HIGHWAY ROBBERY, Total roundtrip per Google maps was 43.3 miles, 25 miles loaded with car, was charged 70 "loaded" miles @ $10.00 per mile, $700 in mileage alone. Charged a $185.50 fuel surcharge, thats two tanks of fuel for under 50 miles. They charged a $550 fee just to show up and added another $75 "flatbed" fee. $50 per day storage, another $200 labor (for what) car was on side of roadway and driveable except for broken windshield. Oh, to disconnect battery was $50 for a 2 minute job. gate fee $65, pullout fee $50, environmental $30 after hours fee, $40. It was 3:00 in afternoon, it was Labor Day but probably didn't get him out of bed, maybe woke him from afternoon nap?? Just to remove from interstate to yard was over $2000, total with storage and tax $2778.31 Maybe had 3 hours of total time, roundtrip 43.3 miles shows 55 minutes travel time, on scene time, load and unload add 2 more hours?? The 43.3 mile estimate mileage from Google maps takes into consideration the car was northbound between exits, to route went south of accident, pickup car headed north and exit there to shop, no U-turn required. 25 loaded miles not 70, $450 rip-off there alone. read more
