This just happened again today. I was greeted by Krystal, who is an absolute customer service superstar. Her demeanor - her professionalism - her absolute focus on solving my problem - her reaching out for an additional resource when needed - her DELIVERY of the result - TREMENDOUS. My only regret is that I didn't record this with my camera - her service could be demonstrated to an ATT national training class under "how to retain and develop great relationships with raving fan customers". Let me summarize, until today I went back to the store 3 times, I have called customer service many many times, and all in all I have spent 16 hours on trying to fix the issues and it has not been fixed yet. I tried to call the store directly its impossible, the number they list on the web-page is a central number and even they could not reach the store for 30 minutes. Never mind to get a District Manager its like trying to get a VP from the CIA . Why the store does not have a DM name and phone number, why the store does not provide a number directly on the web page, why they do not train the employees better, why we customers have spend 16 hours to get something done right, that should take at most 2 hours. (All times when I visited I was there at 9.50 am just so I do not have to wait) All in all Verizon and the Customer Service is D- or 20% at most)

At about 10 o'clock last night I managed to schedule an appointment with the Apple store at Westfarms mall in West Hartford Connecticut so that a tech could look at it in person. My appointment was for 5 PM today. I got there a few minutes ahead of time and was greeted pleasantly and asked to sit down and they would be with me in a few minutes and they were. A technician asked me several questions about the problem, seated me at the table and said he would be right back. He came back with his Macbook, connected up my iPad, put it in DFU mode, and in less than 30 minutes I had ios15.0.2. Through the process he showed me how I could've done this at home if it ever happens again. Terrific job by great people at the Apple store!

I walked into this store to buy a product. Instead of walking the sales floor or doing anything…read moreuseful, a clutch of employees were leaning against tables talking. What? You can't stand on your feet? It has to be tush to table? Cool. They saw me walk in and go right to the product I wanted. I know this because the product was five feet past them. Since this store can't just have registers like a normal store, you need an employee to come over and ring you out. I had to go interrupt the gossiping teen boys (ok they were men in their thirties but as far as I care, they had the souls of gossippy teen boys). Nobody who works at this store seems to understand that it is their literal job to help customers. Finally a woman helped me. Interesting. Only saw women helping people. All the men standing around talking to each other like they had a thumb up an orifice. After insisting I give her enough personal information to successfully steal my identity if the store wanted to, I was allowed to purchase some headphones. When I left, the manchildren were still talking about their video game, as they had been the entire time. I think the 20 min I spent in there showed me enough about the management of that location that if I were making decisions, I'd be cutting people. Crap leadership leads to crap behavior from your team and crap experiences for customers is the end result. Thank god I was just passing through and don't have to go back there. Slack jawed buffoons. And one overworked woman.

I have very mixed feelings about this location. The first…read moretime I came here (back in September), I was told that if I dropped my phone off before 3pm it would be fixed the same day. I arrived a little after that, and my phone was repaired and ready the next day with no issues -- so my first experience was positive. Four months later, my screen started malfunctioning with no physical damage, which should have been covered under warranty. I scheduled an appointment online for Monday, drove 30 minutes, and when I arrived the store was closed, even though both the website and phone system still said they were open. There was no notice or update. I called the next day before driving there again and was met with attitude about them not notifying anyone they had been closed. When I arrived later that afternoon around 4:15pm to drop off my phone, the entrance still wasn't shoveled. I had to climb through snow just to get inside. The next day, I was charged $99 by my insurance because the claim was automatically changed from "warranty" to "accidental damage," even though the repair was not accidental. (This was done by the insurance company, not the store.) When I went to pick up my phone, I was told my SIM card tray was missing -- which was not true, as it was in the phone when I handed it over. It was inside an OtterBox-style case that snaps together, so it couldn't have just fallen out. The employee I originally gave the phone to claimed it was never there, while the employee helping me at pickup (who was much kinder) offered to order a replacement. I ended up ordering one myself because either way I would have had to wait two days -- but if the store ordered it, I would have had to drive 30 minutes back to pick it up. It made more sense to just pay the $6 and have it delivered to my house. That said, I want to give huge credit to the second employee who helped me with the insurance issue. He spent nearly an hour on the phone fighting with the insurance company, dealing with dropped calls and transfers, all while still helping other customers, just to make sure I wasn't wrongly charged. He didn't have to do that, and I truly appreciate him for going above and beyond. Because of him, my experience went from incredibly frustrating to being handled with genuine care and effort. I just wish the overall process, scheduling, and communication, was more consistent and professional.
