We arrived a bit early (25 min prior to massage) and were greeted immediately. We sat at their booth and drank some tea and water. The massage therapists came and introduced themselves and asked what pressure, areas to work on and areas to avoid. Shortly after we were brought back to the couples massage room. This place is amazing! I called and was able to get a same day appointment. As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere is very relaxing and inviting. Kristi did my massage and she was amazing! She worked with me to get my preferences and was actually concerned with my reason for the visit. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable the massage table was! It was warmed to the perfect temperature and was perfectly soft. Kristi gave my the choice of essential oils and I chose grapefruit (amazing). I have a lot of problems with inflammation in my lower back and she was able to use the perfect amount of pressure to work out that tension. I fell asleep at least twice, I was so relaxed! The hand and foot massage was great and the use of the hot stones felt amazing. The amount of time and quality of the massage is really great for the price! This place is THE place if you are looking for a relaxing massage. The mats use infrared technology to keep you warm, they have a variety of aromatherapy scents to choose from. My husband and I did the couples massage with Amber and Kristen, they did a phenomenal job. Apparently I was so relaxed I was snoring haha. They use a blend of techniques and incorporate hot stone and steam towel. Definitely recommend this place and will come again next time I visit Austin. My husband and I came here for a belated Valentine's day date. I've been massaged before, but he has never received one, so I thought this would be a nice treat! We did the couples bliss massage, where we had the infrared sauna and then the hot stone. I enjoyed the sauna a lot, I like hot temperatures and I take scalding showers sometimes so this was a breeze for me. My husband was okay, he sweats easily and doesn't do super great in heat but he wanted to experience it! The massage was absolutely wonderful, my husband started falling asleep because he was so relaxed, and I especially loved the medium to deep pressure I was given on my shoulders and back. So I am copying it where it belongs now!) --- I highly recommend Zen Blend to anyone who wants a fabulous, relaxing, authentic experience! I got my fiancé a Couples massage package for Valentine's Day via an email coupon. Don't be fooled by their poor web & email presence... They obviously put their focus on their amazing facility and professional staff!! Though one cool thing is they send reminders via text. The facility is actually a house, beautifully decorated with a calming ambiance. The entrance is through the kitchen area. It takes a moment for your eyes to adjust because it's very dark in there, with just candles. And it smells lovely because they have an essential oil diffuser going. We sat down at their big, natural wood dining table, which has an illuminated hole in the middle full of huge chunks of healing salt. That is where they had us sign a release form via iPads. They led us to a big, dimly lit room with two massage tables. I also recall a black light fish tank and a little station where they kept their hot stones and aroma therapy stuff. Ambient world music was playing in a little iPod. Our two lovely massage therapists made us feel at home and asked us to undress as far as we were comfortable and get under the sheets face down. They left while we did that. (We're modest and left our undies on.. I removed my bra of course... I don't really feel the need to involve my genitals, but to each his own!) It was freezing outside, so I loved that the cushions were heated! There were amethyst Bio-mats underneath. When they came back in, they wafted lavender and mint aroma near our noses (from underneath). I would describe my massage as "soothing" and my fiancé described it as "extremely sensual." I guess because he's a [hetero] dude. I just sort of lost myself in relaxation, and let all my troubles go... He was probably in fantasy land. ;) Neither of us had ever had hot stone massages. That was rad... They were super hot & slippery, so the massage therapist would press & glide along our muscles, with a stone in each hand. Near the end they added more aroma therapy from underneath, and then dinged two tiny cymbals when the massage was complete. They whispered to us that we could take our time getting dressed. We sloooowwwwly got up and stretched happily when it was over. We had been so quiet the whole time, and just both looked at each other with dumb grins on our faces. ;D We then eased back into the real world with some hot tea and chocolates in a little sitting area. :) It was really exactly what we both needed. I did the $100 one and Cherie, my massage therapist literally took every minute and didn't sell me short. Hands-down my favorite place to go whenever I need to slip into pure bliss and recharge. I've been here twice and am planning to go back for a third visit very soon. The service was impeccable from the friendly and welcoming staff to the ambiance and quality of massage. The first time I went I got a hot stone massage and the second time I went I started in the steam room for a half hour and then got my hour-long hot stone massage. Why people go to places with fluorescent lights in weird offices, I will never understand. Zen Blend is located in a house all by itself. It's dimly lit and you feel instantly relaxed when you walk in. Because it is smaller, you get more privacy. I got the couples massage with my boyfriend and we were the only people there for our 3 hour stay. We did the infrared sauna and then massage. It was the best massage I've ever gotten.
