Terrible customer service is an understatement. The owner sent staff to my house who didn't speak English & I do not speak Spanish. Which is fine if I knew ahead of time so I can ensure I have someone available that speaks Spanish to communicate! I tried to call the owner she refuses to answer because she said her child & family is still asleep? How is that my problem? You're a business owner! Meanwhile my scheduled time was 8:30 they come @8:10 which again is fine if that was communicated to me. I was charged $100 deposit because it was two cleaning people understand my confusion when I only see one. Apparently the 2nd one was on the way which again was never communicated to me. Where to start with this horrible service. Long story short after really bad communication and late responses I confirmed a day but I was desperate. After agreeing at 35 an hour per person (2 people) I expected my 3000 sq foot apartment to be clean in 4 hours like any reasonable person! However they came and in and after 2 hours only did 2 rooms! My house was by no means that dirty! After 3 hours I had only 3 rooms cleaned and instead of apologizing or saying that that is unacceptable the main lady on the phone refused to admit the people were slow and blamed my house! She continuously refused to take responsibility annnnd after copying me a $318 bill for a half clean house I am appalled how this business has any decent reviews! Stay away people! read more

RUN AWAY! Where do I begin? SMH. I was quoted a reasonable price after agreeing to bi-weekly. My place is clean and not hard to clean so, there were no surprises. They failed to clean well the first time - average at best. They sent a second crew of people who did a decent job so she promised the keep that crew. The third cleaning she sent a completely different crew and tried to tell me they were the same people on the previous job which wasn't true - that crew did a bad job. She also no showed a couple times. Beyond all the back and forth trying to get the place clean, she raised the rate. I obviously canceled... What happens next? REFUSED TO RETURN MY KEY! Dear God, lol. How could a business be so unstable and cause hassles for any customer regardless of circumstances? It's now been months and I've politely asked to get my key back and she won't do it. When I started calling her out for her behavior she blocked me. Really? Hey owner! Owning a good business is about accountability and being kind, not living in denial of feedback. I have been using Zen Keepers for a few years now and I am so happy with them! They come once a week, and the cleaners are always so cheerful and sweet with our dogs (who can be a bit irritating to visitors). I've also used Zen Keepers to clean us a couple of rental properties I have, and it was such a relief to have them take care of preparing the unit for the next tenant. 10/10, definitely recommend! read more

I gave this service ONE STAR on the unprofessionalism of the owner of Zen Keepers, Linette, AND her team, Yuni and Leo. She misrepresented her service and the employees lie. Linette claims Zen Keepers: 1)works on an hourly basis, cleans "whatever the homeowner requests from week to week." "No standard cleaning things can be different week to week at the owners request." 2)represents they have "no problem using the homeowners cleaning products upon request." 3)sends a "2-person cleaning team based on "fit" for the homeowner/home;" If the homeowner isn't happy with the team, there are other teams. 4) Linette does not personally supervise the cleaning. 5) the homeowner "communicates directly with the cleaners on what you need or want done, and how to do it." 6)has a "$50 cancellation fee should you cancel the cleaning within a 48 hour window of it scheduled." Zen Keepers came 2x. 1st week during cleaning, I asked questions on how they would clean, showed where things were in my house, asked about products/equipment etc; pointed out things cleaned weekly, bi monthly or monthly and asked opinions. Cleaners answered my questions, had no issues with requests to use my cleaning products or equipment. 2nd week same team, I asked refrigerator be cleaned, no cleaning blinds done week prior, asked to vacuum the upholstery(2 couches/ small sectional). I was willing to pay the hours it took to do it. Also requested just swiffer/damp cloth on wood furniture. Told cleaners I would purchase an upholstery attachment for their vacuum cleaner so they would not use the dirty floor attachment on my couches, gross. 