All of their breads and pastries are fresh made in-house and breakfast meals, all delicious, were perfectly cooked and presented. The wait staff at Bargello was beyond great. So friendly and attentive. I'm sure all of their wait staff are amazing but Erin and Keisha, who we interacted with, were especially wonderful! Pretty dog friendly, although mine is a service animal. Staff were all friendly with a warm southern welcome. Our room on the club level had access to their snacks and breakfast with drink options. The room itself came with a hugeee tub that I took advantage. However the room itself was a bit dated, and the sheets were horrible. Would stay again and try more of their amenity and the activities offered.

She was celebrating her birthday with friends, and since I couldn't join the trip, I arranged to have a gift basket from a local company waiting in her room as a special surprise when she arrived. About 10 days before her stay, I spoke with Guest Services by phone and followed up via email, providing the guest's information, expected delivery date, and all other pertinent details. I was told a note had been placed on the reservation specifically requesting that the basket be delivered to her room for her arrival. Unfortunately, that never happened. After she had been there for a few days without mentioning the gift, I became concerned and called the hotel. They discovered that the basket was still sitting in the shipping department. It was eventually delivered to her room on the second-to-last day of her trip, but by then the entire point of having it there as a special birthday welcome had been lost. The young man who helped me track it down was pleasant and apologetic, which I appreciated. Still, this was frustrating and disappointing. Sending gifts and packages to hotel guests is hardly unusual, and I had gone out of my way well in advance to make sure the hotel had everything needed to handle it correctly. I expected better attention to detail from a four-star hotel. While I can't speak to the experience of actually staying here, this experience would absolutely factor into whether I chose to stay at the Grove Park Inn myself in the future.

We enjoyed our comfy rood including the huge floor to ceiling drapes that were electronically controlled. We also love the history of the hotel being the working shops for the Biltmore. One night we went exploring and we found an old cargo elevator which was quite neat. From the hotel we were able to walk to many shops and restaurants. The staff were great and we slept well during our stay.

I ended up lining up our extra pillows under my duvet and was able to sleep ok that way. The noise level - cool but old building equals creaky floors, thin walls, and in our 2nd room, loud pipes. Our first room was so loud above we couldn't even enjoy tv at night let alone sleep (of course we had someone who seemed to be logging steps all evening and throughout the night). Positives: Breakfast - we included breakfast with our booking thru Hotels.com, and very glad we did. Service was slow but very friendly. Although I didn't believe them at first, included is any breakfast you want. You order anything off the menu and they remove the tabs from your bill. All the food we had over 3 mornings was fabulous. The water - filtered (and sparkling) water station in the lobby. We stopped by and filled up each day. Service - every employee was friendly and helpful. They happily moved us from a 2nd floor to top after night one was too loud. Restaurant staff always nice, valets were friendly. Great location - easy in and out, perfect location to roam downtown, loads of good restaurants nearby Rooms - decent sized rooms and bathrooms, comfy pillows, power curtains and large windows. Overall after I crafted my own soft mattress and relocated to a top floor room, we ended up having a great stay.

The terrace overlooks a small park. The bed was not very comfortable, too firm for me. Everything is low flow, shower pressure not great. But the decor and housekeeping services are wonderful ! I appreciated the basket of breakfast items every morning and the in-room coffee as well as wine/snacks for social hour in the evening. If you want a hotel that is not basic choose the Restoration! I believe it's pet friendly too as I saw many dogs.

The decor is very Rock N Roll with cool Marshall Bluetooth speakers. Closet space is very minimal, but that's my only negative. We enjoyed the XYZ lounge, especially the fireplace! The pool area is expansive and offers ample seating for groups including a fire pit. A great place to relax and enjoy the sunset over the mountains . The best reason is that they are dog-friendly. We don't have a dog, but loved seeing all of the happy companions in the hotel. This establishes a very friendly vibe to the hotel. Definitely our go-to spot when in Asheville.

Or do I go with the Marriott option like I usually do? We opted with this Marriott, but then ended with a night at the Omni Grove so we could check out the spa we heard so much about. This is located right in Biltmore Village, which I heard had a lot more going on before Helene made her way to town a few years ago. :( It's right next to the Biltmore, but there's not really a lot in the area. In fact, when we first pulled up we noticed it was situated right between a McDonalds and a Hardees and wondered where we were staying. The lobby is very cool and modern....and all the staff were very welcoming. When we checked in we were told we were staying in the manor across the street. I don't remember booking that part of the hotel, but the man at the front desk mentioned he prefers those rooms. It's literally right across the street so super easy, but it's across the busiest street I saw in Asheville which requires waiting a very long time at the crosswalk. I didn't see very many people during our 4 nights in the Manor and wondered if we had it all to ourselves. The room itself was nice, clean and modern. There were little things i liked (ex: liquid hand soap) and things i didn't (ex: no trash can in the bathroom) but overall we were comfortable.And my husband mentioned many times he was very happy with the TV situation. While our stay here was fine I did regret not staying elsewhere. I would have loved an area to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather and just more in the area. I did like the room a lot better than the night we spent at the Omni Grove, but think i may have preferred staying at the Kimpton downtown or at the Biltmore where we could take advantage of the hiking, biking and everything else they have going on there.

