A fun drive thru version of a great coffee shop in Omaha! Drive thru was kind of confusing for me; you have to go around Trader Joe's from the back to enter. The line is long because it's so popular, but it moves quick. My iced americano was tasty. The prices are fair. Visiting for the first time, our expectations were high as I've heard so many good things about them. It was pretty good, my daughter's smoothie was a huge hit! I had the lavender lady, which i did not realize was a tea so I was a little bit bummed as I had my heart set on coffee today.. but totally my mistake, not theirs! The parking lot is a little confusing for a first timer, but was easy to order and pull through! Drinks were made quickly and well done, tea was super hot- which I wasn't totally expecting but was happy about! We will definitely return if in the area again! read more

Yes this is the place you want to stop at!!! I'm not sure what's the handful of one stars are about other than maybe they were already having a bad day? The coffee is always spot on hot or cold, the services is quick for the set up, and the staff is always friendly. Try the cheddar bacon scone and thank me later! Straight ignore the people complaining about the wait and anticipate that to happen at a popular coffee HUT with a couple people (how many do you really think fit in that b?) next to a TJ! Use your noggin. As for the coffee, the flavor is there and it's not milk. I am a black coffee, heavy espresso lover and as long as you know what you're ordering, you won't be disappointed. So yes, you should go here and support local instead of copy & paste Starbucks or inconsistent scooters, no scooters is no longer local. read more

Zen Coffee is not only my Omaha favorite but I love the convenience of their drive thru location as well. On National Coffee Day (9/29), I had to stop and celebrate the day with one of my favs; Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso. It checks all the boxes every time! The baristas are always friendly and happy to greet you. Even with Trader Joe's, the surrounding businesses, and the flow of traffic, it's a perfect little hub for a coffee shop and it runs smoothly! Zen Coffee Co has quickly become one of my favorite local spot for a quick cuppa joe! I used to be a Fox Hollow loyalist, with my favorite being the s'mores latte - but they unfortunately went out of business a few years ago. So when I heard that Zen had a s'mores latte, I absolutely had to go try it and see if it could quench my cravings for that drink from long ago. I am happy to report that it was a pretty good match to what I remembered my s'mores latte tasting like. Woo! Now that was what first brought me to Zen, but I have tried a few other things, and they are a pretty solid choice if you're not a fan of the more corporate coffee shops around town. They have a huge menu of MANY different drinks you can order. The staff is super friendly and give great recommendations to fulfill your cravings. Aside from the drive thru, they also have a little walk up window, which is good if you're in the One Pacific Place shopping center and want to just pop over by walking through the parking lot, or just grab a drink on your way out of Trader Joe's. They are also unique in that they have the double cups where you can get two drinks in one cup that is split down the middle and in the shape of a heart! The size of each side is similar to a small, so the double cup is about two small drinks. You can only get the double cup with iced drinks, they said, as I believe the hot ones may not do well in the plastic cups. I got the double cup on one visit (more for the novelty of it, but I did enjoy having two separate flavors!). I got the iced s'mores and iced turtle lattes. They were pretty close in taste to each other, with a little more nuttiness to the turtle latte flavor, if you're a fan of that. One thing I will note, if you get the double cup, and you get two sweet lattes/drinks in each side, it can be a little too much sugariness, so maybe get a not-so-sweet drink on one side, if possible. My husband got a Fall special drink called the Carmel Apple Freeze, and it was delicious, sweet and tangy. So they do have other drinks that aren't coffee-based if you're not a coffee drinker. If you're a fan of local coffee shops and are looking for a nice little option that has tons of flavors and a super sweet staff, I would definitely give Zen a try! read more

Wonderful place to work or have a quiet chat with friends. The space itself is cute and wide open, allowing for ample space to sit around. The coffee is decent, same as its downtown location! My only problem would be its location as its in the middle of a strip mall and seeing a parking lot as a background view is not as enticing. I really love this location for the convenience of the drive-thru! I like to come through here before work to get a coffee. I've never had to wait very long for whatever I order here and have always had a great experience with all workers. All have been very friendly and helpful. They also answer any questions I have! When I went, it was around 7:50 AM on a Wednesday morning. There was only one car in front of me in line. I really love how their ordering sign has all of their current back to school specials as well as lunch specials! When I do go to Trader Joe's when it's open, I typically see the line get pretty long for this location. I think that the wait is worth it for Zen! I recommend their iced mocha or their lavender lemonade! Their other lemonades are really great too! I love the sign and how small this location is. It is only a drive thru, so there is not indoor seating. I have taken many friends to Zen because I always have a great experience at any of their 3 Omaha locations. I wish there was more! We visit Zen nearly every weekend and consistently enjoy our drinks. However, one recurring issue has been the poor quality of the cups and lids. They do not fit securely, which makes it difficult to reattach the lid--especially while on the go. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit, the lid and cup broke while I was driving, resulting in a spill that made quite a mess in my vehicle and on my clothes. I hope zen considers upgrading to sturdier cups and lids to match the otherwise excellent quality of their coffees. read more

