I've had a regular therapist for a couple of years and I'm very particular about who I work with as I am usually a knotted mess and tend to need very deep muscle work. Most therapists can't get some of my problem areas to relax and I've tended to stay with the same therapist once I find one. Unfortunately, my primary therapist (and her backup in the massage center that I go to) has been getting booked up more and more and I really needed some work done. My lower back and neck were a mess. I had a crushing headache. I needed help NOW. After looking around I found Relaxing Rituals and saw that Melody worked with athletes and did sports therapy. I figured it was worth a shot. I was a little nervous asking her for a same day appointment but she took pity on me and adjusted schedules to get me in. She only had 60 minutes available but it turned out to be just enough. In a word, Melody was fantastic. First of all, she is very professional and did a quick consult on my problem areas. She told me what she was going to do and checked with me throughout the massage to ensure that I was comfortable and that the work was helping. It's always uncomfortable for me working with a new therapist (it's why I tend to be pretty loyal to the therapist I see) but Melody was easy to talk to and very friendly. In addition to the deep tissue work, she did some stretching of my legs and lower back which was really good. I left there much more loose and limber than when I came in. Headache was totally gone. I was very pleased with the session with Melody. While she kept telling me that the space she is currently in isn't up to her standards, the room was very clean, the equipment was comfortable, and the location was very easy to get to. Had an excellent post marathon deep tissue massage with Melody. She was very accommodating of my schedule and squeezed me in within a few hours notice. I explained that I wanted a massage which mainly focused on legs (which were trashed from the downhills). She worked on every one of my running muscles and made sure that the pressure was just correct. She ended with some bonus massage on the abs. Overall a great massage and she earned a return customer. I met Melody for the first time yesterday and the massage was fantastic! I chose the relaxation massage but it was still firm enough that I really enjoyed it. The conversation during was great but there were times that I got so lost in how good I felt that is was hard to keep up coherently.........sorry Melody! I get massages regularly and this is certainly not the norm. She was very engaging and it certainly didn't hurt that she is absolutely smoking hot. I've had hundreds of massages over the years, mainly deep tissue and relaxation. I thought I'd had the best until I had my first massage with Melody. This girl is THE BOMB!! She is a strong atheletic power house who can get in and work it all, but without the painful digging and prodding to which so many massage therapists resort in order to work out the knots. Not Melody. She has a methodical, rhythmic strong approach applying deep pressure with out the digging that I find painful and counterproductive to my healing. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of muscle and work going on, but it is smooth, even and it just flows. Her massages are like a dance, and with the awesome vibrant yet relaxing music she selects, one is carried into a pure bliss state. She tells you where your problem areas are, and asks how you're doing frequently throughout the session. She's got a delightful personality which really adds to the experience. Kind and caring yet hilarious, she really knows how to set one at ease. I'm a woman that used to prefer mens massages, but in this case, she blows them all away. Melody is sure to please!! read more
