Although Zen was a sweet lady , I went in for microdermabrasion and she SCRATCHED my face up so bad on the side it looked like I had just gotten in a fight and the side of my face was burned , I've had microdermabrasion before and NEVER has my face ever looked like how it looked after I left her . I been there before and had a good experience. So I decided to try one more time. I'm so disappointed I went. She burned both sides of my face. Went to the doctors next day and was told it was a chemical burn. All she can tell me it was normal and heal by Thursday or Friday. I missed two days of work due to pain, swelling and discomfort. Although Zen was very nice during my first and only appointment with her, the Pumpkin Refresh treatment she gave me burned and scarred my face. She insisted afterward that the wounds would not scar my face, but nearly 4 months later, I still have the circular scars. I've been getting facials for over 15 years and have never had this happen. Zen told me exactly which ingredients and treatments she used for the Pumpkin Refresh that she gave and every esthetician I've shared the details with indicates that the treatment was overly aggressive and that a retinol infused product (the Pumpkin enzyme) should not be used after microdermabrasion. The experts indicated that that the enzyme she used post-microdermabrasion was too aggressive as it was exfoliating the skin after Zen had already manually exfoliated (Microdermabrasion) my skin. As such, the enzyme began to EAT THE LIVE TISSUE ON MY FACE. Zen told me use Aquafor (an ointment for burns) and that the wounds would heal in 2-3 days. Nearly 4 months later, I still have the scars despite Zen telling me that the burns her treatment caused would not scar. Mind you, this skin was perfectly healthy before I went in. Although Zen was very nice, she never apologized, took responsibility for the scarring or offered me a refund. read more
