First, Let me just start with Zen Maids is an exemplary cleaning service. The owner Kassie, her executive assistant Morgan and her cleaning team care about what they do and they do it well. If you can't bear to read the rest of this long review the short of it is I am thoroughly satisfied with Zen Maids and they will be my go to for cleaning services specialized and regularly as long as I own property in the area. 5 STARS!!!!! Now, if you are like me and enjoy a good story see below... Storytime: I don't even know how to begin to review Zen Maids without wanting to cry. I will not bore you with all of the details of why I needed Zen Maids in the first place but it was traumatic. I live on the east coast and one of my properties is on the west coast and it is hard to manage taking care of everything all the time, let alone when an unexpected catastrophe happens. Due to a recent flood, I have to get some construction work done in my place. I had to wait until I could scrape up the money to do it, which took a few months. My contractor went in and contacted me to let me know that my power seemed to be out and my refrigerator was a mess. Mold, spoiled food, water accumulation, just horrible. He sent me pictures and I swear my chest started hurting because I so was overwhelmed. I had the money for the repairs to be done, but now on top of that to have to figure out how to pay for a flight to California, clean out what I could and then arrange for the fridge to be removed by the city, it was just too much and I was out of Ativan (and I'm not even joking). I said I wouldn't bore you with all of the details and this is the abridged version believe me. Alright now, this is the IMPORTANT part. I tried frantically to contact different cleaning agencies to possibly send someone one, anyone over to the place to do a specialized cleaning for the refrigerator. It would be cheaper for me if it worked out, so I gave it a try. I must have contacted 6 different places and 6 different times I was told "We don't do that kind of work".... And then the 7th (oh lucky number 7) was Zen Maids. Kassie, the owner contacted me directly, they were booked solid for weeks but she didn't say no. I lit a candle for "Zen-ness", I woo-sah'd and replied to her message that I would take any date and time that she could do. She must have felt the warmth from the little candle so many miles away, read the stress of my note and said they would make it happen. And they did, not in weeks, in days. I don't know how she worked it out but she, her executive assistant Morgan and her cleaning crew MADE IT HAPPEN! The pictures will tell a greater story than I (I will try to upload before and after) but I just wanted to say that when all hope, in my mind was lost and I thought I had no other options, I was reassured by Zen Maids and then they over-delivered. I pray that you are never in a situation where you are in as dire a situation as I was or worse. But if you are, please remember that I join the other 5 Star reviewers here on Yelp and we told you where to go. I will continue my relationship with Zen Maids as long as I am in the area. I encourage you to use their services for whatever your cleaning needs are. I am thoroughly impressed and I hope you can feel just a fraction of how pleased and grateful I am to have found with this review. We have been using them since the spring to clean our vacation rental in La Quinta and have had zero complaints from our guests since switching from another company in the area. They have so many little touches like folding the toilet paper and tissue boxes extra cute, using all non-toxic cleaning supplies and stickers on the paper towels so you know its a fresh roll. We have several vacation properties in California and Arizona and deal with a lot of different cleaning companies and none even come close to Zen maids. My initial walk through with Maricela was great, the attention to detail that she brings is second to none. Love that there were so many questions asked about exactly how we could like our vacation rental set up, and tips and tricks to help us make our cleaning/guest experience as smooth as possible. Unfortunately Zen Maids quality and professionalism has greatly gone down since we started with them. We had been loyal clients and from our recent experiences in the past 6 months, we no longer use them. We have a short term rental in which we give them quite a bit of business every month, as our rental is booked almost everyday. Zen Maids quality and consistency has gone down greatly in the past 6 months, as we have received quite a bit of bad reviews due to cleanliness from the cleaners. They also started charging quite a bit more money per month with little notice. So we had to come out of pocket with the new charge for cleaning since we have bookings booked out and the notice was very short. They also started over charging for everything they typically do. We had a bill that said extra laundry with $100 extra charge on top of the $230 cleaning fee for a short term rental. When we send the bill to guests, we send it with an explanation so we asked Zen Maids what the extra laundry charge was since it wasn't clear to why extra laundry would be used since our supply closet is Locked so no towels or sheets or bedding were used extra. They wrote back and said it wasn't laundry, it was "extra dirty" but the pictures