I've been quite fortunate to have been going to Bex for almost as long as I've lived here in St. Pete, 2+ years and counting. We met at another location that had moved, that move gave way to a great opportunity to open Zen Central. I'm usually with Bex for a haircut only, but we've recently starting trying new ways to color my hair and have had great results each time. Every time I leave her chair, I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Family, friends, and coworkers can always tell when I've returned from another chair session. Zen Central is a sweet salon. You'll be the only client there, which while during the government restrictions due to the pandemic (things outside of our control), couldn't make the salon a better place to be for your private hair appointment. I had the BEST experience with Bex in her soothing space. My daughter's BFF told me check her out after seeing my DIY quarantine cut. I really butchered my long hair transitioning from years of Keratin treatments into curly again. I also wanted a "sun kissed" look for my curls to camouflage the Vitamin D deficit my skin reflected. Not only did she give me exactly what I wanted, she told me many things I never knew about hair maintenance, body and mind tips, and just gave me space to really unwind and enjoy the time. The perfect new place at the perfect time! After 4 months of quarantine I desperately needed to get my hair cut and highlighted. This is my absolute FAVORITE place to go to get my hair cut, dyed and styled. She does a lot of other things but that's what I go to her for. It's extremely zen and so calm at her place. . It's all about me and nobody else. Zia is an amazing hairstylist! She actually does an amazing job and I don't think in my 47 yrs I've ever loved my hair as much as I do now. I have dreadlocs and have struggled to find someone I wanted to touch my hair, and after being referred to Zia by two different people I reached out. my experience was amazing. she is absolutely skilled at what she does both with hair and with energy healing. her space is peaceful and welcoming. Zia herself is kind and patient and gentle. my head usually hurts really badly after getting loc maintenance, but today I felt very little pain. she sees clients one-on-one so there is no problem with distancing. she wore a pretty mask the entire appointment (she makes and sells them) and I felt perfectly safe. we even talked about putting some color in my locs, something I have thought about for a year or so now, but I didn't want my entire head colored, maybe a loc or two, as well as possibly working with some of my gray in the future if I decide I don't want to be as gray as I seem to be all of a sudden! her color work is impressive. she also offers yoga and energy work, both of which I can't wait to try. absolutely 100% recommend ZenCentral and Zia! read more
