    Ginger chicken with broth
    Leanne G.

We came here for a weekday dinner. I was so excited to see a new restaurant in this location. It was relatively quiet with just a few other tables occupied. We ordered prosecco, which came in individual bottles. We had 3 entrees to share: mixed vegetables with tofu, ginger chicken with a soup broth, and pad Thai with chicken. All were delicious. Flavorful and fresh. The tofu was a bit over cooked but otherwise it was good. The ginger chicken was a bit difficult to share but the flavors were good. Glad we came and will plan to come back when we're in town again.

Came here during the weekend early afternoon and it was such a calm dining experience, great ambiance. The service was great and the food was tasty, fresh, and delicious. It was made quickly which was so nice because we were pretty hungry! Will definitely be back again to try more items on their menu. Would appreciate some clarity on their spice levels available on the menu. We had the seafood pad Thai and the pad see ew with chicken and shrimp and both were very very good!

This place is legit. A rare diamond. We came for a late lunch on a Saturday. We ordered the Larb Salad with chicken -- phenomenal flavors and quite large -- as an appetizer to split. For mains: PANANG curry and the PAD KRA PAO MOO GROB. Decent size servings, fresh, fresh, fresh, and the perfect amount of kick. We also ordered a brown rice, which is more like a multigrain rice ($4), and a fried egg side ($4). Friendly service and lots of love went into the food. Clean; simple decor. We will be back.

Service is great as soon as you go inside, didn't even take a minute to get a seat. Food was fresh, delicious and looked exactly how they advertise it.

solid thai food with lots of flavor. I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered and want to try more. Highlights for me were the duck curry, crab rangoons, and curry puffs. Of course the pad Thai and iced tea were good as well. Staff was very nice. What an amazing addition to the area!

We arrived in the restaurant and were immediately greeted and seated. They have a well rounded menu with curries, noodles, salads, etc. The two of us shared the spring rolls with rice paper, tofu, lettuce, cucumber and carrots. It came with a peanut sauce and a vinegar type sauce which we mixed together. These were very fresh and tasty and good with the dip. We also loved the sautéd egg plant and asked for the tofu to be fried and chicken teriyaki with veggies and sesame seeds. On top of some brown rice this made for the perfect bite. Definitely worth a visit!

Growing up I frequented Cafe Sparrow for special occasions. So my first time stepping through the threshold to the Green Papaya presnted a strange feeling. Although sparrow will always hold a special place in my heart I am not at all hating on its new host, the Green Papaya. The food was fresh and crisp presented with precision. My only regret was not taking more photos to share for your eyeballs to drool over. The coconut shrimp was fire. The green curry with chicken was one of the best I've ever had. We also ordered some Thai fried rice and spicy wide noodles with crispy pork. All good. Thai iced tea was also on point.

Not to date myself, but that's in the range of ~30 years ago. We had a usual booth, usual orders, and we saw the same waitstaff and cooks every week. This was a tradition I looked forward to all week long, since it was one of the only times I got to eat breakfast out at a restaurant regularly. While I live up in The Peninsula now, my parents are still down in Aptos. It was long overdue, but I had been telling my wife for years when we'd drive by the story of how I used to go there, and she'd always suggest that we go back one day. Well friends, that day finally came! On a recent trip to visit my folks and a childhood friend, we decided to take a family outing to Sunrise Cafe on Sunday morning for a good ol' nostalgic breakfast. PARKING: There is both street parking, and a dedicated lot in the back. Since the main entrance is located right on Soquel, I definitely recommend using the back for a more private and safe parking option. They also have an entrance in the back so you don't have to walk all the way around! SEATING: You check in towards the front end of the counter, where the register is. Since we came on a Sunday, it was full when we got there. There's a counter with eight (8) seats, as well as a half dozen or so booths on the left as you come in the front, and some other seating on the right. It did appear as if they shortened the tables, as they didn't reach out to the end of the booth seats. We ended up having to wait around 10 minutes, which wasn't too bad. DRINKS: They have a lot of the standards you'd expect to find at a cafe. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice (apple, orange, grapefruit, cranberry), soda (Coke products), iced tea, and mimosas ($6.50!). A few of us ordered coffee--good, not epic. The OJ is from concentrate, otherwise I would have ordered a glass. FOOD: A nice 3-page menu of breakfast and lunch options. Many of the standards, with combos of eggs and breakfast meats (bacon, sausage, ham, Linguisa, chicken apple sausage). There's a list of scrambles, omelets, eggs Benedict, and "Solar Delights" which has corned beef & hash, country fried steak, and a tofu veggie dish. For lunch they have a variety of sandwiches (hot & cold), burgers, and salads. We went for breakfast, and between the four of us we ordered: Sunrise Special (2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, home fries & toast or biscuit), French toast, corned beef & hash, and the Western Scramble (Corralitos jalapeño sausage, onion, topped with 2 scrambled eggs, chili beans & cheddar cheese). The food was all solid. The corned beef was chunky and seemed fresher than "from the can". The French toast looked tasty, and my dad said he liked it. My mom enjoyed her Sunrise Special, as a standard cafe breakfast. I ordered the Western Scramble and it was pretty wild; a huge mound of hearty deliciousness. It was enough food that I was able to take some of it, plus half a biscuit home and enjoy it for another breakfast a few days later. The potatoes were one of my favorite things growing up, so I do wish I had ordered a side, or something that allowed me to enjoy them on their own. OVERALL: This was a great nostalgia meal, and I'm super glad I came back. We found out that they changed ownership around four (4) years ago, so while it's not quite the exact same place, it's pretty darn close. I appreciate the friendly and hardworking staff, and will definitely come back on a future visit home! IG: @bbnem.eats

But we have yet had a bad experience here dining. My last visit my friend and I decided to share appetizers so we could try a variety of items and try a few things on the menu. Everything was so tasty! The onion rings were crispy and came with bbq sauce, one of my fav items we got! TIP: It is a good option to order for a large group, it is a large portion for $10. We also shared the burrata and tapenade, I like that it came with balsamic glaze for a savory and sweet effect. We got the Mac and cheese and added short rib. It was a really large portion too! It was as $15 for the Mac and + $9 for the short rib I believe which I didn't think was a bad price at all for what we given. We had a ton left over which will last us 2 days as a side dish for dinner later on. Buffalo wings came with 11 wings, they were garlicky and the buffalo sauce had great flavor. Overall this is always a great spot to drop by for dinner, drinks, and/or appetizers. It's easy going here, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the food is delicious.

Just the right ratio of salad and dressing and there were plenty of ahi tuna. Our server was great and the food came fast. She had a few recommendations which we ordered and she constantly checked to see how we were doing. 4 stars because the inside looked so much better than the outside. They could spend more time upgrading the outside seating area especially by the fence. Parking is a little rough when it's busy. We just got lucky we found one right away. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you're in the area.

It also took a long time to get a box and a check, even after sitting for a long time and then asking for them. So I'd say service could be better, especially for the price.