First, when we arrived at the hotel, the valet were so quick and efficient to unload all the bags we had with us, as well as ensure our car would be safe in their parking garage (since it was loaded for our move). They took our luggage across to the Manor and it was in our room before we were even there. Then, at check-in, they offered us a glass of champagne, gave us a quick orientation on the village, and we were off to check out our room. Not only was it a beautiful and comfortable place to stay, but they made our dog, Hagrid, feel so welcome (see the photos). Note: While this doesn't downgrade our score, there can be traffic noise at night and the pet fee is a bit pricier than other pet fees.

The location is close enough to downtown so that you can still find food in walking distance yet far enough removed from the noise to give you a bit of quiet. Unlike a downtown hotel, you also don't have to pay through the nose for parking. Staff are pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. The porch and patio areas make for relaxing outdoor spaces. The Princess Anne is an old building and though generally well-maintained, isn't immune to the occasional odd creak. Our room was, overall, fairly spacious (it included a kitchenette and dining/TV area), the bed was comfortable, and everything worked as it should. That said, the bathroom was tiny, even with the sink located in a different room. If you can abide by its quirks, the Princess Anne offers character, comfort, and charm, all at a fairly good value.

My wife found the Princess Anne Hotel which dates to the early 1920's. One of the sayings on their website was "the luxury of a BnB with the privacy of a hotel". We went all out and reserved one of their 3-room "Master Suite". We ended up with THREE, VERY SPACIOUS and well appointed rooms. The bedroom included a king-size bed with a large flat screen TV attached bed; the kiving room included a sofa bed, upolstered chair and another large flat screen TV. The final room was dining area - complete with a dinig table, four dining chairs, two upholsted chairs and a kirchenette with a 2-burner stovee, a frg amd a microwave. The package my wife booked included an afternoon (5-6p) reception with a complimentary glass of wine or beer (addional glasses could be purchased) and a charcuterie board. You could enjoy your wine and charcuterie in their lounge area, on one of their porches (our choice) or back in your room. THe package also included breakfast which was served in the dining room. There was a breakfast "special of the day" or you could order from the menu. ALL of the staff - from the front desk personell to the servers in the dining room - was great. Great southern hospitality - always cheerful. This truly was a 5-STAR experience.

They do have valet for $22 a night and you can go in and out without any extra charge. We were greeted with a glass of champagne upon check in. The room was bigger than I expected! The views form the hotel room were beautiful. We went down to the bar to check out the sunset but since our room was on the 10th floor and the bar was on the 4th floor we made our way back up to watch from there. My main complaint was the lack of water access. We had to go to the gym to fill our water bottles up and the water didn't taste very good. Since it was a Sunday night we wanted to relax and watch TV in bed. We couldn't find a physical copy of the TV guide and struggled with the TV remote to scroll through the guide, so we ended up just clicking through channels. The towels were quite rough. Everything is very walkable from this area.

But unfortunately, the negatives have made this a stay I'm unlikely to repeat. I'm actually writing this review at 4:30 AM on our second night because I can't sleep. The HVAC system is designed to stop when the room is unoccupied, presumably as an energy-saving feature. Unfortunately, it seems to have a similar effect overnight, and the room becomes incredibly hot and stuffy. I couldn't figure out what was happening the first night. Tonight, I've been waking up about every hour and a half and getting out of bed just to move around and get some air circulating. I honestly can't remember the last time I had two consecutive nights of such terrible sleep in a hotel. For me, this is a major issue -- a nice hotel room doesn't mean much if you can't sleep in it. We also purchased the breakfast package because we didn't want to worry about finding breakfast our first morning. The food was delicious, but the espresso machine was apparently broken, so none of the coffee options -- including the Cuban coffee specifically listed on the menu -- were available. We had to make a separate stop somewhere else for coffee afterward. Again, not a huge issue on its own, but disappointing when you've paid for a breakfast package. There was another odd disconnect with the breakfast package. When I went to use our vouchers, there was a nice letter in the room explaining all of the benefits we were supposed to receive. One of those benefits was a glass of champagne at check-in. We were never offered it. I probably would have declined the champagne anyway, but if it's listed as a benefit of the package, it seems reasonable to expect to at least be offered it. And then there was housekeeping. I've honestly never experienced anything quite like it. One towel we had used was replaced with a clean towel, and one extra bar of soap was left by the sink -- upside down and looking almost as if it had simply been tossed there. At first, we genuinely wondered whether anyone had been in the room at all. Apparently someone had, but the extremely minimal and strange way the room was serviced left us confused. It's frustrating because this hotel has so much going for it. The location is excellent, the rooms are large, the views are lovely, and the valet service is terrific. But sleep is a pretty basic expectation at a hotel, and the HVAC issue has completely overshadowed the positives of our stay. Unfortunately, despite the fantastic location, I would probably choose somewhere else the next time we're in Asheville.

