The location was nice. But, the massage was uncomfortable at moments, in ways that I'm sure the masseuse was unaware of. My masseur was a male and was aggressively tugging down on my underwear even after I told him not to go any lower. He just laughed and kept doing what he was doing. There was no asking about problem areas or areas to leave alone, which is a must when you don't know someone's trauma history. I booked a couples massage as an anniversary gift for my partner and myself. The massages were enjoyable and relaxing but there were two issues with interactions. The first being that my lower back was in immense pain after the massage. The second being after I paid them $120 for the massages, the man at the counter essentially asked me how much I was going to leave as a tip. He persisted to give stares and look in shock with no form of tips given. He then began to say that the masseuse work really hard insisting to leave a tip. He looked at my wallet and said that I can leave a 10 dollar tip for each masseuse and he can break big bills. This place was a damn joke!!! I can't even find their legal business entity on Secretary of State website, so they might be operating illegally. I went in for an hour massage. It's wasn't a five star massage but it wasn't a one star either but somewhere in the middle, 3 is perfect. Pros: Very friendly front desk. Clean, private rooms (the bathroom could use a wipe down but I'm here for the massage). Full hour and a half of massage and facial. Water is available at the end of the service. The practitioner seemed nice. Cons: No introduction to the practitioner.The person who took me to the back room advised me to change and go into the bed ( standard procedures) and left, a few minutes later another lady walks in ( she did say "hello") and started rubbing. No consultation. I wasn't asked how I prefer pressure or what type of massage ( deep tissue, relaxation) or if there were any areas that I was concerned about or whether I have any contraindications to products for the face. The bed doesn't have a hole/ hallow area for your face and what they provided was very soft and did not provide support, I opted to turn to the side. The towel warmer seems to be located outside, so every time she needed a towel, she had to leave the room. Facial steamers are kept in a different room and she had to wheel it in and out ( Idk if that's a business policy) but the steamer should be set up and remain in the room for relaxation purposes, move it after. I seen a Groupon for them so I called to confirm that if I bought the Groupon I would be able to use it same day. She said not to purchase the Groupon but to come in and show her the Groupon price and she would honor it but it HAD TO BE CASH! And the light from the front blinding us every time someone opened the door was not relaxing at all. We then went to the next room for our massages. So I again wiggled away an he walked out of the room as I prayed this meant the massage was finally over and he would be coming back with a hot towel or something... unfortunately that was not the case he came in no less than 2 minutes later and went right back to the hard painful miserable massage. He then moved to my side and was rubbing my arm instead of resting his hand not in use on the bed or my back he used this time time to grab handfuls of my butt! When it was finally over he took their shoes and a pair of ours as well!! I went out to tell them this but needed to use the restroom and still had stuff in the room. At this time the man PUSHED ME to the point I got the wall out of his way an told me to stay in the lobby! I explained I still needed to use the restroom. When I got back there I realized there were some "extra massages" happening in a back room!!! As I was walking out I hear them asking for payment! Which she made us do before we even got to go back for a massage. I walked out an explained I had already paid the lady tried to act like she didn't know what I was talking about. SHE WAS GOING TO TRY AND MAKE ME PAY AGAIN!! Then the 2 men that I just wanted to be away from demanded a tip!! Hands down one of the best massages I've ever had! My therapist, Andy, really used his strength to apply acupressure to really release all the built-up tension in my neck, upper back, shoulders and lower back. Upon entry I was offered an upgrade to recieve hot stones for an additional $30, which I am so glad to have accepted because this added more relaxation to my massage. I highly recommend for anyone suffering with nerve pain and muscle spasms. I was greatly pleased with the stretches he incorporated and didn't realize until after how much pain your body can hold in other places, like your wrists and hands- especially during the pandemic. I had to state multiple times that the pressure was WAY too rough, to the point of being extremely painful. My back and thighs were bruised for days after the service. I understand that different massage styles utilize various levels of pressure, however, any qualified massage therapist will gladly lighten up pressure long before their client is in actual pain. Each time I asked to please be more gentile she would joke or pat me but never changed. I felt deeply uncomfortable and was in excruciating pain at points. On my way out I was pressured to leave a tip for the shadiest massage of my life, and just wanting to get out of there I left $5. The three women (one of which was the "masseuse") openly mocked the small amount that I left. I felt very violated. I am young and healthy and although sore for a good week I bounced back. I do worry about customers who are elderly or have back/neck problems. The level of aggression this woman took out on me could easily cause serious long term problems. I had booked a 90 minute massage from Tom on May 7, 2021. However, Tom ended the massage at the 80 minute mark. I complained to the receptionist. My next 90 minute massage with Tom was on May 14, 2021. Tom was directed to add 10 additional minutes to make up for the shortfall from my May 7th massage. Tom did work until the 110 minute mark, however, halfway through the massage, he stepped out of the room for 10 minutes. He flat out disappeared. When he re-entered the room, he did not explain the reason for his sudden absence. In addition, on May 14, Tom forgot to place a facial pad to surround the table's hole as I laid down in the prone position facing the floor. Without the padding, my face was uncomfortable, spoiling the serenity of the massage. Lastly, on May 14, I was charged an extra $10.00 above the Groupon rate. I never write reviews, but this massage made me extremely uncomfortable. I've had many massages before and I know what's typical. My male masseuse spent an inappropriate amount of time touching and massaging my butt (probably around 70% of the "full body" massage). Multiple times while he was working on other parts of my body, he placed his "non massaging" hand on my butt as if it was a normal place to rest it. When he was "working on my lower back", he pulled my underwear down way farther than necessary. I considered saying something multiple times, but this occurred during a couple's massage, and so I convinced myself that surely nobody would intentionally touch me inappropriately with my partner 2 feet away. At one point in the massage, he moved to the front of the table and was moving his body in a thrusting motion towards my head as he worked on my shoulders. During this time, I could feel his...body...pressing into my head. Afterwards, I looked at reviews and saw reviews from women explaining the similar things happened to them. I typically don't write reviews, but I felt like I had to share my experience. When it comes to customer service, I have nothing to complain about. They were nice and the massage ladies were very hardworking (which is why I gave them an extra star because I do respect individuals that work hard for an honest paycheck). Other than that, everything else was not so good for the following reasons: (One): The restroom and the surrounding areas was very smelly, it kind of smelled like mold + humidity mixed together. (Two): The facial dried out my face, cheap skincare residue was left on my face after the facial was done, and the face massage just felt like she was lightly tapping her fingers on my face. I honestly would rather just have used my own skincare products at home. (Three): I've gotten many massages done in my life, but this is the first time where I felt like I came out of the massage parlor with more problematic knots on my back vs. coming in. My boyfriend can attest to this as well. His lower back still hurts as I'm typing this. (Four): We paid for a total of 90 mins (60 mins massage & 30 mins facial), but we were only given less than 70 mins of service in total (we timed it on our phone). Yes, I should have said something, but I didn't want to be that person. I just paid and left after being told that they were done. Overall, there was nothing bad that was done intentionally (which is why I said in the beginning that everyone there was working for an honest paycheck), but I would not come back here for the reasons I listed above. Zen Day Spa was able to squeeze me in for about an hour long hydrating facial and it was one of the best facial I ever had. The owner worked her magic on me and had my skin bounced back to life.
