Amazing food! Very good community center and best of all, it also has a prayer area AND Somali Cafe. 10/10 would recommend.

I was in Minneapolis visiting, and I noticed during my short time there that there's a large Somali community in the city. I've never had Somali food before, so I just looked up Somali restaurants with the highest ratings and the most reviews, which weren't many. The man working behind the register was incredibly nice. He saw we were trying to decide what dishes to try, and recommended the goat with rice. We went with his goat with rice recommendation and a dish call Kay Kay. However, when I was ordering at the register, there was so many flies just flying around the cashier guy and his register. Behind the serving counter, it is all boarded up so you can't see the workers cooking or how clean it is behind the counter divider. I went to the bathroom and I noticed a small random unlabeled bucket/small open bottle by the toilet that had liquid in it, which I honestly don't even know what it is. With the flies and the bathroom, I really questioned the entire restaurant's cleanliness. I told myself while I was eating that I wouldn't be surprised if I got food poisoning from here. The next day came and I actually suffered food poisoning. I don't want to knock down a hard working small family restaurant. I genuinely think their food is delicious, and the people are so kind. They just need to work on cleaning the place and getting rid of the flies.

I got Iyan with Efo Riro, and it was one of the most delicious dishes I have ever tasted. It arrived hot and very fresh. So rich and full of flavor! The portion size was great for me, I was so full and satisfied. My mouth watered after every bite. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

It's a small carryout only spot. The woman working there was very nice and accommodating. I informed her that I'm vegan and inquired about a few of my favorite Nigerian foods: egusi, greens, jollof, and beans. She didn't have egusi. She stated that she had greens but they're made with fish. She then offered to make me a fresh batch sans the fish if I had time to wait. I most certainly do! It wasn't a long wait either. I got a hefty container of food for about $15. There was enough food for 2 days (if I wasn't being greedy). I tried my food right away. The greens were very good and clearly freshly made with quality produce. The beans were good. The jollof rice was SLAMMIN!! Perfection in the flavor department! I'm unsure how long they've been open, but they seem fairly new. They're located in a strip mall with other small, locally owned businesses. Again, it's carryout only; you cannot sit in and eat. (I ate in my car.) They also offer catering services. Be sure to check out this spot if you're in the MSP area.

Tip: always call ahead. They usually say 15 minutes but I come in 20 if I don't wanna wait, still no complaints - perfection takes time. The food: now, granted, I am an African American woman who grew up on southern recipes but for some reason this food gives me comfort and love. Always flavor up. Always fresh. Always prepared nicely. I usually order the collard green, or spinach, and I use to enjoy cassava but have since strayed away because of the greasiness. They have the perfect amount of meat in the dishes, and the portions are friendly. Overall, I love Mila's. The people who serve there are so sweet. I now drive 24 minutes every weekend to get my fixing and I have no regrets. Love ya Mila!

We had lots of food to take home. Partly we didn't read carefully and thought the collard greens and okra were side dishes but they also have meat and are accompanied with rice. We had the Attieke with chicken, the Jollof rice with chicken, and the dry rice with fried fish (croaker). And a sour sop drink to share. The food took about 20 minutes and was very flavorful. I especially liked the okra and the fried plaintains.
