Best dog park in Fort Worth. Every other dog park we seem to visit is mediocre. What I love is how often it gets maintained. Closed every Wednesday till 5:30PM and Open on regular hours Monday-Sunday! They need to update the hours as we thought it was closed all day on Wednesdays. We just went today at 6pm. Large dog and small dog sides with dog rise off/water station. Multiple benches and seats to enjoy. I love that my dogs can swim in the dog lake! *JUST A WARNING* Be careful letting your dog into the pond. Maybe I should have known better but my dog contracted a parasite/virus from the water when playing in it. Please just be cautious. Otherwise the rest of the park really was awesome. read more

The dog park was very spacious and clean. My dog loved it and the pond feature is so cool for them to swim. The only major downside is the stickers that are covering half the park on the left went entering. I was constantly worried my dog would get one stuck on his paws. The best dog park we have been to yet!!!! Hugeeeeee playground especially for your big pups! We have been to several other dog parks in the metroplex, but this is for sure has the largest running space. Our 80lbs baby would do rounds at full speed without any interruption. So far, this is the only dog park we know of that has a pond which is very dog friendly. Our puppy loveeeeeeees to play in the pond, but still chickened out and only stays in the shallow area lol. The problems we keep running into at other places are the humans not picking up after their pups, "landmines" everywhere that you have to constantly watch where you walk. Here there are still some, but definitely much less. They also have long nice trail that wraps around the whole park for those that want to take your pup on a good run! read more

This is the best dog park. I've been to in Fort Worth that has a pretty large pond. The only negative is it has a couple porta potties outside for rest rooms. It needs a restroom with the place to wash your hands. Also, a few more benches to sit. read more

Writing this as a PSA, SPOTTED DOG WITH CONTAGIOUS SKIN DISEASE!!! this dog park is amazing and nice but me and a couple other owners noticed someone brought their dog here today and their dog has mange which is highly contagious and the owner let him play with other dogs and was unfazed which is even more frustrating the dog is a bigger dog with black fur I tried to get a picture and the owner drives a pickup truck if you see this owner again do NOT let your dog interact with his!!!!! Thankfully someone had dog soap but I had to scrub my dog down leaving today. read more

I'd call this one of my favorite dog parks in the whole country! I was visiting my brother in Fort Worth with my husband and husky puppy. It was a beautiful day, perfect for swimming. Well, Oz (husky) thinks every day is perfect for swimming. I love that ZBonz has a large and small dog park, each with its own little lake. Not the cleanest water, but at least the parks are fenced-in. Cool fact from reading other Yelp reviews that this used to be a golf course. Explains the two bodies of water. Tons of space for endless amounts of dogs to run around without feeling claustrophobic. Great spot for your pup to learn how to swim from others who are more confident. Plenty of shade and seating for humans, especially on warmer days. Lots of parking so you don't have to walk far to get to the park. It seems that the main detractors are rumors about stupid people dumping toxins into the water or homeless people roaming around. Fortunately we didn't encounter either of these things. The best dog park in the area! There are great separate enclosures for small dogs and large dogs. Both are VERY spacious. It is well maintained and both sides have ponds! My dogs enjoy the small dog pond so much but the large dog pond is HUGE. So if you have water dogs or retrievers, this is the place for you. read more

I hate that this old golf course closed. But glad that the land was not turned into something commercial. I was scared to play this course because of the homeless on the back nine. They wld scare the snot out of you when they would talk to you from the dark in the trees. Anyway. It's still scary. Homeless men still stalk it. I haven't talked about the dog park. Just scared to take the dog out. I go to walk and no one bothers me. However it's not if, it's WHEN. I try to go. It's close to my house. Pretty cool dog park and the biggest I have ever seen! It can get a little muddy when it rains (welcome to north Texas) currently there is quite a few homeless lurking around outside the park on the edges and there is usually a fair amount of people and dogs inside the park so I have never felt uneasy but With all of the signs posted plus the lurking I do worry about my car while I'm in the park with my dog. (But that's me being paranoid) so far I have met every varsity of dog and owner at this park. Most are very welcoming. read more

Beware of the water features! My dog was thirsty and took one little lap of water before we snatched her up and was terribly ill for 4 days before we had to pay over $200 in vet bills for medicines and tests. I had heard the water features have been closed before because of similar issues. Other than that my 14lb cavalier/Yorkie/bichon mix LOVES spending time here. She's nervous around dogs (submissive not aggressive) so it's been good to have her learn how to interact with other dogs! The small dog side is huge which is nice since lots of places have small smaller dog sides and huge bigger dog side. It'll probably be a while till I get the nerve to bring her back again because of what happened, but it's a great park. Just beware! read more

I stopped in on the West side because I really needed to take a call, and just found this place! There were a lot of people here in the middle of the afternoon! Dogs were playing, and owners were hanging out! It really seemed to be a cool dog park! Of the few places I have been that are built for dogs, this one seemed really intuitive. Someone took a lot of time in planning out the playground and "wash off" stations! 5 STARS! Way to go Fort Worth! read more

