As a millennial, I've done my fair share of cohousing situations and I think that the way that they navigate roommate changes and repairs has been as seamless as possible. There's been a lot of odds and ends work that needed to be done on the property that I lived in and they were always prompt to send out a repair person within 24 hours of a request being sent. They would even follow up with us when we may have let a contractor slip through the cracks. I highly recommend them and all their staff has been nothing but courteous and kind. Claire was my specific point of contact and whatever they are paying her isn't enough for how hard that girl works. She doesn't miss a beat and always makes times for tenant questions or concerns. I've lived in this house for about a year now, and before any of the current situations were even a problem, there was a leak in my ceiling when I moved in and it took them weeks just to fix it before I could move into this place. I had to pay extra at my apartment complex because of that. there have been multiple broken items in this house that they refuse to fix like the dishwasher the fridge in the dryer because they claim they're still "technically functional". This most recent incident was a leak in the ceiling again that we noticed and put in a maintenance request for that took eight days to even be noticed and nobody did anything about to the point where we're at 11:50 PM three days ago there was an actively in my ceiling. It took the 24 hour emergency line 30 minutes to answer for them to tell me that nobody was showing up, but that they would put in a maintenance request in the morning. I had to call the plumbing company on my own to schedule someone to come in because they didn't do it. It is now taking 72 hours for a restoration company to come fix the hole in my ceiling because there has been a miscommunication between every single company that has tried to come out and fix this problem. they will not answer the phone. They will not relay any information and they are genuinely one of the most lazy awful companies I have ever dealt with. on top of all of this without any prior communication they waited until the very last last minute that they could to tell us about our termination of tenancy. You're supposed to give at least a 60 day notice and they waited until that last day of the 60 days with five minutes to spare on their business day and the cherry on top is that they literally taped it on our front door. There was no phone call. There was no email. There was no other way to reach out. They literally taped it on our door. I would rather live in my car than deal with this property management company again and I will be getting my lawyer involved.

After talking to a couple other property management companies, it was clear that Jim and his team were head and shoulders above the other companies. He has a strong attention to detail, deep familiarity with the market, and had a great deal of patience as we discussed various parts of the rental process. He was very upfront with fees and what to expect over the following months. He acted very quickly, getting photos and listing our place on a variety of sites, and had multiple showings almost right away. Within a few days, we were surprised to hear we were under lease already! Not only did we get it listed sooner than expected, the rent was much closer to what we were hoping to get (and about 10% more than other companies said they wanted to list our place for). He's been extremely responsive over email, all hours of the day and days of the week. I couldn't recommend Phoenix Realty enough!

I enjoyed being in Center Village as it was close to food, entertainment, and of course skiing. The condo was clean and well stocked (friends stayed in another building with a different vendor and they did not have nearly the items we had). I rent my home at Topsail Beach NC so I understand the importance of a well stocked home. Working with The Lark Mountain Group was easy. They provided very specific instructions and I knew exactly what I needed to do and when. I had no issues so I did not have to reach out. I would book with Lark Mountain Group again.

A little backstory: On May 27, 2024, I made a reservation through Airbnb to stay at Lisa's condo in February 2025. The cancellation policy required a 50% fee should the reservation be canceled at least 30 days before arrival. I paid in full when I made the reservation. Three days after the I made the reservation, I had to cancel it due to some unforeseen circumstance. I contacted Lisa and explained my situation. She could have easily stuck with the cancellation policy and charged me 50% of the total. However, she agreed to waive the fee and did so promptly. Lisa was generous and I wanted to give a shout out to her. Thank you so much, Lisa.

Helping renters find housing seems to be her very charitable priority, by asking for lower rents than other property managers in the area and giving renter applicants every benefit-of-the-doubt and leases to people with questionable credit and criminal backgrounds and shaky references. Great for struggling homeless tenants! But a nightmare for landlords / homeowners! I highly recommend that people read Yelp's "not recommended review" that can only be seen by scrolling down and clicking on the link for it. I totally agree with it! - especially about the difficulty communicating with this agency and their frequent practice of lying (when backed against the wall when they don't honor their agreements). I tried to work with this agency for 3 years, but have learned from my mistake and will never be back! I had a WAY worse "nightmarish tenant" than the one described in Greg B.'s 3/24/2022 review, but instead of thanking BCR for helping me through it, I blame them for causing it - with their very lax tenant screening process! Claire was gracious, very knowledgeable and thoughtful - even helping me consider what it would be like living in the house on a daily basis to make sure it would be a good fit for me. It was like meeting a new best friend - easy and friendly. Being an executive coach, I was intrigued and asked about her business. She talked about her owner partner, Kristin, how much they love their work helping good people find good homes. A day later, I went to their office and met Kristin. Now, keep in mind that all tenant advice web sites highly recommend that any tenant obtain a copy of the lease and read it through prior to signing that lease. It's a way for you, as a tenant to protect your own rights. You can choose not to take a property, but you cannot un-sign a lease. At the request to see the lease, Burger investments responded, "We prefer to show the property first, then show the lease." I thought, OK, that sounds somewhat reasonable. Ends up, they refused to email a copy of the lease to my inbox. They did carry a copy of the lease to the property showing, and let me look at it, but how much can you absorb with the agent standing there watching?? I decided to walk away from the property, lease, and the agent. Anyone who hides their lease that thoroughly must have something shady going on. Burger Property Investments, if you read this, you might want to think about being more forthcoming with your prospective tenants. For now, I DO NOT recommend BPI as a land lord. = = = = = = = = 10-19-2014 = = = = = = = = I have read the response below this post. I have been in contact with over a hundred properties since. About 25% to 30% of owners or property managers are happy to share a blank copy of their leases with prospective tenants (this might be a higher percentage, I have not applied a true statistical analysis to my experience). Burger Property Investments has such a close hold on their lease that it hurt them. They were one of only two companies who tried to act like their lease information was some sort of national secret. Please get in tune with good business practices and common sense. Your response below is still off base. How will you 'share' a copy of the lease post-viewing? present a paper copy to the prospective tenant and let them 'read it as long as they wish' in the street, like I had to? Remember, actions speak louder than words. (Case in point: I am in the process of starting a new lease with a company who emailed me a soft copy of their lease prior to the property viewing. PS BPM, my credit score is greater than 725. You managed to make me peeved by your actions even before you knew more about who I am. Thank you, Yelp, for letting me voice my experience.

I am writing this review because it is long overdue and because Rick just drove 20 miles through a snowstorm to make sure I had heat. He replaced the thermostat and we are back in business. Rick and Lynn are awesome. They are always very professional and friendly. They are very good business people that are great at internalizing their costs and passing the savings on to the tenant. I have had nothing but good dealings with them. I am rating them 5 stars because the rent is reasonable, the service is impeccable and because silent gratitude isn't much use to anyone. Thanks again Rick and Lynn for providing me with an awesome place to rent, I look forward to renting with you in the future.
