I love this store. I first learned of ZaZoo'd a couple years ago when they were at Localtopia when we walked by their booth and the items on the outside drew me into the booth. When you walk into their store you'll see that it is packed full of unique items and you just got to pick a direction to start looking at. It really isn't a store that you want to zoom through because they have so much you'll miss something cool. I really had nothing in mind to buy but want to check out their brick and mortar location, I had been wanting to since I saw them at Localtopia but never got the chance or was in the area when they were open. If you are looking for a gift, this is a great spot to look, especially if you are looking for someone that you don't know what to get for them or want something they probably do not have already. They have everything from neon signs, kitchen items, candles, art, pet items to cards, etc. Many things have hilarious sayings on them that had me cracking up, personally. The cards alone are ones that you just don't see anywhere and I bought a few. Ben is always wondering where I find my crazy cards and leave him smiling and shaking his head. Hey, you gotta keep things lively right? The service is great, they are present without being in your face and will gladly help with any questions you may have like on pricing since the walls are lined with items that are high up and out of view for pricing. This place is just full of life with so many theme like designs and decorations for your home. I think I could call it a Z Gallerie times 10. You just need to step in here and see for yourself. I LOVE this store. If it was up to me, I would decorate my entire house with nothing but the stuff in this store! It's a little eclectic. Which is probably why my house is not decorated in nothing but the stuff in this store. My wife loves the stuff like the shrimp cocktail bowl that says "Shrimpity Do Dah" but not the towel that says "You Can't Say Happiness Without Saying..." well, never-mind. You get the point. That brings me to my next comment. I've been here a few times. Once or twice with my kids. And once without my kids. It's much better without kids. First, you don't need to worry about them breaking a Shrimpity Do Dah bowl. But more importantly, you don't have to worry about Dyfs coming to take them away when they go to school and start saying some of the stuff you read on some of the signs and keychains hanging up! So, should you go? Definitely. With the kids? Maybe. And should you get the Shrimpity Do Dah bowl? I shouldn't have to answer that one. read more

I needed a gift for my future mother in law, and found the cutest sea globe from this shop on Central. A few days after the purchase I must've broken this piece of art. I reached out to the store on Christmas Eve to ask about their return/exchange policy- and within 5 minutes I received a response! Best gift shop in St Pete. I go often and always tell friends and travelers to stop in. You never know what you'll find. Great customer service, too. The people who have left negative feedback don't truly know and understand the owner. And they obviously have an ego-filled vendetta against David due to jealously. David is one of the most talented and brilliant business owners I've ever had the honor to know. He has almost single-handedly turned Central Ave in St Pete into one of the most inclusive destinations in Florida let alone the US. Everything he touches turns to magic. Zazoo'd is one of his many businesses and the first store I shopped in when I moved to St Pete. It's also the first place I go when I think of holidays gifts and stocking stuffers. This place is awesome! We stumbled upon here as one of the many places during gallery night in Saint Pete. This is located on Central Avenue not very far from the Acropolis restaurant. I don't remember seeing it before so I'm assuming this is a relatively new store. This place had so many cool gift items a lot of which were themed for the holidays. Many items of humor too. Interestingly enough, there were also a lot of nautical theme items which added to the Saint Pete charm. Everything was very nice we decorated and organized. An attractive feature for those walking by, a drunk Santa and Rudolph bar scene display at the storefront window (took a photo of this). Cute and hilarious! I would definitely recommend this as a place to go shopping for a gift of novelty and/or party Items including, but not limited to decore and special hosting products. read more

Fun, fabulous and fascinating. This is a home decor, furniture and a little bit of this and a little bit of that store that is just a joy to experience and a pleasure to prowl through. Even if you are not looking for a specific piece, item or element, take a tour because you might just find something that will change your mind and really make your decor! The eclectic mix of merchandise is truly beautifully displayed throughout and smartly laid out which makes it easy to meander to, through, around and up and down the walkways between shelves, tables and furnishings. There is a sense of humor evident in some of the selections but there's also a strong sense that someone with taste, talent and an eye for making a room go from ordinary to extraordinary is curating this eye-catching inventory. I loved the classic car ice cooler, swanky picnic baskets and slightly naughty jewelry that give a new meaning to the phrase "you read my mind." This is a really unique shop. It has many things that I have never seen before that would make amazing gifts. From quirky soap to wooden signs to every type of beer sleeve you can imagine. There are magnets, glasses, keychains, dog products and much more. If you have a friend that loves cuss words, there are plenty of items. There are a few things I was interested in. However, many of the prices were very high. All of them were high enough to convince me not to make a purchase. However, I did enjoy my 20 minutes or so in this shop. They specialize in interior design and private events, and it shows! Every inch of this store is spotlessly set up. It is FLAWLESS. If you want pillows that are reminiscent of old billboards/post cards welcoming you to St. Pete - that were custom made for the shop, you'll find them. If you want hand painted pillows that have the perfect sentiment for today, but may not be ... perfectly politically correct, they're here. This is a really pretty store with lots of nice things, but I'm writing mainly to talk about a great experience I had with the staff. My friend and I were in there with her four-year-old, who was really into playing with the little beans that the store uses as a display base. Rather than being concerned that a toddler was touching the nice, delicate things for sale, the man behind the counter went and got a new little tupperware, filled it with the display beans for the kiddo to play with, and gave it to us! She played with her beans and tupperware all through the weekend- such fun for a tiny person! It was such a sweet, considerate, above-and-beyond thing to do. (He also cut a carnation of the floral display and gave it to her.) We were so charmed, and I wanted to hop on an acknowledge this nice man. read more

This locally owned and operated shop has an interesting mix of antique and contemporary home decor, mainly with a beach and/or nautical theme for almost every room of the house; this would generally not be my style, but they have some really cool (and in some cases unique), good quality items. On my first visit I found an antique chess set, adorable lobster claw crackers and cups, a fantastic steamer chest and other stylishly customized furniture, brightly painted salt and pepper shakers, beach themed pinups, soaps, linens, mirrors, etc. The shop is not large, but the friendly proprietors really have an eye for maximizing their space and making it look unique. They also have a healthy sense of humor, as their higher priced pieces are mixed with kitschy, affordable and vintage inspired items, ensuring a little something for everyone. This is what makes DTSP fabulous. This store is filled with creativity. Get inspired by the unique furniture, lighting, and other home goods that are stocked in this beautiful place. The staff is fun. They offer design services, but the one of a kind gifts are what they are all about. They have some naughty gifts that had my friends laughing. That was what we left with, a bag of fun. I got a great gift for a very hard to shop for friend, and her dog too! Yes, they have a unique pet area as well. They carry t-shirts that you can only get there. The best one being, "St. Pete, because we are better than Tampa." Nuf said. What are you waiting for?! Beware of David Fischer and Zazoo'd design services. We retained David because he told us that he had direct access to the maker of a high-end furniture line which we were interested in and his discount would offset his design costs. After he took our deposit, we did not hear from him again for five months, he could not deliver on his promise, and he did not return our money. The designs he did show us were not cohesive or tasteful and amounted to nothing more than a cut and paste of cheap items he pulled off the internet. We had a lot of patience for him to get it right. Nevertheless, he started calling us names, making us wrong, and belittling us to cover for his own inabilities and to have an excuse to keep our money. David should have kept his job at the Olive Garden because inasmuch as he loves the design business, he is simply not talented, doesn't have resources he asserts he has, is emotionally immature, and he has no integrity. read more
