I have been to this golf course many times and yet I keep running into bad experiences with the front desk lady named JEN MULLINS. She is very unprofessional at her job and is not equal to everyone. She has treated people based on their skin tone and uses her ability as a power trip. She stereotypes people and does not know how to act her age. I am very disappointed that she still had a job as I have had very different experiences with other workers. I hope know one has the experience that I have had with JEN MULLINS. If you have kids who are interested in golf, go anywhere else. I took my 5 year old in on a Wednesday at noon for his first ever round of golf and asked if there are kids prices. The woman working there said "Kids are literally the biggest pain in the ass here. They tear up our greens, bend the flags, and cause chaos. You're absolutely paying for two adults." Now all of that may be true, but it was pretty clear she was not happy to see my kid there and it felt super embarrassing and unwelcoming nonetheless. The Mission Club in Lompoc was much friendlier to him when we went to the driving range. You'd be better off taking your kids there. read more

This little course is worth the money. It's a nice little tucked away, par 3 that is very peaceful and fun. Only thing is the ground is a little hard. Overall this course is worth every dollar. Beware their greens are tough:-) read more

Discovered a small gem in Buellton. My son recently began lessons at the Zaca Creek golf course with their golf pro, affectionately known as Coach Bob. He leads a small group of adults with disabilities, and this has become such a huge blessing to our son. The golf course is tucked away behind a housing development and has a wonderful little park there for the community as well as this nine hole golf range. The views out there are tremendous. The facilities are minimal, but nicely done. Guests are welcome & the fees are very reasonable. What a wonderful place to spend the afternoon. read more

A great Executive Course! Perfect for families and beginners or if you want to brush up on your skills! It's well managed and the greens are beautifully maintained. The staff is very friendly and helpful! We had a great time at the driving range and look forward to our next visit! I have played here off and on for several years, especially to work on my short game. The course has survived some tough times but as of this Oct '24 it is in the best condition I have seen for over ten years. It is an executive course ( 9 holes 2 sets of Tees) and the greens now are impeccable, except for perhaps number 6 which is out on the perimeter, more exposed, and severely sloped. Number 6 (longest) and number 7 (shortest) are round busters so don't let your guard down. Hydration is a must for it can get hot. In my seventies and I still walk and carry my clubs but it can be grueling. I am so glad it is still around. read more

Love playing this course, affordable and walkable but carts are an option. 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 walking. I play this course 3x a week, you can pretty much walk on all the time and there isn't a wait. you can play the course as challenging as you want. The greens are fun and great for all levels of golfers. Great community and love playing on Tuesday and Friday with a chance to win $1,000 for an Ace on the 7th whole. Fun, little course located inside the Rancho de Maria neighborhood. Easy parking and helpful staff at the clubhouse. They only have 9-holes, but it's a great spot to enjoy the fun of golf without all of the pressures of an upscale course. I especially love that they have a driving range! Super affordable prices for playing a round or just getting some golf balls to practice at the range. You can rent golf carts or just walk the course, since it's on the smaller side. There seem to always be people playing when I go or am in the area, so it's definitely a popular spot, but I've never seen it crowded. My only reason for giving 4 stars is because this place is more like a practice spot and not a place to have a fancy round of golf. But it is still a great time! read more

I'm so glad I came across this little gem on Google earth, since it doesn't seem to show up on the GolfNow app. What made this 9-hole course enjoyable was the combination of well kept grass, the distances of each hole, the placement of traps, and the friendly staff. Granted that I couldn't find it on GolfNow, I had to call and check to see what the availability was, which was no problem since the staff is very friendly. Being the terrible golfer that I am, I got to use my hybrid for a couple of holes, which is fun because it has me using clubs that aren't just my irons and wedges. The traps are pretty straightforward and forgiving, hit it a bit over to the side and you're in the bunker. However, make it into the bunker and that's okay, No complaints about the grass, it's clear that everyone - including players - do a great job at taking care of the course. Overall I'd recommend this course to anyone in the area. read more

The staff is always very welcoming and friendly. The course is in good shape and there is a small range to practice, but you have to cut through a few holes to get there. You can rent a gas cart, an electric cart for walking or a regular walking cart. This is a great course whether your are looking to improve your short game or if you're just starting out. Other golfers are typically pretty friendly and it's a good atmosphere. read more

Great 9-hole course adjacent to a park located inside the Rancho de Maria residential community. No tee time required with friendly staff welcoming to both tourists and locals. It is a very scenic course with mostly Par 3's and two Par 4's. It can get busy depending on the time of the year but it is no problem as everyone I have met is pretty friendly here. We were in Solvang and decided to check out this course during our early morning down time. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. No t-time was needed, course was cute, $18 for 9 and $10 for second round, nestled around quite neighborhood with nice Mountain View's. It was a fun little course to drop in. The Ground needed slight improvement, but I'm still giving a 5 stars for a quick round of golf. read more

After 30 years of being loyal, full time customers, some new person at the counter today pissed us off big time today after all the time we've spent with the regular staff over the 30 years. This is even after we had permission to do what we did from the owners Mike and Mac. We will never come back to this course. We can see they are having money issues because the course now looks like a cow pasture in many areas. It's just as well. Pismo and Laguna, here we come !!!! read more

