I stopped in this particular Zales Outlet location, which is in the Waterford Lakes Town Center shopping plaza on Alafaya Trail. It is convenient not only for the people living in the general area, but it is also convenient to Highway 408. I walked in this location and while the woman that was assisting me was friendly enough, she was obviously a little disinterested and unless I was throwing money at her immediately, she was like "look around and let me know if you want to see something." Eventually, I did find something. I was both wandering the store and looking at their website and found a pair of diamond cross earrings. She gave me a price of about $250.00 and told me that was with everything, the earrings, the warranty and tax and everything. I kind of caught the part about "warranty" and asked how much without the warranty. She said they strongly suggest getting the warranty, but I asked again and it dropped it down about sixty dollars. So, the warranty was about one third the cost of the jewelry. I opted out of the warranty and the price fell to about $180.00. I guess that I was not appreciative of this subtle upsell and ultimately, I do not think that I would return here again. read more

This place is kind of sketchy. We were looking at some rings that were on clearance. At first they were happy to let us handle the rings and look them over as much as we liked. So far, so good. They quoted the price to us, and we decided we wanted to do a little research of our own. I asked for the SKU of the ring that we were interested in. They said they couldn't give us the SKU. Hmm... After that when I asked to see the ring again, they barely wanted to show it. Instead of handing it to me, they placed it in one of those folder things. When I picked the ring up, they were quick to take it back from me. I think they didn't want me to read the SKU off the tag. At worst they're shady. At best, they're bad at sales. read more

Do better! Besides the poor communication, I've been to this store a couple times this year, and their hours are always changing...again, no alert other than a paper sign on the door saying what the hours are for that day. I would give less stars if possible. This store is awful. They tell you one thing and do something else. I bought an ring for my wife and took out a Zales crest card. I was told 18 months interest free and they charged me interest at the 12 month mark. When I call the credit card they said they couldn't do anything and I had to contact the store. When I contacted the store they said it's been too long and nothing they can do. When I bought the ring the saleswomen lied to me about 18 months. This is an old, cruddy store. The display cases are broken and dirty, not at all optimal for looking at the brilliance of diamonds. It's like serving a gourmet meal on a garbage can lid. I'm also a bit leery about the shady sales techniques at play here. Depending on the person and the day, you can go in on Monday and get one price then go in on Tuesday and get a whole nother price. Would give 0 stars if possible. After ONE WEEK of my wife wearing her wedding band, it was missing a stone!! When we brought it back, the manager was unapologetic and rude. NOT ONCE did we receive an apology. Never got the feeling that we were valued customers. My new bride and I were obviously dissatisfied, extremely embarrassed, and now put into a position where the best offer is to replace the ring with the same one and run the risk of the same thing happening. The manager was uncomfortable because I casually used an expletive because of the situation this business created and the horrible experience she furthered. Very dismissive and lacked the needed compassion for this occasion. Took my money and left. I will not spend my hard-earned money on garbage and be treated like dirt because this woman wasn't in the mood to deal with a dissatisfied customer. You would be better off buying jewelry from the side of the road. This is the most inconsistent, unprofessional, and disorganized chain. If I didn't know better, I would seriously think we were dealing with Walmart. My fiancé first bought my bridal set from this location, then we spent some time in Tucson for the summer. After having picked his wedding band, my fiancé and I went to the Zales in the Tucson mall for him to get fitted and to maybe see the ring in person. The sales associates there ACTUALLY threw the ring mandrel (sizer) at us for him to fit himself, picked up rings that looked NOTHING like the ones we showed them, INSISTED that they were the one we showed them, got the WRONG sizes of those [incorrect] rings for him to try on, and then argued amongst themselves in front of us. When we finally tried to place the order with them online, they checked us out using the WRONG shipping address after us having given them all our information repeatedly. Needless to say, we cancelled our order placed it on our own from home. A few months later, we wanted to upgrade my engagement ring. Little did we know that for a corporation which claims to be a leader in the diamond industry, that was a strange and impossible request. After calling the Zales in Gainesville (Oaks Mall) to inquire about a consultation with a jeweler (supposedly an "in-store service" on the Zales website), we were literally told they didn't know when one would be there, since they only had one come in every few months. As ridiculous as that sounds, when my fiancé tried to even find out how we would know when that magical time would be, he was told that they literally had