Zen Bar is seriously lacking any Zen. We went to zen bar twice giving them the benefit of the doubt as they are new, but had some serious issues both times we went and will not be returning. They called us back a few days before our first appointments and told us that they had doubled booked and sorry... Upon complaining they were able to move some things around and get us in earlier in the day. Upon arriving we we were not in the system, but she would work it out anyway. Nice way to greet a new customer. The staff seemed stressed out full of nervous energy and rapidly took us through the facilities. Everything looked nice enough but lacked functionality or the necessary space... The change lockers were coed with two small change rooms with a shower. The doors were glass and only slightly frosted, you can see right in... The whole spaced was freezing cold. The sauna was nice and large, but lacked an in and out room. it exited right into the hallway and the floor was covered with a towel, soaking wet and freezing cold. your slippers will get wet and your feet cold. The second time we went, they moved around our appointments without even telling us. We book appointments in certain order for a reason to obtain the most benefit as you may understand... I really liked Zenbar at first. The spa was clean and the staff were very friendly. I went there for a luxury mani/pedi and my partner had the luxury mani/pedi and a bikini & upper lip wax. Between us we spent almost $300. Unfortunately, my partner had some burn marks from the wax that became more apparent a few hours later. She also had strips of hair left. When I got home, I realized manicure (almost clear polish) did not reach the edges of most of my nails, and was chipping quite a bit after 2 days. The pedicure was pretty much gone within 5 days. I wanted to leave a good review, as they were very friendly and the spa is beautiful. Unfortunately, we just don't feel like our services were worth the money we paid. read more

Experienced an amazing massage in the Salt Cave as part of the Valentines special. Colleen gave a such a good massage, I didn't want it to end. She focused on the areas that I wanted and applied the right amount of pressure. The unisex change room is small and I was sad to hear that they no longer have the hamman spa. Worth a try! read more

As a connoisseur of spas worldwide, I have come to appreciate spas that go the extra mile- and Zenbar Healing Studio certainly did that! First of all, I called them on Valentines Day, inquiring about a service for 2 people the very next Holiday Monday. While most spas weren't even available to pick up the phone, Zenbar's front desk representative answered the phone with a charming attitude and immediately began trying to accommodate my request. We wanted to try out the Hammam services, but also get a massage and try the body pod. Not only did the rep help me design an all-encompassing and affordable package, but she actually found someone who was willing to come in on their day off to do the hammam! Needless to say, I was thrilled with the result and arrived eager to check out the spa the next day. First of all, the ambiance is lovely: COMPLETELY Zen-worthy with great decor, beautifully calming treatment rooms, and the staff are all extremely friendly. They make you feel welcome and at home right away as they give you your robe/locker and a choice of tea or water while you relax in the waiting room. There was almost no wait time between my treatments and they were AMAZING. Both my boyfriend and I were completely blown away. I even got upgraded to the salt cave for my massage with no extra fee- it was heaven! I would also highly recommend doing some variation of the hammam. The steam was relaxing and great for spending some time together and the scalp treatment we did was fantastic. We also tried the light pods in between massages and found them a great way to end the day. Overall I cannot recommend Zenbar highly enough. They truly know what a high quality spa experience should be, and aren't afraid to throw in the extras that make it special. I was so very disappointed in this new spa studio located in Oakville, "Zenbar" was anything BUT "Zen" First off I found the place very small, I couldn't even move around in the halls or change room without bumping into someone. Secondly, the massage was terrible. The so called "RMT" had to be told multiple times to use more pressure. Thirdly, when i returned home that evening my back was on fire, the oil they used during the massage turned my back into a field of blisters and burns. I have never ever had this happen to me before. Terrible services and even worse after care service. Stay away! read more

Massage was below average! It was basically a rubdown (clean version). Hard to believe it was delivered by an RMT(registered massage therapist). I have had a massage at many places in the course of my life and this was very far below average. I also had a facial and pedicure as of a package which were average but not great. read more