Z Bonz Dog Park should be having their grand opening on April 9, but the park seems to be open for those that are antsy to use it. An article I read said that because they are still doing construction, it could be closed without notice (like the other morning when I drove up), but for the most part, my pup and I have been enjoying the heck out of it! We go to the small dog side, that has PLENTY of things for her to climb and jump off of. They even built a small pond for the little pups! The big dog side looks like doggie heaven. The pond is huge, the space is vast, and the dogs look like they're having a blast. So glad to see a new dog park in Fort Worth on the west side. If it seems like it's missing things, like dog watering, I'm guessing it's because it's not officially open yet. read more

About twice a week Krumm (my long-haired miniature dachshund) and I saunter over to the small (under 40 pounds) dog side and spend some time with our friends....both four legged and two legged. Oddly, it seems I chat more with the four legged variety and Krumm seems to snare his attention from his two legged pals. ZBonz has everything an apartment living dog needs. This rambling park has two sides: The Large Breed (seven acres) and The Small Breed (approximately three acres) both fenced in areas with lots of running room, water features, size appropriate obstacle courses and benches shattered all across the grounds for the tired humans that needs to rest from running with their canines. They even have water fountains for when we need a quick drink to refresh ourselves after activities. There is only one item that would be helpful to me.....if there was a large built up landing towards the entrance or exit that our small dogs could stand on while we attached or unattached their leashes, that would be sooooo helpful to us older dog owners who may have problems reaching down. Krumm and I love the fact that we have a place to allow our Fur-Babies to socialize, recharge and unwind. Everyone seems to know all the dogs by name and it's obvious that the dog community is watching out for each other. So take your special friend to ZBonz Dog Park and join the fun. read more

Great place for all size dogs. There's a man made lake for them. multiple space to do anything, play fetch (land or water), training ground. So much shade, it helps with the heat of Texas. And then there's fountains with doggy bowls for them to also drink. There's also a wash station for the dogs that like to roll in the dirt been going for almost a year now, not a lot to complain about. read more

This review is written from my doggy's point of view: I love running around in the large dog park. There are so many new friends to meet, including their owners. All of my buddies were very friendly and curious. No one was aggressive, and everyone was very eager to know each other. There were even some small dogs that joined the large dog park to play. I was able to run freely to my heart's content in a huge loop around a big pond, and then easily venture to the agility area. I ran so fast that my owners got their share of exercise trying to chase after me. Even though it was 40 degrees outside, I dared to dip my paws into the water and let loose. My owners tried to keep an eye on me to avoid running in the muddy areas. Seven acres for the big boys and 3 acres for the small boys - too much excitement/action for me to poop. If I needed to go #2, there were waste bags everywhere. It was nice that there were pet fountains all over the park for me to stay hydrated. My owners had to push the fountain for about 5-7 seconds before water came out because the fountains were freeze protected. I am glad this park has flexible hours: 5am-11:30pm. I wish my owners would take me here every day because I'll have a ripped body in no time exercising like this. read more

This is probably my favorite dog park in the DFW area. Little Sam loves it here. This park is always clean, even the portable bathrooms. There are poop bags/stands around the park so owners will dislose of their pups feces. The dogs and dog owners tend to be pretty friendly and excited to share the park with one another. I have yet to have a bad experience here. The little dog park is significantly smaller than the big dog park, but the smaller dogs-including Sam-always seems to enjoy the playground area and the pond. I'd definitely recommend this lark to any dog owner. P.S. there is an indoor dog wash next door to the park just in cash your pup gets dirty. Also, occasionally a larger breed pup enters the smaller dog section due to the weight standards per each area. When they do the owners are typicly very watchful of the breed and are very responsible. read more

We're on a road trip with our two labs and thought this would be the perfect thing for them a little out-of-the-way but worth it because it sounded so inviting. Unfortunately once we got here there's a big sign that says closed on Mondays! They seriously need to update their hours! read more

This park is covered in trash. I took my dog here to swim, as it's one of the only off leash dog parks with water access, and the dogs are literally swimming through trash. read more

What a treat for the area! I can't wait to make this a regular family gathering place. My dogs really enjoyed the pond. I enjoyed the other dog owners. Most everyone you will meet is like you; a really cool person who loves doing things with their dogs. The park is divided into two parts. One is for smaller dogs and one is for larger dogs. I was torn on what to go to as I brought my 3 1/2 month old red heeler. We braved the big side and wasn't disappointed at all. She was greeted by the locals with a quick sniff and they went on their way. I was put at easy by watching all the interactions all over he area. It is what a dog park should be all about! The dogs and their peeps. I hope to see y'all there sometime soon. If there are play dates I don't know of any but I would enjoy meeting up with other ACD owners. Why not 5 stars? We've been going to ZBonz since it opened and enjoy the experience for the most part. However, lately, there have been more and more break-ins in the parking lot and even homeless people hanging out INSIDE the big dog part and using the dog washing station as a place to take a shower / sponge bath. They generally leave us alone, but it makes me think, "What next? How will this escalate?" The park itself, in my opinion, needs some work done to the areas surrounding the "pond," where there is mostly dirt, which, on rainy days and busy days with lots of wet dogs running around, turns into mud. ZBonz is a great "basic" park and considering it's free, I guess we get what we pay for. It's A-OK, but could use improvements. Just beware of the parking lot...check your valuables. And, please, be a good pet owner and pick up after your pet. ":O) read more