Was disappointed today when I walked up to the window at the One Pacific Place outdoor mall and was refused service. In the past, I could walk up, place an order, pay cash and be on my way on foot. A while back they put up dark window coverings all on the exterior which obscures viewing inside and out and I would have to knock or wait until someone noticed someone was standing there, sometimes having to walk up to the drive-thru window to place an order. Today I walked up, waited, then knocked on the window and the kids opens up with someone else's order and I said no it's notmine I am a new walk up customer. Said you have to scan the code on the window and place your order that way and the he closed the window. It was pretty rude and I don't think I will be coming back to this location in the future because of how they are pushing walk up cash customers away more each time I try to come here. I will just go to Stories on 114th and Dodge/Davenport which is not too far from this place. At least I get treated like a valued person there. Downward Spiral: 1. It started with removing the menu from the walk up window and replacing it with a QR code. I am not going to scan a code for a menu, I know what I want or will talk to the barrista if I have questions. You know, to try out some of that customer service? 2. Then they placed the dark window wrap to make it so people cannot easily see in or out. 3. Now they are straight up refusing normal people service if they don't scan the stupid code and engage in this impersonal trend of minimal real life social interaction with the service industry. what if a person foes not have a smartphone with them or at all? If you cannot bother to talk to me or take my fee-free cash for a simple coffee order, then you lose my business. I am sick of technology being required for in person exchanges. My phone does not run my life, I don't want it to. If we cannot interact with each other just human to human, what's the point of building a business or society? Edit in response to owner reply: If you have a brick and mortar business with a walk up window in an outdoor mall, that is open to the public, then serve people who are walking up with cash in hand. And I have better things to do than follow a coffee shop on social media to keep up with their latest efforts to turn away business. Now that I know you discriminate against and refuse service to people on foot with cash who don't want to hassle with some online ordering site because they are right there in person to begin with, I will no longer give you my business and will go somewhere else like Stories Coffee on 114th up the street where they are happy to provide great customer service, great coffee and take my cash without making me jump through hoops. I spend enough of my life on computers. it would be nice to grab a coffee without needing my stupid phone. And yes, at one point there were prices available at the window and a person willing to interact with customers to take orders. The point of this review is to let people know that your business has made getting coffee more of a hassle than it needs to be so they can avoid having the same experience. read more

It's the Double cup for me!!! Absolutely love the convenience of Zen Coffee's double cup. First time I tried the pistachio and Lavender iced coffees. The Honey Bee latte was nice and light in flavor. The employees were helpful with plenty of good suggestions for a first timer. The outside of the building was clean. This locations drive through is a bit tricky but I like that this location is in the One Pacific Place center right next to Trader Joe's. Great for coffee to go after shopping! read more

Just a heads up--it's a little confusing for oncoming cars in the parking lot when they see a car pulling all the way to the left to order from the drive thru ordering microphone. Zen was offering a BOGO drink deal at this location only this weekend so I wanted to stop by and try something new. Because of this promo, the line was ~10 cars long ahead of me when I arrived. They had an employee outside taking orders in the line to speed up the process. I expected to still wait a long time, but each car took no more than 2 minutes at the window! The only thing that slows it down is being handed the card machine, but I understand wanting to give your employees the opportunity to receive card tips. I got a raspberry truffle shaken espresso and a berry blossom cold brew. The shaken espresso was just okay to me, and very sweet. But the berry blossom cold brew was incredible! The perfect balance of fruity cold foam and smooth cold brew. One of the most unique flavors I've gotten from an Omaha coffee shop. Being located in a Trader Joes parking lot is not ideal with the constant traffic, both cars and pedestrians. It's difficult to get in line if you have never been to the location before. Staff is friendly and fast. I'd definitely come back. read more

However, it's a bit bland, almost like it was made with coffee and not espresso, it lacked depth of flavor. To me it tastes similar to Scooters. Having frequented Zen West, I expected the same quality from One Pacific Place, however the lattes both my friend and I ordered wet both horrible. I have truly never tasted anything quite like this and I don't know if I can put it to words. There was no trace of whole milk, coffee, or even the flavoring I ordered. To be honest I have no idea what they gave me, it was truly bizarre, it almost tasted like a sweet, subtle oat milk with a hint of matcha. My friend had a similar problem, though hers was more like a Carmel milk with no coffee. I would recommend avoiding, it was a huge waste of $6, and I would've demanded a refund had we not already been far down the road. read more
