So, I went to Zara this last weekend to return some items I purchased over a month ago. I walked up to the counter and explained to the rep that I lost my receipt and I would like to return the items. She looked at me and the items then back at me, picked up the phone and said, "Kaiser, there is a guy up here trying to return some clothes." Thirty seconds later, Kaiser (I assume) walked up, looked at me and then the clothes and me again and said, "It looks like these have been worn." I purchased a top less than one month ago, wore it once, hand washed it and noticed there was a snag in it. I had my receipt and was planning to purchase at least another $100 in clothing. The cashier called the manager up and he said since it was worn and washed, they could not take it back. I called customer service, explained my situation to them and they said if the store doesn't approve it, they will not do anything about it. I've worked retail and NOT ONCE did we ever deny a customer's return or exchange. I currently have shopped only at Zara but that has come to an end. The most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. Took me two hours to buy three gift cards.. 5 hours later I only had two gift cards and am told I need to wait another hour for help. And that was through an online support chat. Completely disappointed. Finally was told I need to wait up to three days to get my gift card. These are gifts for children out of state and we will be traveling so my daughter suggested this site. Do online shopping all of the time. Was beyond disappointed with their support & service overall. Now I have to dispute one gift card and figure out another gift so I can get everything in the mail before we leave for out of town. I went to return an item and because it was one month old the worker at the front called a manager for me. It makes me feel better to see the other reviews on here with POOR customer service. I was with my family exchanging an infant sized t-shirt to a bigger size for my son. I had the receipt and expected no problems with it. The young girl ACCUSED me of washing the item and trying to exchange it. Are you kidding me?! The original tags were ATTACHED to the shirt. Why would I even think to do something like that? I told her that it was never used and the tags were still on it. She just looked at me and kept going with the exchange. No apology whatsoever. The item came from the Oak Brook location, so maybe their style of that shirt looks more faded...I don't know. Either way, I would never return anything used and THE TAGS WERE ON IT! In this store, you're not a customer, you're a nuisance. They make you feel like the annoying neighbor that barged into their house uninvited. I had the worst experience with online shopping with Zara. Purchased two pair of jeans for my niece. Gave them to her Christmas Eve. Never saw anything with return policy. The beginning of 2018 my niece told us the jeans did not fit. I called Zara and they told me even though we went to their website on black friday and Christmas isn't until Dec 25, we were not told we had 5 days to return the jeans. I asked for a review of this situation and they said we will call u back, never, they did not return a call. I called back and they stuck with return had to be made by Dec 31. With so much online purchasing i have never heard of a company to give 6 days after christmas to return an item. This company has lost me as a customer, but, after reading the reviews, they are rude, unhappy, treating customers like they are a nothing. Their reviews shows one after another how unimportant customers are to Zara. They are not cool, they are plain rude with antique return policy. We order online all the time and have NEVER encountered a company that just doesn't give a darn about their customers.Most online companies give a holiday return until January 31, 2018, but not Zara, they really do not care.
