We consistently have to do the majority of the work to get things done or to get them in even the right ballpark of what we're looking for. Their performance and value-add are not priorities to them -- their priority is very clearly running up the billable time clock. They do not provide strategic value. They are hyper-focused on SEO even though we told them multiple times we don't really care about SEO just yet. To this day, our weekly check-ins are basically just a bland overview of the changes in our SEO numbers from last week (Bueller...? Bueller...?) There's been zero discussion of a social media strategy. Our HubSpot implementation & training with them was haphazard at best. There are two people who show up for every single weekly status meeting and I could not tell you what they do. One seems to just take notes and the other *might* be our project or account manager, but I honestly can't tell. All-in-all, this was a lot of time and money *not* well spent. If we could go back, we would have chosen a different partner.

Dishonest billing after withdrawal; ignored records request…read more I enrolled at Fullstack Academy and later withdrew. My student advisor confirmed in writing (via Slack DMs) that my final two payments would be canceled and not charged. Weeks later I received an email saying they planned to charge me anyway. They also deleted my student account and removed me from their Slack, which blocked me from accessing the very messages that confirm the cancellation. My request for a copy of those DMs was ignored. I immediately sent a formal revocation of payment authorization and notified my bank because these attempted charges could have overdrawn my account by $1,000+. Fullstack cited a "no refunds after 6 weeks" policy, but in my case they are using it as a loophole to demand money after telling me in writing I wouldn't be charged. This has caused significant stress and wasted hours of my time. I've filed complaints with the CFPB and the NY Attorney General. Policies aside, trustworthy schools honor their written commitments and provide students access to their records. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this program. If you're considering it, get everything in writing and be very cautious about autopay authorizations.

Its a complete money grab because they analyze the majority in the course and teach them and abandon others.

They teach more than just the basics and structure the curriculum very well to get you to the point of being an independent learner. I think it's daunting at first to pick up web development without much coding background, but I think the program does a good job at teaching you what to focus on. The most intensive part of the curriculum is keeping up with the schedule. The material by itself is structured to teach a student from the ground up. The challenging portion is for the student to maintain studying priorities, time management, and health. If a student can do these things well, then the student will be able to pick up everything needed to pass the program. The job search support is very good. I feel like App Academy is set up for a student's success, giving the student constant support and material to work on post-graduation from the program. If the job seeker puts in the work and keeps routines established by a/A to find employment, it'll only be a matter of when.