no idea: we apparently just needed to keep calling every day for however many months. It gets worse. We called the Orlando (Waterford) location in November, thinking they might be a little more organized. Sure enough, they told us they could set up an appointment, but we needed to call back after Christmas because they were very busy at the moment, which was fine since we would be there for the holidays. We called today, three days after the 25th, and all of a sudden, the same woman who told us to call back then in the first place said it would now take weeks to get an appointment (maybe sometime in January), because they were "swamped." They DID, however, give us the wonderful alternative of mailing my ring off to someone for an indefinite period of time, with no pricing information whatsoever, and without any idea about design options altogether. Given the fine show of competence this corporation has displayed, we have nothing but confidence in this amazing option. So that's what thousands of dollars on engagement rings, wedding bands, and insurance plans gets you at Zales: service not even fit for a grocery store. Maybe well after our wedding, perhaps in time for 20th anniversary, they will have finally figured it out. read more

I was running some errands and saw that Zales was having a sale. I took a look around and was asked if I needed assistance. Until I see something of interest I prefer to be left alone and the staff was accommodating. I browsed the different cases and saw a few things that caught my eye for my wife. All of the clerks were with customers so I waited patiently for one to finish with their customers. One of the staff was able to assist me and she let me look at what I needed and answered my questions. It only took me a minute to make my decision and she was able to wrap up my purchase in about 10 minutes. I am an impulse shopper for jewelry for my wife and they just happened to have a cute set of earrings and a matching bracelet that had her name written all over it. I suspect I will have to pop my head in the door the next time they are having a sale to see if there are any other little accessories mama will like... UPDATE: I ended up going back to get the matching necklace... I probably should have just grabbed it the first time but I could not make up my mind at the time which one to buy. We have the lifetime protection plan and she went on about how we probably wouldn't be able to get it done because of position or size. Mind you this whole conversation happened over the phone after talking to another location that said it would be perfectly fine to do there. We were only going to go there for distance sake. I would have to say out of the 4-6 people I have encountered here only one was ever welcoming and nice. The rest act like they are doing you a favor, especially the manager. She is a real pleasure. Would give this place negative stars if I could. I stopped by to pick up a resized ring, and they treated me like they were doing me a favor by letting me walk in through their doors. They couldn't be bothered to be welcoming, and I sat down and waited patiently while they were assisting their current customers. When they were done helping their customers - one sales representative pointed her finger at me, and said "You! Come here. What do you want?" - trying to summon me like some sort of dog? I couldn't believe what I was hearing, so I gave her a confused look on my face. She summoned me again, wearing a disgusted look on her face (perhaps she thought I didn't speak any English? Or that I was hard of hearing?) When I tried to encourage her to be a little more friendly, she vehemently denied any wrongdoing (can't take any constructive criticism). Asked to speak with the manager to file a complaint, at which she appeared and they teamed up on me, the manager quick to defend her sales representative's actions, and adopting a mocking attitude. "Oh, you want to file a complaint? What do you need? A pencil? A piece of paper?" At which point I gave up and proceeded to leave the store, to which they responded with "Oh, so you're NOT going to file a complaint?" Contacted corporate to let them know how rude this place was. Not trying to pull the racist card, but I noticed the middle-aged caucasians walking into me being warmly greeted and quickly serviced, and in a much friendlier tone. Other reviewers gave this place a 1 star, and for a good reason. They lack respect. Notice how only ONE other reviewer gave this place a 5-star review. I bought my husbands wedding ring here less than a year ago. We also bought the warranty to go along with it. He has already gone in for his 6 month checkup and everything went smoothly, they said the ring was in perfect condition. Recently, in the last couple of weeks the inside part of the band seemed a little bent. We brought the ring in this weekend and we are completely shocked at the lack of customer service and the attitude we got from the employee we delt with. She was extremely rude and acted as of we were an inconvenience. There was one other customer in the store and he was being helped by another gentleman. All we wanted was an easy, quick fix to the ring. She said it would take two weeks. Her questions to us were inappropriate and unprofessional. We went across the street to Delores and had it fixed in 10 minutes for a very reasonable price. To get a much scaled down version of what I wanted, they let me know it was going to be $6,800. I let them know that another place could do the same for under my budget and all the