The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm welcome and a huge smile. And that's just from the lovely decor with upside down crate barrel lights sprayed gold. The owners and staff are genuinely friendly and really seem happy to make your dining experience or takeaway what you'd expect. Which for me, is always paramount next to the quality of the food served.
Let me clarify first, I've only ever had their pizzas and it's one of the better ones to be had Melbourne wide. The dough is a thin crust, oven baked to perfection and with just the right amount of crunch in the crust and chewiness in the rest of the base. Not flaky or crumbly either. Let's move onto their toppings... The fior di latte is amazing, accompanying nearly all the topping combinations and just simply melts in your mouth. Many a pizza comes drizzled with a generous amount of extra virgin olive oil and we all know that's good for you. Do try the sausage and basil, vegetarian with radicchio, and the capriosca. You'll notice on the menu that the combinations don't try too hard by cramming too many ingredients and just keeping it pared down to four subs five at the most makes for a supreme pizza.
There's a good selection of gelato at the front too so that's great in summer for the locals. Widening their offer are also various pasta dishes as well as salads to chose from.
Whilst the prices may be bordering on the upper end when it comes to pizzas, you do get what you pay for in this instance and this place really gives it's neighbours a run for their money. Bring your date here when you're both comfortable eating with your hands in front of each other as that's always the quickest and best-est way to enjoy really great food ;-) read more
