Unfortunately, my order was incorrect. I ordered the tongue torch finger plate with extra fries, when given my order I looked in the bad and noticed it did not have utensils so I asked for some. Thought we'd give Zaxby's another shot since the closed for 6 months, remolded, and have been open again for at least a month. Drive thru is SUPER confusing along with weird parking. Food was cold, my chicken finger plate looked like someone intentionally flung cole slaw across the whole plate; what happened to the cups? They did away with half the menu. There's no longer a dining area it's drive thru or a walk up window which was super inconvenient since we came to dine in. Food still sucks, service is subpar, rebuild seems like a toddler did it. Every time we return to Clemson there seems to be another chain that's opened up on this street. Zaxby's falls in that category, and remains a go-to spot for those craving chicken tenders and sweet tea. In fact, beyond that there isn't much on the menu (except a few salads). Meanwhile in a land filled with an endless number of Bojangles this Zaxby's remains in business because it also does a good job dishing out chicken fingers. If you're in the mood for chicken fingers or a salad with blackened chicken, this is your spot. Beyond that - there's not much to say. read more

This is not a review of this restaurant, food or food service. I was not actually able to order anything at this restaurant. I pulled into the parking lot Sunday afternoon at about 5:30 PM. The lot was absolutely full of cars and based on their new parking lot configuration, I could not even figure out how to get around the building and into the line to go through the drive-through. I am an engineer and I have never seen a more disgusting layout for a drive-through operation at a restaurant. This company just closed for six months to rebuild the store and it is an absolute joke. The traffic flow in this parking lot is abysmal. I sat in the parking lot 17 minutes waiting to get out of the parking lot because people did not know where to turn if they were trying to get in the order line. There were two workers who seem to be just walking in and out of the building and not really doing anything. I asked one of them where the drive-through line supposedly started and he was unable to tell me. I cannot believe that this restaurant was given permits based on their parking lot and drive-through layout. Right next-door Chick-fil-A went through a complete rebuild last year and it is absolutely machine. Like in the precision with which their operation works. This Zaxby's location is a total joke. Was busy as can be.. went in drive thru and guy named Joseph i believe helped us get our food quickly and moved a cone (in the rain) to ensure we got out of the drive thru after we got our food. The food was pretty decent for fast food, but the service was AWFUL! I am not from the south and have never even heard of a Zaxby's before, but they had a long line and we thought it might be because the food was so great. Boy were we wrong, the line was huge because it took almost 10 minutes to get food after getting to the window and paying! The order came out wrong, and the staff was very difficult to deal with. Zaxby's does a good job of consistent food and service, which are two things that you want to be consistent in this kind of restaurant. This particular Zaxby's seems to be busy (it is, after all, in a college town) and also seems to have less dining area than the other Zaxby's I have visited. Aisles are narrow and tables are close. But on balance, it meets the standard for what you expect when you go to Zaxby's. read more

Second time I've ordered a Cobb salad from this location.... first time I had to go back and ask for my bacon, then I received what looked like a half a piece of bacon tossed on the side. Yesterday I went back.... received NO onion strings and NO egg. You guys literally have FOUR SALADS. How is this so hard to get. As a current Clemson student, I'm on Tiger Blvd quite a lot and have been to this Zaxby's a number of times. They usually offer fairly mediocre service, with unenthusiastic staff interaction and decent food. Tonight (10/16) at about 6:20 I came on in and placed a to-go order. After finding out that the coke machine was broken and I needed the relatively nice cashier to get my drink from the drive through, I sat down to wait only to hear from the 10 others waiting for food that they had already all been there for 30 minutes. We all sat and waited on our food and one by one everyone but us slowly filed out. I went up to the counter a couple times just to check if it was coming up and what the kitchen was doing. At this point I started to hear the cashier from before (who I also found out was so new he hadn't even been trained to use the phone) tell new customers that it was going to be a 30+ minute wait. I started speaking with him, and he told me they were super understaffed that night and were really struggling. He apologized a bunch about our order and went back to check a couple times. Eventually (around the 40 minute make for us) I asked him to go and check to make sure they hadn't lost the order. He came back and told me they were gonna get to it now. 15 more minutes later and we actually got our food! I made a check just to see that it was correct and everything after such a long wait. The only positive thing I'll give them is that the food was actually correct and tasted decent. But serious...I don't think a to-go meal was worth $14.45 and 55 minutes of our time. Just shocked by the lack of managerial presence and severe understaffing. You have got to let customers know what they are walking into, and taking measures to cope with issues (even if it means closing your dining room for the night and focusing on drive through)! This Zaxby's won't be getting any more of my money as I can clearly see what kind of business is being run here. read more