I absolutely had a great experience. I live in the States an am not familiar with the area so had trouble finding the spa. The receptionist was friendly and helped me navigate my way to their location. I was 20 min late but they were very accommodating. My massage therapist Martin was incredible. I am a trainer and my body is a constant knot. Martin knows his way around tight overworked muscles. He was very professional and experienced. I cannot begin to express how disappointed I am with my experience at Zenbar. I took my husband there for his birthday and we enjoyed a lovely half day experience, paid our bill and left. A couple of days later, I noticed a considerable charge from Zenbar on my credit card bill. I called the company and was informed that they had made a mistake when cashing out my bill and had subsequently charged my card for the difference. No one called, emailed or sent me a text to inform me of this charge or to ask for my consent. After expressing my displeasure with the sales associate, she apologized, offered to credit my card for the amount and assured me that my card information would be removed from their system and that I would not be charged in the future. As promised, I received the credit, however a few days later, I noticed that the company had charged my card again without my consent. I called back to discuss the charge and the sales associate was not only rude and dismissive but she hung up the phone on me twice. I am currently fighting to get my money back and will be lodging a complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario for violation of privacy. Furthermore, I have yet to receive any assurance that they will not continue to charge my card. I have been to many spas over the years and this is the WORST that I have ever encountered, I will NEVER do business with these people again. read more

I won't ever go back. I came here to try an infrared bed after finding the studio online. I came in, was greeted by the receptionist and told it would just be a little bit of a wait while they cleaned the bed, no problem at all. After about 15 minutes I was shown the room where my bed was. I was rushed in and quickly shown how to turn on and off the bed and went through some quit fan settings. When I asked, the girl could not answer my questions about how the infrared worked. She had just memorized a sentence or two about the basics of what it "could" do for your health "it's good for your metabolism, it'll be revving all day"... but why? She didn't know. I was then promptly left to get in. 45 minutes went by, which was INTENSE, heart racing, extreme heat. This was fine though, I anticipated this from my own research, but the girl didn't explain anything about what I might feel while I was in it. If someone was doing this with no prior notice they could have felt very worried about the way they felt. After, I expected someone would come check on me, bring me a towel or a glass of water, maybe make sure I was ok to stand up (you get very, very dizzy and light heated). There was no water in the room, I was drenched in sweat, no one came to show me where a shower was. So I got into my clean clothes while soaked in my own sweat and made my way back to reception, where I was asked if I'd like to pay. No one asked me how my treatment was, if I needed any water, nothing! So I asked the girl if I could please have a glass of water seeing as how I was just in an infrared sauna pod for 45 minutes straight, and she was like "oh sure, it's in the lounge" (how I was suppose to know where the lounge was is beyond me). I paid my $67 and left, sweat covered and not relaxed at all. I love the infrared experience and know why it's good for your health, and I will do it again, just not here! read more

I had an amazing visit at Zenbar the other day! Not only are the facilities absolutely beautiful, but from the moment I walked in the door, everybody was incredibly helpful, warm, and friendly. I booked the thermal detox wrap with Amber, and it felt like I was in heaven! Amber was extremely informative and explained exactly what was going to happen during the wrap. Everything felt phenomenal and my skin still feels awesome! Then I went into the pod for my first pod experience, which was also heavenly. All in all, what a fantastic morning. The booking was also super easy, and the staff helped me find exactly the package I was looking for. As I was driving away, I realized I had forgotten a necklace that was extremely important to me in the pocket of my robe. I called the front desk and they looked through every robe in the bins until they found it for me. That was above and beyond and I sincerely appreciated it! I will definitely be back :) read more

I've had a few different services done at Zen Bar and have enjoyed them all. The staff are super friendly, relaxed and outgoing (I've never gotten frantic/stressed out staff). They cater to my needs and were always on time. I also enjoy how it is an all wellness facility with yoga etc because then their massage therapists were able to teach me some exercises to do at home as well. I plan to try out some of their yoga classes this week. I only wish I could afford to go more frequently :) read more

I use to receive massages only from physio clinics and this is the only spa that has ever compared. I've been coming to Zenbar for a couple of years now and I absolutely love it. I can now enjoy my massages in a relaxing environment surrounded by a very welcoming and accommodating staff. It is a very clean and well run establishment and I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a spa in the Oakville area as I don't think the other spas I have visited compare to it. If you are looking specifically looking for an RMT I would recommend visiting Martin as his techniques are impeccable and is my favourite massage therapist to date. read more