Typically, a terrific little course...very relaxed, fun, and very cheap. Unfortunately, they seem to be suffering from an identity crisis. They allow barefoot and shirtless "golfers" onto the course with 30 pack cans of Coors. This is perfectly fine if that is the kind of course they chose to be. They routinely allow dogs, spectators, parties over 4, music, and they have no apparent dress code. All of this is perfectly fine if that is the kind of golf course they choose to be. It's a 9 hole course in Buellton so this relaxed golf atmosphere is just fine. What is not fine is to be inconsistent with this small town vibe. Sometimes they decide they want to act like a real course and enforce typical course rules. They are far from being a real course but if they aspire to be one, they need to enforce their rules in a consistent manner. They need to be able to reserve tee times. They need to space out the start times correctly. They need to keep the greens green. Not knowing what to expect from this little place on any given outing has taken the fun out of it. It has become a non option. Good thing there are so many well run golf courses in the area. ZACA, decide on your rules and enforce them at all times. Do better! I read more

This is just a little 9-hole executive golf course situated at the end of a retirement-type community but it is open to the public. We decided to play here because: a) The price is right. We didn't' want to pay the $130 to play at other regular sized golf courses in the area. b) We both were feeling rough after drinking wine the entire day before so an 18-hole regulation course was out of the question. c) The hubby was getting anxious to get out there and do some golfing. d) The weather was just spectacular so we wanted to be outside and enjoying it! e) The views here are amazing. The condition of the course is mediocre at best, but I'm bumping it up a star because the staff is down-to-earth and super friendly and the location can't be beat! read more

My hubs and I thought we would give this course a try on a Friday afternoon. The course is in a quiet residential neighborhood. One of the reasons we took up golf is for the peacefulness and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. On about the third green a guy came by with a gas powered blower and was blowing (what we think) were piles of dirt from gopher holes. The fumes from the blower along with the constant blowing of dirt continued for most of our game. We felt like we were being followed and got the creeps from this person. We will not be returning. read more

Good par 3 course. Well maintained. I was a little worried as other Yelpers mentioned they dont like it when you bring drinks from off the course, but they sell 2$ beers. I'll say that again 2$ beers. Also they had a hole in one challenge on the 7th hole add an extra buck for a chance at 1000$. read more

When you see a list of the worlds greatest golf courses of course you will always see Augusta or Pebble Beach. Saint Andrews will certainly be on the list too but for some strange reason Zaca Creek Golf Course never seems to make it. I would think the reason for this is that some golf snobs don't think nine hole courses should be on the list. But Zaca Creek is a wonderful place to play golf. It is no pitch and put! It is a real Golf course, wide open with beautiful views all around. Yes it is mostly par threes with a couple of par fours. The longest hole is probably about 275 or so. You get a great opportunity to hit the clubhouse on the seventh hole and that should be your goal. They have first tee and I try not to miss Bill and Mary's annual golf and fun every summer. This year the theme was caveman Yabba Dabba Do! You would think that a course such as this would be over the top expensive! At least two or three hundred dollars a round. But NO! figure that it will be something close to a buck a hole! If you rent a pull cart add another $3 and 1/3 of that goes to charity. read more

Bring your putting knowledge..the ups, downs and breaks will challenge you every green! Break par 29 for 9 (or 58 for 18). (Ya think?) Not unless you are Jordan Spieth! Zaca now charges a greens for each kid that is brought along to the course who aren't playing. I have played there countless times in the past without this extra charge. Starters At much nicer courses in the Central Coast allow a golfer to bring their children at no charge. Meanwhile a golfer came off the course with their dog. It is a shame Zaca is using the pandemic as an excuse to charge families more. read more

Good 9 hole course with really fun greens. Mostly pay 3s, a short par 4 and a longer one that you can use your driver on. It's definitely target golf and can get a little crowded but a really fun, genuine and casual atmosphere. I will play here again for sure. read more

Growing up in this small town I loved playing zaca. So many fun memories with my friends and family. Until this past weekend when the manager of the course accused myself and 2 of my friends for bringing our own beverages (which I didn't know you could not do and I apologized) and "destroying and running over trees". He had went through a private source to obtain my personal phone number and began to scream and yell at me when I had no idea what was going on. He gave me no name or any major details. He swore at me and threatened me. I went to go and apologize face to face this morning (12/17/19) for the drinking. But I would not apologize for the trees becaue I had not ran them over. Instantly upon arrival he comes up and I shake his hand friendly but tense. He shows me the golf cart that my group supposedly ran over trees. I again told him that I had NOT ran over the trees. He hesitantly believed me. After we chatted for a little. I had asked for apology for how I was treated in the phone the previous day and the response I got was "f**k that, how about you never come to my f*****g golf course again" my reply was "ok" and I shook his hand and left. I will not take being accused of defacing property when it did not happen. I apologized for bringing my own beverages. This interaction was completely unnecessary and very rude, especially coming from a golf course that I have love since I was younger. I hope no one has to deal with such a rude and horrible man like that. And I will 100% never recommend this course to anyone anymore. read more

I spent the past two and a half weeks practicing on their driving range and putting green. From what I hear the course has really come a long way recently under new management and the greens are in very good shape. I spent several days playing 27 and 36 holes of golf for only $14. They have a special after 1pm all you can play for $14. Everyone is very friendly and respectful. Best kept secret in the Valley! read more