they sent looked like a standard guest cleaning. This had happened a few times where the explanation for extra charges wasn't clear and they add on more money. Kassie the owner would get extremely defensive when we asked. Also, they would not accommodate numerous cleanings we needed. We would give them 2-3 months advance notice when the guest would book, and many times they would tell us to use a backup cleaner. Even if we got a booking within 2-3 weeks of the date, they typically never were able to accommodate it. The worst thing that happened was again another charge was added on our bill and we asked what it was for since we have to charge guests and they typically question and ask us why. Kassie decided to cancel all of our bookings and defensively wrote us an email to find another vendor because she doesn't want to explain why she charged more on our bill. We had bookings with Zen Maids from November to next April booked. We tried to call her to see what happened and she sent us to VM. We wrote her an email and never responded. Now we are left with no one to clean our vacation rental with someone checking in the next day. It was completely unprofessional with no understanding that we trusted them with our home and guests to leave us high and dry. I think Zen Maids was great a year ago but they got too busy and cannot handle their volume of clients so they cut clients on a whim. They also were not cleaning thoroughly anymore and charging more money than any quotes we had ever gotten from any cleaners. They also add on extra charges without explanation and definitely do not want to be asked any questions about the overages. The cleaners were also never the same ones that came to the house to clean, so it wouldn't be consistent and we would get a bad review because they forgot to put our towels or the garage door opener, or forget remotes were supposed to be in certain rooms. We were on the fence on cancelling them prior to this because of the stated reasons but felt we didn't want to hurt their business since we give them thousands of dollars a month. I am glad it worked out this way because it allowed us to see how unprofessional Kassie is when she is stressed and really doesn't care about her clients. read more

Horrible experience! If it hadn't happened to me I probably wouldn't believe it. Cleaned my home twice, first time did ok job. Decided I would give a second chance....big mistake. I came home during the cleaning in my driveway I caught the supervisor smoking meth in her car! I fired her on spot and she and her crew left but only after stealing $400 from my wallet (the reason I had come back home) caller police and they were little help. Called owner and no response. Ive been very pleased using Zen Maid both the quality of their work and the professionalism of the office staff. I would highly recommend them. I have been using Zen Maids since March 2015 on our weekend/vacation. We average 1-3 cleanings a month. The office staff is very responsive to scheduling cleanings. The actual cleaning crew have always shown up on time and done a nice job cleaning up our house. They have learned the little nuances of how our place needs to be arranged. They also alert me if we are running low on supplies. The office staff is well organized and uses electronic/on line billing for payment. Just a few clicks and the bill is paid! Their owner Kassie even helped us out once in a pinch and loaned us a duvet/pillow cases until a replacement came in the mail. If you looking for a professional, well run cleaning service, you should definitely consider Zen Maids. UPDATE: Their new billing system accepts Apple Pay. Cleanings varied widely in quality. Sometimes the place was spotless and sometimes I ended up having to re-clean. Also, make sure you confirm everything with them in writing as having a phone call and setting a cleaning date or confirming a cleaning date via telephone doesn't seem to register with them. They moved my cleaning date at the end of the month in peak season and claim they never had a conversation with me on the phone confirming dates. Spectacular. The Zen maidens are the best. Our bathrooms and kitchen glistened after their work. Their attention to detail is unparalleled. We have a home in PGA on Legends Way that we use as a vacation rental. Our property manager hired Zen Maids to clean after every guest. On occasion, our house is not rented and we come out to enjoy the desert and all the wonderful golf courses. Every time we come in I'm thrilled with how clean and well cared for our home is. We've had two previous property managers and we were unhappy with both and cancelled our contract. The cleaning services had a lot to do with the dissatisfaction we had. We're extremely happy now. My initial experience with zen maids was amazing. First two cleanings they were on time and did an excellent job. Later on, every time I scheduled an appointment they show up late or not show up at all. I usually have a very tight schedule and I couldn't depend on them for being on time. After exchanging emails with the owner, she recommended I go find another cleaning service. I didn't have to pay for the last couple of times they messed up on the schedule . But rather than working on fixing this issue, they let their customers go. I understand mistakes happen in every business, it's a learning opportunity to improve.
