Passed this spot many times and had not yet gone in. Today was the day. The shop is small, well stocked with a large variety of baked goods. It smells so good inside!! Repeat customers were making long orders of breads, pastries and cookies. The line going out the door says something about consistent quality. Tried the chocolate and regular pound cake samples on the counter. Light and fluffy with buttery flavor, but I was looking for more. Asked the opinion of a fellow customer and got some good suggestions. Went with the cherry cinnamon roll danish. It was just the complexity of layers I was craving. It was also huge so I cut it in four and had one piece. Saved three for future enjoyment! read more

When I need to bring a Kosher treat to friends, this is my go-to place. Everything is delicious. If I stopped in every day I'd eat my weight in carbs. The challah is like a cloud, and their rainbow cookies are really great. The marble loaves are wonderful! The meltaway is a dream and I especially have to keep myself from buying multiples of these. Everything is fresh and everyone who works there is helpful. I was attending a dinner at a Rabbi's house and they made recommendations that were a hit. Go here for great fresh baked goods! Picked up a catering order for a shiva and they loved it! Also my hub and I tried an apple danish and couldn't believe how soft and fresh it was! I used to work in a bakery and that pretty much killed my love of sweets but I have to say I was very impressed!!! I remember our things being very hard and not tasty and this seemed like a very traditional bakery that made many of the same items I had sold. However this apple thing...This was good!!! In terms of opportunities...part of my catering order contained challah for the sabbath and the large brown bag had the price written EXTREMELY LARGE AND PROMINENTLY displayed which was a little embarrassing as it was a gift for a loved one's passing. Also, I wish there was delivery or door dash because there was a line out the door so I saw a few people who much have been in a rush bc they were very annoyed...but I guess at the end of the day, good things come to those who wait. read more

I first heard about this place no later than 2 weeks ago from what I call him "NJ Food Guy." It was voted one of the best bakeries in the state from the guy and being that it was close to home, I had to try it. Service was good being that it was my first time. The lady let me try some Challah or a brioche rolls which were good. I probably drives past this place so many times and didn't realize it was in here. Good kosher bakery in Fair Lawn that has a wide selection of items. Meltaway- one of their best items that I have tried. Soft and full of chocolate. It is like a glorified Babka/danish. Comes in a mini if you want just enough for a couple of days for 1 person Apricot rugelach - this was ok. The apricot preserve did not taste very fresh/natural and there should be cinnamon and maybe raisins in the rugelach. Cinnamon danish- this was soft and fresh and full of cinnamon Brownie-this was very good. Had a dark chocolate frosting and had chocolate chips inside. It was moist, soft, and rich how a brownie should be. Came in a package of three brownies. Marble cake-this was good but could have used some frosting on it. Attempted to stop in to purchase a gift for friends we were visiting. Stood in line waiting to be served and watched as multiple customers who came in after me were served ahead of me. An employee asked who was next after I had been waiting and watched two customers cut the line in front of me. I waved my hand to indicate I was next and the employee saw and ignored me and again asked the customer behind me what she wanted. Pretty unbelievable, both the customers behaving so badly and the employees ignoring a customer. As a doctor, I returned my gift to the shelf and walked out with my dignity. Took my business elsewhere for the gift. A shame as my fiancée enjoyed stopping in on his own when in town. Was upset to hear how I was disregarded. It is always those most miserable in life seeking to mistreat or bring others down with them. Hoping the staff finds a way to improve their customer service, as it will drive patrons away. But also I hope for their own sake they'll come to realize there's more joy in kindness than petty disrespect. read more

Zadies is the best bakery EVER! Not just in comparison to other kosher bakeries, but in general. Their melt away is the most rich dessert I could ever dream of. AND IT'S PARVE! I absolutely love it (so much so that my mom gifted me a melt away cake for my graduation)! Before Purim, I love to load up on the hamentashen. I have to say that this was my first time to Zadies and it was absolutely terrific! First of all the smell when I walked in was amazing. More importantly, the service was great. The woman that helped me seemed to be the owner and she couldn't have been nicer. The other employees there were taking care of other customers and were so nice as well. I needed sweets for a Shiva that I was attending for the passing of my friend's mother. She made recommendations for me and packaged the items so carefully and with such tender loving care.
