The night we dined, the main was tagliatelle with white bolognese made with duck, boar and lamb which was absolutely delicious (each night has a different main course). Michael helped us choose a wine which paired perfectly with our meal. We had three different kinds of desserts, all of which were great--cafe affogato with an almond liqueur, house made panna cotta and a very complex basil strawberry sorbet. Based on the quality of everything we ate, I suspect it doesn't really matter what night on the calendar you choose to go, it's going to be fantastic.

The 3-meat flatbread pizza was super flavorful and extra meaty! Elote corn dip is thick and creamy, yet tasty with tortilla chips. The salty Bavarian pretzel is HUGE and comes with ballpark nacho cheese. All go well with cider! They have wine and other mixed drinks as well. Parking is ample, and bathrooms with some AC are outdoors as well. I highly recommend visiting as soon as they open to beat any crowds. Fun time!

We enjoyed quesabirria tacos from a food truck for the first portion of our evening, then got wine slushies for the second part. She got the white sangria flavor and I got the peach. Each came with a little candy on top. Both were sweet and delicious, perfect for us since we don't loveeee wine. Every corner of KC Wine is intentionally designed for you to be able to relax, grab a drink, and chat. There is ample parking, but in a grass lot so be emotionally ready, as well as plenty of seating in a wide variety of choices! They have games like corn hole and giant chess. To celebrate the birthday they had complementary s'mores! I grew up in this area and have since moved away but I wish I still lived here so I could be a regular at this wonderful spot!

As part of a birthday party, we joined some friends at Amigoni for the first stop, and we all loved the ambiance (stunning, calm, lovely staff) so much that we stayed over 3 hours! We sat in the back bar/barrel room area (back bar was closed that day), but it was a great space for a larger group to be able to spread out and not take up all the space in the front bar area. The barrels gave the room a cozy feel! I'm a fan of wine, but a lot of our friends are not huge wine drinkers--so while they have a lot of great wine to taste (I'll get to that soon!), they also have local drafts and non alcoholic options for your friends/family members who aren't into wine or who don't drink. For their wines, when I went on a Saturday they had two wine flight options, which the staff said they change about every two weeks! I got the basic flight to get a better idea of their standard wines, and I wasn't disappointed with any of them--and as others have noted, they are pretty heavy with their tasting pours, just FYI! I was able to try the Urban White Blend (chardonnay and viognier), Cabernet Franc Rose (one of their original makes from the early days), Sangiovese, Zinfandel, and the Select (petit verdot and tannat). The space was in a pretty quiet street, across from a pretty non-descript office building. I wasn't expecting too much inside but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the interior had much more personality than the outside. The interior had high ceilings, the bar was on the left and before we sidled up to the bar we explored the space. There was an upstairs space that looked down into the lobby and the rear area had a bar and was also nicely decorated. The rear area had a little more people so we decided to go back up front. We decided to do both of the tasting options and share. I enjoyed the limited production tasting better and the reds over the whites. Like with a lot of tastings, the wine club was pushed but since I was only staying one more day I wasn't interested. However, our host did give us a taste of the T10 which I enjoyed so much that I bought a bottle of that. I shared it with some people who know and enjoy wine and they were also pleasantly surprised with it.

After I spoke to her again, she gave me a bottle and asked me to see if it was bad too. I thought, "Why don't you try it?" That one was bad too so I took it back to her. A couple of weeks went by and the same bottles remained on the shelf and there was no offer to compensate me. I was in there today, and she said they had opened another bottle and it was fine. In other words screw you. I pity the poor sucker who buys it. Unfortunately, the owner doesn't understand that a person who has lived in this community for 45 years talks to a lot of people!

No, it's not the biggest store in the city, but to my mind it has become the best. Why? Three important ways: 1) Best service, never fail. Walk in the store and they ask if they can help, but they stay out of your way if you tell them you don't. Try getting help in some of the other stores? Difficult, typically. 2) Superb selection. Everything I'm looking for and more is here, and the people working here are pros. I asked today about the 200 yr. anniversary Guinness, guy doesn't blink and said they had a run on it but expect to be replenished in tomorrow's shipment. Not an unusual response, particularly the workers in the back who really seem to have it under control. 3) Consistency, see #1 and #2. I get this every time I arrive. No shortages, no folks standing around with hands in their pockets, no bored "when is my shift ending" looks on faces, etc. I can even recycle my wine corks here. I like that. And yet I can still come in and get surprised at what I can find, and that really makes me happy. The convenient parking is also a real plus, and with the laws recently changed the store has gotten larger (no need to separate out things like glassware into another internal "store" etc. Just keeps getting better so happy to revisit this review.
