La Bicyclette Bakery is in Brooklyn. There is a line but it moves quickly. Their French baked goods are out of this world. Savourer! read more
I've been wanting to go here ever since I saw a huge line for an Action Bronson pop up they did. I went early Sunday morning around 845 and there was still a line. Thankfully only 3 people were ahead of me. On that note, service here is great. They're very attentive and keep the line moving and talk to every customer. Everyone seems to really enjoy being there. Lovely baked goods. I was a little in awe of lamination on the croissants. I asked for a recommendation for a nice sourdough loaf and came home with the pave loaf. It was really soft on the inside and nicely crisp. You can tell this place really values their quality of ingredients and their bread. I look forward to coming back! read more
This place is super popular for good reason. Stepping inside made me feel like I was back in France! Definitely very authentic and super unique as far as Williamsburg bakeries go. I arrived about an hour before closing on a Saturday and was able to snag a salami, cornichon, and arugula sandwich. I didn't have to wait in line, although they were out of most sandwiches by the time I arrived. The sandwich itself was great -- well buttered, quality salami, and you could tell that the baguette was fresh. The outside of the bread was crispier than I might've liked though, but I'm sure that's because I came so late in the day and it had been sitting out. I also got an iced latte which was very standard (but no complaints!) Overall, this place is great, just wish they had better hours! read more
The sweet nuttiness of Comte & salty Jamon, nestled between a slim baguette, is the perfect bite to keep you going throughout the day. The food's only given a 4-star because we can't do halves, so, it should be a 4.5-stars. Also, everything should be warm, otherwise, the beauty of each bite can be lost in either the hardening that automatically happens once cooled and/or staleness that can set in. Hardness did happen, not staleness but we still wolfed everything down because it's THAT GOOD! The buttery richness of each pastry: The Danishes, our choices: Blackberry and Blueberry. The juiciness from the berries are still in tact once baked. The danishes are flaky largesses of divine greatness with French butter oozing from each layer! The Raisin aux Pain is JUST as pillowy and fruity with plump raisins. The Almond Croissants give slivered nutty satisfaction, with or without the infusion of chocolate. Our last bites of French delights was the Chorizo, Garlic, Parmesan, Carmelita Onion Bagels are as long as your forearm and every bit of savory, salty goodness! Overall, 4.5-stars & a MUST visit! read more
If you are searching for a French Bakery in Williamsburg, look no further! Their baguettes remind me of baguettes from France, and they are decently priced. My first time going, one of the employees recommended I try the Brebirousse cheese. Once I tasted it, I knew I would come back here frequently. If you like stinky soft cheeses, you will love it! I have also gotten the Seeded Campagne bread, which is a sourdough and it goes perfectly when making sandwiches or toast. I haven't tried their drinks yet, but I want to next time I visit this place! read more

I visited New York and my friend who lives in New York said they heard good things about this place, so went to try it out! Food: 11/10! I love croissants and got a chocolate croissant and it was probably the best croissant I've ever had! The layers were great and it had such an amazing chocolate to croissant ratio. I'm still dreaming about the croissant!! Service: 10/10! The ladies who helped me and my sister out were very nice and they had quick service as well! Ambiance: The place was so aesthetic and clean inside. Loved how they presented all their pastries, bread, etc. It was so pretty. Overall, I would DEFINITELY come back when I'm back in NY! Come here. You won't regret it. I live in the neighborhood, but even if I didn't I would venture here because it's soooo good. This is one of my favorite bakeries. Normally when I've come or just walked by there is ALWAYS a line - almost from right when they open. I got lucky this time coming around 10:30am on a Saturday with zero line! The people working are really friendly and happy to offer up recommendations which I love. The menu isn't super extensive and is much more traditional than say a place like SuperMoon. I've been a few times and everything is always good - it's really hard to go wrong! This time I ordered: Almond Croissant: yum. Not the best I've had because I like a lot of the almond paste filling but it's definitely good. -Chocolate Almond Croissant: yum. -Raspberry Danish thing: there were two other fruit flavors available, but the person helping me said raspberry was his favorite so I went with it. Delicious. -Jamon Baguette Sandwich: I almost got the ham and cheese baguette which was half the price but asked the person which one was better. He said hands down the jamon sandwich. It was my favorite. If you like savory, you'll love this. It's literally just cheese and jamon, no spread, but it's so flavorful. -Chorizo Onion Bagel thing: this was really good. Little bits of chorizo spread throughout. Loved it. -96 Hour Pave bread: very flaky. Great for soups, sandwiches, really anything. read more

My favorite type of saturday morning is going to la bicyclette and then going for a walking along Domino Park. This bakery is TINY so don't expect to here it! But luckily Domino is a short walk over! My favorite things + Pate sandwich is incredible + Jamon and cheese also amazing + Honestly alll their sandwiches! you can't mess up Sometimes I will grab a quiche or something for later. It's a quick stop! But an amazing part of my morning hahaha read more

Friends told us if we want to get their best sellers, especially the croissants, we must visit before 9:00am and be patient waiting outside. We took their advice and arrived before they opened at 7:50am. We were the first group of customers that day and there was a line when we came out. The decor of La Bicyclette Bakery is artsy and in vintage style with red bricks. We felt super satisfying with the wonderful smell of pastries while waiting. The options were in a great variety, so we had a hard time making up our decisions. We had their Goat Cheese Chorizo, Almond Croissant, Mini Galette Des Rois with 2 cups of latte. Our favorite was the Goat Cheese Chorizo because the texture was chewy with flavorful cheese & chorizo. read more
