    Lamb Curry with coconut rice
    Dan S.

Five stars because all four of us ordered entrees and all of us were 100% satisfied. First the cons: Quite expensive and no alcohol (because they are Halal and Muslim from Trinidad). pros: The floor was run by exceptionally nice daughters of the personable owners who came to NB via Queens NY. We were all aware that the dishes weren't authentic. This is because the local population would not like the level of spice, nor the unusual ingredients served in many Caribbean dishes. So they fused the recipes with local ingredients to be more appealing. A Jamaican would try the Jerk and wonder what the heck he was eating. You have to be open minded when trying these dishes. I had the lamb curry and coconut rice. It was fabulous and plentiful. I was famished when i arrived and stuffed when I left. One friend had a seasoned steak that he claims was the best he's ever had. His came with rice and peas. The kitchen is open and you can watch your food get cooked if you wish. It was a hot day so we ordered a fresh frozen Mango drink that could not have tasted any better. It was served by the borderline obsequies daughter of the owner who could not stop smiling nor be any more pleasant.

The restaurant is bright and cheerful, with steel drum music playing, and everyone, including the cooks in the open kitchen, is extremely friendly. We were immediately greeted by a server who let us take a look at the menu, gave us parking advice (paid street parking, not in the lot of the attached building) and seated me while the boyfriend moved the car. The menu is sort of hilarious, with lots of recommendations including an endorsement of the chicken wings by Snoop Dogg. We were looking for a light lunch after a late breakfast, so we opted to try the wings (though I went for the crusted curry at the recommendation of the server and not Snoop's recommendation of the jerk) and the wrap of the day, which was a sweet-and-spicy beef. We also tried Mama's Caribbean Fruit Tea ($3.45), which is a sweet, tropical drink that went especially well with my wings. It's not a huge glass but it's sweet enough that I wouldn't want to guzzle it. Spiciness level is to order, and after checking to make sure I knew what I was getting into, I ordered the wings hot. While we waited for our food, our server, who seems to be the husband and father to the cooks working busily in the kitchen, asked us about our trip (we were returning from PEI) and made sure we'd seen the best stuff in New Brunswick. He tells us they plan to attend the PEI seafood festival to add more seafood options to their menu, which would be nice as Fredericton has a dearth of options there. Our food came and the portions were smaller than I'd expected but perfect for lunch - three big, meaty wings for a lunch portion with a small salad ($7.99). If I'd been hungrier I would have added an appetizer and a basket of the house made coconut bread, which sounded intriguing. The wings were really different - dusted with curry powder and maybe some other toppings and then baked until crispy and drizzled with a really good and properly hot sauce (I was offered more if I needed it, and I could have ramped it up to impress them, but I thought the spice level was perfect for the flavour of the wings). The wrap was tasty and different, sweet with a nice kick at medium spice with the tortilla crisped and drizzled with sauce ($9.75). The wings were so good that it would be great to have a dinner size available, and I'd love to see what they come up with if they're able to get a good seafood supplier. There were lots of interesting looking options on the menu as it stands, though, and another visit would be a no-brainer on a future visit to Fredericton.

I LOVE CARIBBEAN FLAVAS! The food here is absolutely to die for, the ambiance is a perfect mix of cool and colouful, and the staff is positively delightful! I came here on a date-night with my S.O. after both having had a tough day at work and we were immediately greeted and seated by "Papa", who put a smile on our grumpy little faces. I'm always skeptical of hyped-up places, but Caribbean Flavas far exceeded my expectations. We had the Jerk Chicken (omg yum!) and Curry Chicken (hello delicious!) and I had an Island Iced Tea. Everything was perfect... What else can I say? To be perfectly honest, this is one restaurant you just HAVE to try. I mean, if Snoop loved it, I know you will too!

For 10 years my husband and I have been spending the night in Fredericton, on our way to Cape Breton Island, and, until this year, we have been eating mediocre food. After discovering Caribbean Flava, those days are over! The service is charming, welcoming, and fun, and the food is outstanding! Coconut shrimp were fantastic, the wings were delicious, the Caribbean burrito so yummy. Most important, the chef and his Mom were delightful. RUN to this restaurant!

Good food. Expensive prices, at dinner time at least. Portion sizes have also shrunk since opening.

After a few days of traveling around NB, we were getting tired of pub food (there are only so many…read moreburgers, fish and chips and lobster rolls one can eat...) and were craving something different. We had walked past this cute spot and decided to grab take out. We had the tabbouleh salad and gheymeh stew. Both were flavourful and tasted really fresh. The portions are quite big. The salad had a good amount of fine bulgar, which was perfect because I don't like when tabbouleh salad is all parsley! The stew is mainly split yellow peas over rice. There is a grilled eggplant on top as garnish and it was smoky and delicious, I wanted more of that! I would suggest phoning ahead if you want to do take out. They happened to be busy on the Sunday evening that we went, so we had to wait 25 mins. for the order to be prepared. The dining room is small and cute. They have a wall of customer's comments which is fun to read. A vegan Persian restaurant is definitely a unique find in Fredericton and a nice change from other restaurants in the area!
