Dog with mange
Mia S.

Writing this as a PSA, SPOTTED DOG WITH CONTAGIOUS SKIN DISEASE!!! this dog park is amazing and nice but me and a couple other owners noticed someone brought their dog here today and their dog has mange which is highly contagious and the owner let him play with other dogs and was unfazed which is even more frustrating the dog is a bigger dog with black fur I tried to get a picture and the owner drives a pickup truck if you see this owner again do NOT let your dog interact with his!!!!! Thankfully someone had dog soap but I had to scrub my dog down leaving today.

The best dog park in the area! There are great separate enclosures for small dogs and large dogs. Both are VERY spacious. It is well maintained and both sides have ponds! My dogs enjoy the small dog pond so much but the large dog pond is HUGE. So if you have water dogs or retrievers, this is the place for you.

Pup in the small dog side.

Z Bonz Dog Park should be having their grand opening on April 9, but the park seems to be open for those that are antsy to use it. An article I read said that because they are still doing construction, it could be closed without notice (like the other morning when I drove up), but for the most part, my pup and I have been enjoying the heck out of it! We go to the small dog side, that has PLENTY of things for her to climb and jump off of. They even built a small pond for the little pups! The big dog side looks like doggie heaven. The pond is huge, the space is vast, and the dogs look like they're having a blast. So glad to see a new dog park in Fort Worth on the west side. If it seems like it's missing things, like dog watering, I'm guessing it's because it's not officially open yet.

We love the pond and the dogs there so far have been nice! No fighting! It's also a huge dog park, haven't even seen most of it.

My dog loves walking here. I was scared of the many homeless camp areas. I don't think I will take my dog back.

Ask the Community - ZBonz Dog Park

Is there a gate?

Yes

Do they check the water ponds that the dogs swim in? With all the deaths from south Texas water has me scared to bring my dog out there but he's needs to go play!

My dog got a horrible bacterial infection from the water. We spent $200 on antibiotics, dewormer, and special food because she vomited and had severe diarrhea for 5 days.

Is there smaller fenced off areas for timid dogs with anxiety so that off leash dogs can still do their thing but she can be comfortable In her own area?

Not really, they have large dog area and small dog, under 40lb area. Probably try the small dog area, its never really crowded and most dogs are playful.

Does the park have lighting for when it gets dark?

Yes they do have lights. Ft. Woof, on the eastside, is also lit at night.

We prefer the small dog side but when there isn't too many dogs on the big dog side we like to explore that side too.

Aaaaamazing!!! This…read morepark checks every box. Walkable, bike friendly, and perfect for a solid run. The trail is paved and lined with mile markers, which I always appreciate. Each bridge has clear street signs and access points with stairs or exits, so you can hop on or off wherever you need. There are also location markers along the trail, (for emergency purposes )which is great for safety in such a large park. Playgrounds are scattered throughout, and there is even a basketball court tucked under a bridge with really cool graffiti that gives it some personality. The park is clean. Like noticeably clean. Restrooms are mostly portable, but many are enclosed in small structures so they blend in better and are not an eyesore. And yes, they were clean. You will find kayaking launch areas, fishing spots, picnic tables, and benches everywhere. There is plenty of space to spread out without feeling isolated. It is not overcrowded, but you are not alone either. The crowd felt easygoing, and cyclists were respectful. I felt completely safe the entire time. There are multiple paths to switch things up, plus a few shorter gravel routes if you want a change of pace. I even spotted e bike stations along the way. Honestly, this park sits right in the heart of Fort Worth and makes it feel like you do not even need a car in this part of DFW. One of the best runs I have had in a while.

I have a German Shepherd, a Doberman and a Puggle. I take all of them to the big dog side and have never had any issues. People are always so friendly, it's a ginormous park with some agility equipment towards the back, 2 water stations, It's pretty clean so you don't have to constantly look where you're walking for land mines - nice! Plenty of seating so it accommodates a lot of people without feeling crowded. Covered picnic tables, benches under the trees and along the fence lines. They always leave there totally exhausted which is why I take them to begin with. Like everywhere else it does get and stays muddy after a good rain storm but they do have a wash off station right outside of the gate so bring a towel, it's nothing fancy for sure but it does the job. I did see a couple of scuffles but like all good parents they immediately separated them and then they saw the aggressor and his daddy took him home for a time out. Okay, the only reason for the 4 star- a random guy commented on my dogs and when I asked him which dog was his he said he didn't have one, he just liked to come and watch everyone else's. I was getting ready to leave soon anyway so it just kicked me into high gear. It just seemed off, maybe he really liked dogs and I read too much into it????

I will just give you the CliffNotes version in that the park is very clean - perfect for running/jogging, walking, and sitting around to enjoy the outdoors. Here's the new impression about how kid friendly it is. First off, I love their splash pad. The best part of it is it's free! We tend to go on cooler/cloudy days when the summer sun is not beating down on us. They have benches and tables for families to sit around the splash pad. You can't bring your pets or food to the area. After a lot of running and laughing, my son's eyes do get a little red from the chlorine, so wear glasses or goggles if you want to avoid this. Right next to the splash pad is the playground. I'm so glad that it is covered, so we can go when it's sunny outside, but not too hot. The playground is a good place for the kiddo to either warm up or cool down before the splash pad. I would say the splash pad is such a fun distraction that my son spends the majority of his time at the splash pad and the playground is just a second thought. It's never super crowded even on the weekends. Perfect amount of kids playing around. There's a nice private parking lot right next to the splash pad. I'll be back with the family again and again.
