Food that taste this good only steers me towards one day maybe going full on vegetarian. When flavor, texture and overall execution is done well, you really can covert any skeptical meat eater to expand their mind toward an all vegetarian meal and feel perfectly satisfied. The kind gentleman at Zen's was nice enough to let me substitute the egg rolls with streamed rice. I will say this food-stand makes my top 3 for The Northside Market. Seriously give it a try if you haven't. read more

5 starts isn't enough, wasn't expecting much for quality as I was looking for something to fill a void butttt maaan was it ever good, honestly best noodle bowl and bun I've ever had(#6 Combo B). Its a good thing I do not live next door I'd be there everyday, amazing food, fast and at a very reasonable price. read more

I chose to try something new, whereas my Canadian counterparts stuck with their donairs. The first sample was just divine. I was sold. Can't tell you what I had but took a picture -- Combo A $10. The lady serving, also the cook, was super nice. Even if you are a carnivore, you've gotta try her food. Just a wonderful blend for alternative soy. read more

Zensation is great!! The curry is delicious and you get a lot of food for a great price. The owner was very nice and she told us that her only dishes that aren't vegan are the noodles (egg) and one of the buns. I wish I had some of the rice and curry right now! So good!! read more

After a few days of traveling around NB, we were getting tired of pub food (there are only so many…read moreburgers, fish and chips and lobster rolls one can eat...) and were craving something different. We had walked past this cute spot and decided to grab take out. We had the tabbouleh salad and gheymeh stew. Both were flavourful and tasted really fresh. The portions are quite big. The salad had a good amount of fine bulgar, which was perfect because I don't like when tabbouleh salad is all parsley! The stew is mainly split yellow peas over rice. There is a grilled eggplant on top as garnish and it was smoky and delicious, I wanted more of that! I would suggest phoning ahead if you want to do take out. They happened to be busy on the Sunday evening that we went, so we had to wait 25 mins. for the order to be prepared. The dining room is small and cute. They have a wall of customer's comments which is fun to read. A vegan Persian restaurant is definitely a unique find in Fredericton and a nice change from other restaurants in the area!

Their Christmas menu was interesting, we had the chicken and the lamb. Chicken was flavourful and the plate as a whole, was excellent. The lamb, made us appreciate the chicken, not that it was bad, it just wasn't as good as good as the chicken! The stuffing with the chicken was delicious, highly recommend trying this niche spot for your next meal!

Claudine's is THE gem of Fredericton and consider yourself a lottery winner if you live within an hour. We came for lunch on a week day and if you are too, I strongly recommend taking their suggestion of a reservation. It was packed and we saw people pour in and subsequently disappointed. Once we took a bite, we tasted why. My husband got the seafood fettucine with lobster upgrade and I ordered the lobster benedict and they were both next level heavenly. All seafood used was at the peak of freshness and the flavors well balanced (referring to the pasta dish). It wasn't inexpensive even after converting back to US dollars but it was worth every penny. I noticed a lot of people lingering without ordering more which I thought was rude but maybe it's a cultural thing. Surprisingly, service was quick, the wait for entrees not bad considering how busy they were (lots of big parties) and the staff's passion for what they do is palpable. It may not be in the center of everything but I think not being in the tourist trap area is the ticket, do not miss this epicurean delight if you are visiting Fredericton!