Upon check-in, we were welcomed with the Biltmore champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a book about the estate--such thoughtful touches that made us feel instantly celebrated. Our room was beautiful, and the bed was incredibly comfortable--exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The only minor downsides were the lack of accessible outlets for charging devices and no easy way to grab ice unless you called the operator or waited for housekeeping. We also noticed that sound traveled a bit--you can hear hallway noise due to the gap under the door. That said, the experience overall was exceptional. There's so much to do on the estate. The highlight for us was the complimentary wine tasting at Antler Hill Village--nearly an hour with 8 tastings per person, which honestly felt like such a great deal. We also rented bikes to explore the property, which was a fun and scenic way to take everything in. While there are several dining options, reservations are definitely needed--probably the only logistical wrinkle during our stay. One thing we really appreciated was the shuttle system around the estate. It made getting to places like the Biltmore House incredibly easy and stress-free.

The location is especially convenient if you want to explore downtown without a car. We could walk to the Grove Arcade, Asheville Visitor Center and Grey Line Trolley, Woolworth Walk and Soda Fountain, Asheville Art Museum, and downtown events such as Boomtown FestAVL. You will need to drive or take an Uber to Biltmore Estate and Grovewood Village, where you can visit the Grovewood Gallery, Antique Car Museum, and Biltmore Industries Homespun Museum. We had balcony room 505, which was modern, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. The balcony itself was one of my favorite features. Instead of just two little outdoor chairs, there was a large cushioned couch, two additional chairs, and a table, giving us a real outdoor living area where we could sit and enjoy views of the mountains and sunset. The bathroom was also spacious and well designed. The shower had both a rainfall showerhead and handheld sprayer, and there was plenty of counter space around the sink for both of our toiletries. The room included soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, makeup wipes, and a hair dryer. There were electrical outlets and USB-A ports beside the bed, a long bench that worked well for luggage or additional seating, and an iron and ironing board. The coffee maker uses the rectangular coffee packets that slide into a plastic tray, and I thought the provided coffee actually had good flavor. There was a mini refrigerator but no microwave. One useful feature that could easily be missed is the Hydration Station on each floor. Look for the sign when you get off the elevator. There is free filtered water and ice, and you can ask the front desk for a water carafe to keep in your room. The staff was exceptional. Everyone we encountered at the front desk was friendly, helpful and caring. Julia or Judy was especially wonderful when I had questions and needed maintenance assistance. When our air-conditioning unit seemed to be running continuously through the night, maintenance arrived within about ten minutes. It turned out that the dehumidifier was what was running all night, and they were able to turn it off, which gave us a much quieter sleeping experience. We also had a burned-out bathroom light, and maintenance replaced it the next day at the time we requested. For my pre-arrival request for a blanket and extra coffees/creamers, they were waiting in the room by Yvonne, a housekeeper, who always greeted me by name and took great care of me and my room. Tip: If you want to take the Gray Line Trolley for Asheville (Hop On/Hop Off), ask at the front desk for their discount QR code to save a few dollars off. The closest stop is 2. S. Pack Square although I could not figure out where exactly the spot was. I ended up walked to Stop 1 Asheville Visitor Center to get my sticker and to board. We also had breakfast at Capella on 9, and the breakfast staff provided great service. Prices were reasonable for a hotel restaurant, with entrées around $16 and the European-style buffet around $23. The buffet included either two eggs or brioche French toast cooked to order. Coffee was self-service, and it was good. Capella on 9 also has a rooftop terrace that looked like a lovely place to have a drink and enjoy the view; even our trolley driver recommended it. There is a small hotel shop near the lobby if you need drinks or snacks. It sold Smartwater, water in aluminum cans, sodas, juices, beer, wine, and a variety of snacks, which was convenient when we didn't want to make another trip outside. Overall, AC Hotel Asheville Downtown was an excellent choice for us. The downtown location made it easy to explore Asheville on foot, our balcony room gave us plenty of space to relax, and the staff made the stay stand out. The quick response when something needed attention was particularly impressive. I would happily stay here again.

We stayed here for a weekend getaway, wanting to do all the downtown things in Asheville. The hotel was gorgeous and our room was immaculate. I've seen some other reviews that weren't so great for the hotel and I don't understand how my experience was so great and others were not. The rooms were spacious and gorgeous and completely clean. All of the staff went above and beyond in anything we needed. They have a great rooftop bar and restaurant. It's a little pricey, but if you just wanna go have a drink up there it's a great view.
