She listened really well to my rambling about my goals for my hair and somehow understood me! She asked follow-up questions and was very thoughtful. She checked in with me throughout the experience - making sure the water was the right temp, that I liked the music she was playing, etc. Best of all - my hair looks AH-MAZING! I don't do any real pampering on my self during the year. I'm not into Mani and Pedis. Some of my girlfriends go monthly to get their nails done and they look terrific. I wish I had nails like them, but just aren't committed to that. I'm so afraid of getting a nail fungus so I pass. I have gotten my nails done and few times, but that time has passed for me. For me it's now all about getting my hair done. For the past 12 years or so I've been coming to Toniy. She does a fabulous job. My hair continues to stay healthy which I love. I've heard horror stories about people getting there hair fried and that's never been the case for me. It's been a success every time. It wasn't till 12 years ago that I started coloring my hair. I always wanted to be blond so I had my hair done blonde. That lasted for a while and I loved it. Now I've gone back to being more natural. My hair now is back to brown. A lot lighter then my normal hair color, but no one really knows that as they have only know me with my hair as is since it's been 12 years. People forget how things used to be, unless they look at old pictures of me. I love getting fussed over and having my hair washed, conditioned, and styled after the color treatment. She does such an amazing time styling my hair. I love the beachy waves she does. I wish is world last longer then it does. I've tried to do beachy waves on myself and I can't get it like she does. I keep it in as long as I can. If I don't roll around in bed and sleep on my back it will last a couple of days. I try my best to get my hairs done right before my vacations so I can look good in pictures. I tried to get an appointment right before our next trip, but she's going to be out of town. So sad. I'll just have to do my best to look presentable. I do have an appointment soon as I get back. Thank you Toniy for doing my hairs perfectly. Today I had my second session of partial highlights and balayage with Marcie @marcie_makingthecut…read moreand I am AMAZED with the results. A little hair background: I have fine, black Asian hair and my end goal is to get platinum blond. Prior to my first appointment, I was all about ashy blond hair. However, I had quite a bit of warmth near my roots and my ends were light, so when I kept using purple shampoo, only my ends would get ashier, making my roots appear even warmer due to the contrast. When I showed up to my first session, Marcie listened to what I didn't like about my hair and what I want to eventually achieve. She then gave me different options depending on my budget ($135, $175, $200), which is very considerate. I went with the $200 option and she let me know that since I had a bit of correcting to do (get rid of the brassy roots and even out my previous blond), it would be a little more expensive this time, but now that I have an even canvas to work off of, next session would be cheaper. Fast forward three months later to today, aka my second session. I've been super excited to go back to Marcie for her to work more miracles on my hair as this time, I wanted to go icy white. She told me that since I do naturally have black hair, I may not be able to get there and I understood that and she once again, gave me the option of partial highlights ($165) and full highlights ($200). I went with the partial highlights and she was able to get my ends super super light. Another new thing that I wanted to try was bring the blond up to my roots, but I noticed it looked a little chunky after she dried my hair. We talked about this and she patiently explained that is because my natural hair is a level 1 and transitioning to a level 7 is a very big difference, but she was willing to apply a little bit more toner in my roots just to soften it up a little more and I was super super happy with the results. TLDR, I would most definitely recommend Marcie if you're looking for a friendly, knowledgable hairstylist who takes the time to explain your hair's situation. Also, she has very reasonable pricing and is only booked about ten days ahead. Love her work and patience!

When it comes to switching from blonde to red I am really picky and have had several hairdressers mess that up. When I went in search for a new hairdresser, I knew I wanted someone who could give me a really natural look. And boy did she deliver! She described her style as natural and "lived in" which I absolutely love and felt like it was just what I was looking for! From the moment I stepped into her adorable little studio salon I already could tell we were going to click. She took all the time i needed to explain exactly what I wanted and come up with a plan I felt really good about. I felt like she gave me the exact Pinterest/TikTok inspo that I was looking for and I am just so excited about it. I also loved that she took meticulous notes so that when I come in again she can either do it exactly the same or she will know what to do if I want any adjustments. To top it off, she is super sweet and easy to talk to which I love in a hairdresser. She really is the best and I have definitely found my permanent hairdresser for as long as I live in the Sacramento area!

Cassidy was the one who worked on me, and she was seriously the sweetest. Super friendly, professional, and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time! The location is a little tucked away, but once you park and walk up, the signage is easy to spot. Inside, it's super clean, bright, and relaxing. They started with a scalp analysis, which was really cool to see before the treatment. We did the middle tier package my sister booked, and it lasted about an hour. At first, I was a little ticklish and kept getting goosebumps lol but in a good, relaxing way. It was such a unique experience.
