Last week I went on two legged journey. One to Austin, to work on a project. the other a Journey of the mind via Zen Well. This little gem is going to be one of Austin's finest experiences in no time. The facility is clean and fresh and crisp, yet placid and warming to the senses upon arrival, a rare quality in most massage facilities I have visited. Let me preface by saying I have experienced massages all over the world in my travels and yet this was my first "Thai" style massage, and it will definitely not be my last. The unique combination of strength and pressure using not only hands in this style of massage easily had me slipping into my use of yoga deep breathing techniques which Allison, my "tour guide", as I called her, could sense and utilized in my session with her. Zen Well incorporates a flat, rolled style mat on the floor of the ample curtained off parlor, which in itself is unique. The lack of closed in walls adds to the easiness of the total experience you receive here. After an hour of stretching and pressure applied like I have never experienced before Allison sat quietly and we discussed the goals of the encounter and her recommendations for further stress release I may use in my everday endeavours. I felt like I was left on a cloud after journeying down a peaceful river in the hands of an expert. P.S. Thai massage has been called "Lazy Man's Yoga" because you simply relax on the floor cushion and your massage therapist gently puts you into yoga positions that nourish and heal you. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it! I have been coming to Zen Well for years and absolutely adore this place. I have been to Zen Well a handful of times and have never been disappointed! The spa setting is one of the most relaxing I've experienced, especially in such an unassuming location. The floor-to-ceiling waterfall and low lights are instantly calming. My recommended services are Thai Massage and Hand & Foot Reflexology. Lydia is a wonderful therapist for both! I had severe neck pain when I walked into Zen Well this afternoon, after sleeping poorly, and she was attentive - almost intuitive - to the area of concern. After a much needed 80 minute session, I have more range of motion in my neck than I have had in a week. Had my first massage on Sunday with a young lady named Aubrey. I scheduled on short notice and unfortunately they only had 30 mins available but she was simply amazing. Perfect amount of pressure was applied and honestly My neck and upper back was definitely feeling much more relaxed when I left. I did not want it to end. She only works on Sunday unfortunately but definitely one to experience. I also went back today and had a 50 minute massage with Christopher. He did some Thai massage or so it seemed initially. Was super knowledgeable about what was going on in my Traps and the muscle cluster surrounding it. Deep some really deep work into my back & neck muscles which felt amazing along with my shoulder hands and arms where I have some areas due to always being on the computer. Hes super calm as well and does not rush . You will really enjoy working with him as well. So 2 massages, 2 different therapists, Both were high quality and exceptional. I heard good things about Zen Well from a friend so I decided to try it out for myself. I appreciated the ability to make an appointment online, I selected the "Taste of Everything" package. It was my first time trying a Thai massage and I really enjoyed it. I felt super comfortable since I was clothed and the massage area is very serene and relaxing. I came in with low-back pain. I've been here once before for reflexology and had a great experience. This second visit, I was absolutely blown away! My therapist, Julie, recommended Thai massage and It was fantastic! She seriously gave me one of the best massages I've had in a really long time. I think it was only 20-30 minutes long but it easily topped some 90-minute sessions I've had elsewhere. My back already feels a lot better. Also, she gave me the extra muscle/pain balm left over from our session - which was so nice. The prices here are very reasonable. Horrible! I was in pain, real pain but running late because of traffic. I called to tell them I was running late and was going to turn around and go home. The scheduler said come on, they would fit me in 20 minutes later. I was about a mile away and they called me and canceled while I was driving. I told them I was almost there. I would have settled for a shorter massage but they could not be bothered. This is not the kind of place I would recommend to anyone. read more

Last week I was having a hard day so my man treated me to a thai massage by Tara. She was so wonderful. I could feel that she was present throughout the massage. I felt very comfortable and relaxed. Thai massage is very active. I love it. Tara used the perfect amount of pressure and recommended a cinammon muscle rub, which at first I didnt feel necessary, but wow, it was quite nice!! I have never experienced a Thai Massage but as an athlete this was the perfect way to soothe sore muscles and relax. I did 40 minutes with Amy Jo but should have done an hour. She was very professional and you could tell she was very experienced at her art. I was shocked at how reasonable the prices were especially for such an involved procedure. The environment is also very posh. The massage rooms are very luxurious feeling and very clean. I loved the post massage treatment as well. They give you this amazing hot tea and put this serum in it that helped with my allergies. I ended up purchasing a bottle of it and love that stuff. I really wanted to find an affordable place for a massage nearby and was looking forward to my hand and foot reflexology treatment that I had scheduled last Saturday. I called to make an appointment and they were able to book me within the hour which was great! The place was clean and had a very relaxing atmosphere so I thought I would be very pleased in the end. My massage therapist was Jeff and he was soft spoken and sweet and that is exactly how my massage was. I had indicated on my paperwork that I filled out when I arrived that I like hard pressure on my massages and I also asked Jeff if he could use more pressure during the massage. However, I left feeling like I had really wasted my money. Next time I will use the money to just get a manicure pedicure where ironically they tend to give you a better hand and foot massage and you get your nails done all for the same price! read more

Best experience I have ever had at a spa! I have been getting table massages and seeing chiropractors for years to treat upper back pain and decided to try Zen Well as a new alternative. I did not have an appt, and when I walked all of the staff greeted me warmly and enthusiastically. After describing my symptoms, Jennifer suggested we do some reflexology and energy work. I loved it so much I stayed for 1.5 hours! I think I learned from Jennifer what therapeutic touch really looks like. My first massage was years ago in middle school. It was an athletic massage, which is painful and not relaxing AT ALL. I thought that's what all massage was so I vowed to never have a massage again! A few months ago, I was talked into getting a massage to try it out again. I went to Zenwell with my boyfriend and got a full-body thai massage. What an amazing experience! This place is calm, great for first timers. I loved the giant pillow beds. If you're not sure what thai massage is compared to other styles, they'll teach you. Just saw Chris for a 60 minute Thai massage & 20 minute neck & shoulder chair. When he first greeted me, he told me he looked at my chart from my previous visits. I've been bringing my daughter in to treat some muscular skeletal issues brought on by repetitive athletic overuse. We have been seeing Dawn and she has been fantastic with her. Thoroughly explains the process of Thai massage up front to her and has been thorough in treating her fascia ailments. Takes the time to listen to what her problem is and also provides her with stretches she can use at home to stay loose. All in all very happy with Dawn as our masseuse and will keep going back.
