I got a hair cut and a deep conditioning treatment here. Diana is a hair genie. She made my hair look and feel healthy, beautiful, and just perfect. She is super friendly and actually listens to what the customer wants. She offers advise and makes you feel welcome and pampered. The Moroccan Oil that she has used for the conditioning treatment is amazing. It not only smells divine, but also transforms frizz into sleek, shiny, hair. Love it. Hands down one of the best salons I've ever been too. Amanda is amazing and so skilled with her work. I went in as a hotmess with uneven red streaks but walked out as a whole new person with an ombre balayage. The entire experience was so welcoming and friendly and always made sure I was hydrated during my hair session. What a disappointment... I thought I would come to this salon because it got so many good reviews. Last night was the worse haircut/ hair dyes I've experienced. I wish this salon would tell you if they just hired some straight out of school that didn't know what they were doing. I sat in this salon for almost 4 hours and the end result was horrible. This girl had to ask one of the other ladies how to thin my hair out. Wtf?! She had been cutting my hair for 30 minutes already after asking someone else. I knew I was doomed from there. A haircut and that looks nothing like what I expected. My hair was literally down the middle of my back and this lady had enough to work with. First off let me just say that I have been to NUMEROUS salons in Sacramento...let's name some of them: Lush, Mecca, Allure, Space 07 and DEEDA. Each time I pay a fortune and leave feeling less than excited about my hair. In fact most of the time I leave feeling slightly disappointed. I am usually a snob about where I choose to get my hair done because I am always hoping for that wonderful connection and total "AHA" moment where I leave the salon feeling like I just had an amazing experience and can confidently claim it as my own. I usually choose the trendiest salon with the best Yelp reviews. One day I decided to go out on a limb and purchase a Groupon for Zad. I was a little hesitant but figured I had been let down so many times that it wouldn't hurt to take a risk. I made an appointment and drove my happy ass to Carmichael where I had the best experience ever! Diana was my stylist and she was amazing. She is down to earth, not made up like a drag queen and has a natural beauty that isn't typically what you see in a salon. The salon is quiet and quaint there are no bells an whistles, but it is tastefully decorated. I told Diana I was looking for darker color, my hair to be thinned out and some layers added to my thick, long hair. Diana used Davines hair color on my hair (which I totally love!) It wasn't as strong as other colors that have been used on my hair, but gave it shiny, beautiful color. I have had so many compliments on my hair that I can't believe it. Not only did I pay $59 for a cut and color, but I left the salon feeling so happy and beautiful that there is no way that I could never go back. I will be booking my next appointment soon and can't wait to have such a positive experience again. I recommend Zad and Diana to anyone :) read more

I bought a groupon for a haircut and blowout/style. I had a good friend that used to do my hair, however, she doesn't anymore. So, needless to say, I was way overdue for a haircut! I don't have any crazy requests or anything of the sort. I do have very thick and wavy hair which can sometimes pose a problem for an inexperienced stylist. Diana was the one who did my hair and I cannot say how happy I was with it!! I had low hopes, only that, it was a groupon and its hit or miss with those things - especially personal care. Diana was very personable and friendly. I described to her vaguely what I wanted. I knew what I wanted in my head but had a hard time explaining it to her. She knew exactly what I wanted, though! I absolutely love Zad's! I have been seeing stylist Serina for over a year now. I always leave with the best cut and color. Serina gave me a color correction the first time I was in because I was unhappy with the color from another salon. I have been to many fancy salons in the past and never had experienced this level of professionalism and service. The salon is beautiful inside with lots of lighting, beautiful goddess artwork, charming and cheerful background music, and even a small boutique, in case you need a new lipstick or a scarf. All services are very reasonable. I have had Sherrie wax and dye my brows. She is very gentle and a real pro. I had many compliments on my brows afterwards. Back in May, I moved from Carmichael to Orangevale. I still see Serina once a month even though it's a 45 minute drive for me. It's worth every penny. I recommend you give Zad's a try and see Serina. Went there because of the good yelp review... Saw a new stylist called Adrienne. The advertisement stated cut and color $59, but they said that's only for touch ups and also long hair there will be an extra $25 charge (a pretty steep extra charge) So basically the special is just a scam.. Secondly the stylist is constantly trying to get me to buy extra services and products.. The haircut she gave me was uneven. She did not bother to check the lengths from the front so after the blow out was washed away one side is significantly longer than the other side. The color also did not completely cover my gray hair. Pretty disappointed and will not be returning. read more

She was meticulous and detail oriented with my hair cut, helping me determine what kind of style I wanted and checking in with me throughout the cut. It's been a while, but I felt compelled to write a review for Diana. I bought a groupon for a combo of a hair cut and a full head color with Diana for $59. I'm so happy that I bought this deal. She was patient, attentive, and helpful as I explained to her what haircut and color I wanted. The result was gorgeous! I couldn't stop checking myself out in the mirror. At the end, she even gave me a coupon for a discount for my next service (too bad the discount had expired before I could find time to return for another service). Diana was so awesome that I brought my younger sister here for the same service. She trimmed my fringe free of charge! My sister loved her transformation also. Her hair was very unhealthy with lots of split ends that made her hair stopped growing for years now. Diana was able to transform her hair to look healthy, sleek and shiny. I always get my nails done at this salon! There are no words to describe how awesome Katya is!! She is the best!!! I never wanted to get my nails done because I was afraid that acrylic or gel will ruin my nails. But then Katya introduced me to shellac!! It's like gel polish but way better because her polishes are professional and great quality! She can draw any design you want and it will last from 3-4 weeks!!! I love my nails now and I get so many compliments :) you should all try shellac because it will make your nails pretty, and strong!!
