Go!! Go now!! You have to check out Zen Blend. My boyfriend and I just had the "Relaxation Day for Two" at the Maltese Cross location. This is what was included in our particular package:
How does it work? - While one person is receiving their tension melting Hot Stone Zen Massage, the other person enjoys a hour of blissful peace & quiet in the weightless environment of the Floatation tank (then you switch).
How long does it last? - The entire relaxation experience lasts about 3 hours and includes shower time for the Floatation Tank and a relaxing cup of your choice of Three Zen Blend Herbal Teas accompanied by Ghirardelli chocolate after your relaxation session.
How much does it cost? - Because the Massages and Floats occur at the same time, we are able to offer this service for a great price. The total cost is $265.00 and includes Two Zen Massages, Two Floats and all the enlightenments.
The "Enlightenments" are some special extras that are all included in this package. Just imagine it, when you first climb under the sheets on that amazingly comfortable massage table, you notice your entire core warm up. This is the "Bio Mat" which is placed in-noticeably somewhere under the sheets so that there are no lumps in the table or anything. (There must be some kind of witchcraft going on there. haha) It uses infrared heat, and has amethyst crystals embedded in it. Go to their site for more info on that one.
Before I get to the next part I just want to say, Amber.. Amber.. you have no idea how much you helped me, physically and mentally. This lovely lady is very skilled. She has the innate ability to find every one of your trouble spots. You can choose from a variety of aromatherapy oils for your massage. Lemongrass is my absolute favorite. After you get one area massaged, she busts out the hot stones. OMG the hot stones. I was almost drooling on myself at this point. First you get massaged with the stones, and then she returns for fresh hot stones, and fresh steam towels.
After the hot stone and steam towel treatment, prepare yourself for the awesome, unexpected chill of the peppermint foot massage. (Keep in mind, you've just had a hot stone massage and steam towels wrapped around each foot for a few. HEAVEN!
Now FLOAT!! Well, shower first of course, then brace yourself for a one-of-a-kind experience! Brian was very helpful and courteous in explaining the entire float process. You can float in the sensory deprivation chamber with or without music, and if you're a little nervous your first time, you can leave the door open. I'm an all or nothing type, myself. This being my first time, I plugged my ears and climbed into the chamber. Once the door was closed, you're in complete darkness. The only sound is the sound of your own breathing and your heartbeat. For the first few minutes, you may feel yourself spinning although you're just floating there. I felt like I'd been returned to the womb. To keep myself from drifting into random thoughts, I would just repeat, in my mind, the words "I AM". It's whatever works for you. After a few minutes, I had to consciously blink to know whether or not my eyes were open. It's humid enough to just stare into empty space without it hurting your eyes. (Just don't get that water in there!!) It's different for everyone, but I saw things. I saw.. purple.. Just shades of purple moving across my vision, then I would see black figures, people, random shapes, and a door. There were some intermittent sparks of other colors, but it's different for everyone. I suddenly feel like painting!
When the float is over, you'll hear some soothing music to let you know it's time to exit the chamber. Careful on this one! Sitting up was like raising yourself out of wet concrete (but in a good way). That door is heavy, and the tank is slippery, so really, be careful. I was pushed back into the tank by the weight of the door, and just had to laugh at myself. Take a minute to get your bearings, and you'll be fine, and take your time. They're not going to come yell at you to move your booty out the tank. Now, shower and head down for some delicious tea and Ghirardelli chocolates, and some stimulating conversation with your host or hostess.
We will absolutely be back!! And, that's an hour drive for us. Don't care! Worth it!! We love you guys! You have a beautiful establishment! read more