Love this dog park! There was a scare for awhile about someone dumping antifreeze into the pond, but that has been a few months ago. The majority of the dogs are well behaved! The pond is lovely. Tons of space for the big and little dogs! One side is for dogs over 40lbs, the other for smaller dogs. Have even seen a teacup pig here before! Love bringing my buddy here to run, swim, and play. West side Needed this dog park, obviously cuz theres always lotsa friendly dogs and their owners taking advantage of fw's best dog park. Both sides have doggie playground, a lil lake, which all the dogs LOVE, fresh water at water stations and even doggie wash offs.(also a dog wash opened next door, formerly ace check cashing) My dogs love this place and so do I, its great for my dogs to get to socialize with other well loved and well behaved fur babies. Do clean up after your dog After many visits, I think FW did a fantastic job and I couldnt be happier. Feel super lucky such a great dog park is so close to home! This park is awesome! My little Lhasa apso couldn't get enough. We prefer the small dog side but when there isn't too many dogs on the big dog side we like to explore that side too. The small side is huge and so much running space. It's hard to keep up with my little guy cause he just explores everything. Yesterday we found out he likes to swim! I had no idea he liked water because he hates the rain and baths but he just jumped right into the pond and swam like Michael phelps! I love the size of the pond for the small dogs. It's the perfect size for smaller dogs with short legs. Just a reminder to people to pick up after their dogs! I know it can be hard to keep up with them if their as adventurous as my fur baby but you have to be a responsible owner. If you don't want to step in dog poop, trust me no one wants to either. Also, DO NOT bring your dog here if you are unsure how he/she will act around other dogs. The well behaved socialized dogs do not deserve to be Guinea pigs to your unsocialized dog. I witnessed an aggressive dog attack another dog on the big dog side and it was not pretty. This park is great and your fur baby will love it! A fantastic addition to Fort Worth. We've already got a great dog park on the east side called Fort Woof, but we really needed something on the west side. Hopefully this will help spur more updating and development in this area. This used to be an old golf course and now is part undeveloped park, and part awesome dog park! Tip: If you come here expect to get muddy, dirty, and wet even if your dog does not get in the water as tons of dogs are shaking off that water and rubbing up for some attention. The pros: -Very large, even bigger than Fort Woof dog park! Large dog 7 acres, small dog 3 acres. -It has a large pond with easy doggy access in both small and large dog areas. -Large and small dog park -Places for the humans to sit: fake stumps, natural rocks, benches, and they're still building a gazebo. -Doggie poop bags available. -Large dog obstacle course with gravel foundation. -large amount of parking however I can see it getting full. If it does, there is a least one more parking lot off lackland road (make sure to lock your doors and hide your belongings if you park here). The cons: - not enough dog bag stations, the ones that are available are the far ends of the park. The one in the front was out of bags. -I did not notice a dog water station. I assume they want the dogs to drink out of the pond which I'd prefer a fresh water station. read more

We move to Fort Worth from Austin a year ago, and we were so sad there was nowhere here for my dog to swim. I will not let him get in the Trinity and really there's no where else. This dog park has filled a huge void in his pup life! He swims and frolicks around here and chases balls to his hearts content. The park is HUGE, maybe the biggest I've ever seen, and divided for big and little dogs. The big dog side has the fountain, and agility equipment on the other side. So much room for running! My dogs love it. Update: they did put up a sign indicating the park is closed Monday's from 6am-? For maintenance. My only complaint is the area where you get doggy bags on the big dog side right when you first come inis always muddy because of the fountain right there. Some sod would help. read more

I really liked the idea of this place! Don't get me wrong, it's so fun with the water element which is both on the big dog and little dog side of the park. That being said, it was super muddy (which I know can't be helped) and there was TONS of bees when we went in late October. My poor pup even stepped on one :( not fun! I would still check it out! There's tons of space for everyone and again, the water is such a nice feature. read more

My dogs would give this 6 out of 5 stars if they could. This is the best dog park. It's very accommodating. You enter a gate and are in a small gated area to take your dogs off their leashes before entering the park. There is a lot of play equipment. The lake has a fountain in the center. There were a lot of other dogs to play with. Our dogs had a blast, we will be back many times. Ps, if you come, clean up after your dogs poop. read more
