Must go here!!! Such a gem. The Irvine family is so lovely and they love to share their wine knowledge. The whole business is a labor of love, and so much fun! This is the perfect day trip.

Irving's Just Beyond Paradise is committed to producing regionally-focused wines of an incredibly sophisticated nature. They have a wide range of varieties to suit a range of personal palates. Kansas wines have come a LONG way from the earliest KS wineries of 20 years ago. Ed Irvine's international experience in agriculture has helped elevate their wine making, as has their Vintner who earned his winemaker's certificate through the enology program at the University of California, Davis - the top school in North America. Ed Jr. is an accomplished chef and brings his culinary expertise to the winery's amazing pizza selections! Ed and Cindy are extremely friendly and great at describing their wines regardless of your expertise in wine making. We're incredibly fortunate to have this team's unique set of expertise and talent right here in eastern Kansas. We'll be taking all our friends here!

We stopped by a few wineries on the way to Lawrence for dinner. Irvine's was far and away the best. The owners were incredibly kind and hospitable. One of them told us the story of the winery, allowed us to try a couple of different wines before ordering a glass, and happily served us our wine. It was a beautiful day outside and they had a band playing. We had a blast and I would highly recommend stopping by if in the area.

What a gem just outside of KC! Beautiful property, wonderful service and great wine. Perfect date night. Try the Norton Reserve red wine.

Irvine's Just Beyond Paradise is a unique winery in Laurence. It's well off the beaten path, but most definitely worth the trip. It's in the midst of a beautiful farming area, the rustling cornfields just a few yards away from the main outdoor seating and stage. This was our second visit to Irvine's. We attended their grand opening and this visit was on the "grandiversary." They have indoor and outdoor seating and a small covered stage. On this night, we heard lovely music by Parry, a young local band. The wine offerings were plentiful. They had some items offered outside and many more if you stepped inside. I went with a nice flight of seven tastings. Each was unique and I liked them all. Some of the wines I tried included Catawba, Blackberry, Mead, Valvin Muscat, Lime Zinger, Pear, and an absolutely delicious Orange Creamsicle mead on tap. It came with a small souvenir glass. My friend bought a glass of the most delightful Strawberry Rhubarb. They even offered a Tomato wine, which I kind of wish I'd chosen to sample. Some friendly people at the next table tried it and said it was worth the try, very unique with a bit of zing to it. The owners and employees are friendly and helpful, quick to offer suggestions if you're not sure what to try. There were some beautiful kabobs for sale which seemed to be a huge hit. The wines are reasonably priced. I most definitely look forward to future trips to Irvines and recommend it for a lovely day or evening out.

Great family owned and operated winery. Their mead products are amazing and yes the wines aren't bad either. If you are in the Lawrence area I would say definitely make the short trip out to the winery and support a great local business. This winery is up and coming and local support can only help them to expand their products and grow.

My favorite was the tomato wine, but they also had unique wines aged in whiskey and bourbon barrels that were definitely worth trying.

Folks had to get up and go out into their store and to get a plastic cup of water from lobby area. How stupid and unprofessional. Been to many wineries and tasting rooms and never experienced lack of professional preparation of no real customer service. They just lined us up to collect payment before starting. Why wasn't water on the tables for customers to drink and (or) rinse glasses instead of pouring tasting right after another was in the glass in not a true tasting with resident from the prior wine???? On the way out, leaving the event, the owner never said good-bye or thank you for coming, absolutely nothing said by owner to us a customer as we heading for the door to leave. All of the wines were nasty, and tasted and smelled like a chemical, lighter fluid is what we at my table of folks described these wines as tasting like. No etiquette at all for a businessperson to have no personality at all. He is just making a bad wine and collecting money. Been to a million wineries that have water on the table for guest. Owner just not personable at all. I would never go again or tell anyone to visit this winery. Lawrence has a couple other good wineries I have experienced in our area. Aweful, don't waste your time trying this place if you are a true wine person.