manager Ruth and her employee could do was talk bad about the other store. Telling me the ring must not be real gold and the diamonds are terrible quality, which is not true at all. I have had the same experience with this store as everyone else. The manager Ruth, was extremely inconsiderate and RUDE!!!! She embarrassed by basically calling my ring cheap and fake repeatedly and then told me it could not be cleaned because the diamonds aren't real. Thank God my husband and I have an understanding that at the time we did not have the finances for a big nice diamond ring, however my husband bought me what he could afford and to have someone down talk it was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. It made us not ever want to go in the store again. We shopped here quit frequently. Another 0 if possible! I purchased a diamond engagement ring back in August 2016 from the Zales online store. I received a good deal to have the ring shipped to a store for pick up, so I choose the Waterford Lakes Zales Outlet. Boy what a big mistake!! When I went to pick up the ring, The lady behind the counter was polite but very quick to get me out. She opened the box, said "Oh, what a lovely ring!" and closed it and sent me on my way. Now being the guy that I am, I had planned an extravagant proposal but needed sometime with this, so I hid the ring for a little over 2 months till the right time. She said "YES!" What an awesome feeling! But, then this feeling was countered by anger and resentment. Two days after the proposal, we went to Zales because we noticed a nasty mark on the top of the ring. We spoke to an older lady who then proceeded to tell us about "Inclusions" but that was all. Didn't look at the ring or anything. At the time, I didn't know about them, but I quickly learned all about them after. We were ok with the decision that it was an inclusion but something still didn't feel right. About 3 days later, we decided that we wanted a second opinion on it. We brought it back to the same Zales Outlet. This time we spoke with two men about it. After one of the men decided to look at the ring under a very cheap looking hand held microscope, he would slowly drag a tool over the surface of the ring. I noticed the tool snag a few times, but didn't say anything regrettably. He then turns and has his colleague look at the ring as well. The other gentlemen then proceeds to look at it and turn and say, "Yep, just an inclusion, nothing to worry about" I then asked about the marks on the top of the ring, He said that the inclusion was not surfacing but in the ring. Which didn't make any sense because you could clearly see a "x" shaped mark directly on the surface of the ring. After this experience we still were not satisfied with the answered we had received. There was a Kay Jewelers a few shops away so I decided to try my luck and what they would say. We brought the ring into Kays immediately after seeing the two fellows at Zales. I told a fib to the lady behind the counter that we had purchased the ring from their online store and wanted to see what was up. She then took the ring, Cleaned it, Examined it very closely with a proper magnifying scope, and brought it back to us. She told us there is most definitely a surfacing inclusion, which was infuriating to hear after being told by Three Zales reps that this was fine. Afterwards she offered to replace the ring free of charge. Wow! What amazing customer service from a place I didn't even buy the ring from. And NOW, the diamond has decided to shift from it's mounting. You can clearly see it has moved to the left of the original setting, yet Zales wants to charge to fix it! What a joke! So now my main issue is, Zales doesn't want to honor fixing my problematic ring because I waited to propose past the 60 day return policy. Well, I wouldn't have waited if the Zales customer service was actually worth calling worthy. Once this store takes your money, they don't care about rectifying the situation. If you're in the market for a ring, I definitely do not suggest Zales! Their policies are not set in place to help protect the customer, only to keep your money once their inferior products are noticed. read more

The experience I had in this store was amazing. I guess they have a new manager because I had never seen her in there before. They have a couple new faces as far as employees go as well. The one gentleman, Chris helped me out with the pieces I was interested in. Every one of the employees greeted me and everyone else that walked in the door. Chris was even working on something else when I walked in but he promtply stopped and came to help me. It did not used to be like this here, and it seems everyone has a renewed energy. This store used to do so well in the past. What happened? Who hires these people lately? As soon as you walk in..... You're not even welcomed. All of the "sales professionals" are setting down at the very back where the engagement rings are. Poor information and presentation were the only things that they got right. Ruth, the store manager, sets a great example of how NOT to provide customer service. Immediately she gets on the defensive if one were to question something. I am pretty sure that her attitude is the cancer in the store and driving the business away. You're supposed to give a great experience..... Without the consumers, the business will not survive. Ruth will never understand that. I don't blame the staff on how they conduct themselves because look at they have leading them..... Please avoid the store in Waterford Lakes.