3rd week, Sunday night 8 pm w/in 48 hrs Linette texted cleaning crew was "not comfortable coming to my home" because "We have our way of cleaning and using the products that we know, it's too complicated to have to remember the amount of detail that you need in your home and each product and the way you want them to clean it." Also "it's not only the products, you asked them to use your rags (rather then rags used in all houses?) and you follow them around the house while they clean (instead of 2 PEOPLE wandering my house w/out supervision), and you ask them to reclean things they already cleaned," So NO using my cleaning products, NO directly talking tothe cleaners on how I want things cleaned, NO asking them to clean different things week to week Linette claimed I should have waited till the cleaning was done and THEN told cleaners what needed to be re-cleaned. SO wait and inspect and THEN extend the cleaning, pay more money to reclean! No supervisor so it's your word against the cleaners. I'm Linette said I was "nasty and threatening" cause I would tell friends about this. It's "her right" to fire a client w/out going to the next cleaning to see if her employees are honest, and "her employees don't have to work somewhere they don't want to" She doesn't get to misrepresent her services and not expect a poor review in return. Zen Keepers Ok so this is a first. I am rating a business whose services I have not used yet. My wife and I purchased a home (yay us!), but it needed reno work. This is not a unique situation. Quite common scenario actually. The problem was we had a short window to get the reno done, pack, and be out of our current rental, (boooo). I am an OCD ADHD, anal-retentive SOB. OMG. So I had to search, and research, and research, and scrutinize websites, reviews, and speak to various individuals bombarding them with a plethora of inquiries and concerns. I did this for flooring contractors, pool fence installers, a/c installers, painters, popcorn ceiling removal, and finally home cleaners. I was able to find really great companies and more importantly, great people. There have been quite a few hiccups and some negative experiences, but overall I feel good about who we chose and the work they've done. Which leads me to Zen. The last step, well, not last since homes are never-ending projects, of this pain in the arse renovatio, home cleaning. We have a couple of ladies that come out now but they are cutting back on services and quite frankly the level of service has slipped. So we couldn't get them to come out to the new home to clean and it left us with a stressful dilemma. There's dust from drywall and floor sanding,everywhere. We have 3 kids, one a two year old, and did not want to move them in before the place got cleaned. We were told the work would all be done by Saturday morning, and so we had secured our current cleaning ladies for that time. Then we were hit with a delay. Project wouldn't be done until Sunday. Movers are coming Monday. Frick on a stick! So now it's crunch time to find a cleaning crew that can come on a Sunday (and after 11.am). Spoke to 2 different companies and they couldn't come out. Another I left a message for and never received a call back. Double frick! So I turn to my good pal, Yelp. I come across Zen Keepers, and I think, well hell, I could use some Zen right about now. I spoke to Lynette who could not be sweeter. I explained my situation and what we needed. Unfortunately she wasn't available. But I think she heard the desperation and stress in my voice and did something no business does, recommended a competitor. The other company came out, they didn't do a great job, but they are coming back to redo the job. And, Lynette did advise that she could not vouch for them. So where I will not use the company recommended to me, I will definitely give Lynette and Zen Keepers a try for our next cleaning. If the level of service was this high for someone not using their services I can only imagine what they do for their own clients. Thank you, Lynette! **2.25.19 Update**. I have changed my rating from 4 stars to 5, b/c my previous review was prior to me using Zen Keepers service. We've been using them now for 4 or 5 months and are very happy with the quality of work they do. Lynette is super nice and accommodating. The ladies that come are also very nice and work hard. They do not give attitude, as previous cleaners have, when you point out something that was missed. They take pride in what they do and it shows. Call Zen Keepers today. A response can sometimes take 1-3 days, or it may come within minutes or hours. Either way, i's worth the wait. You won't find anyone better to clean your house/apt. I started using Zen Keepers' services late last year. It is difficult to find a cleaning service who communicates well, always arrives on time, does a fantastic job and who has reasonable prices. Well, I found them! I currently use their services for my own home, along with a rental pro worry I own. Lynette and her team are very professional.
