After a few days of traveling around NB, we were getting tired of pub food (there are only so many burgers, fish and chips and lobster rolls one can eat...) and were craving something different. We had walked past this cute spot and decided to grab take out. We had the tabbouleh salad and gheymeh stew. Both were flavourful and tasted really fresh. The portions are quite big. The salad had a good amount of fine bulgar, which was perfect because I don't like when tabbouleh salad is all parsley! The stew is mainly split yellow peas over rice. There is a grilled eggplant on top as garnish and it was smoky and delicious, I wanted more of that! I would suggest phoning ahead if you want to do take out. They happened to be busy on the Sunday evening that we went, so we had to wait 25 mins. for the order to be prepared. The dining room is small and cute. They have a wall of customer's comments which is fun to read. A vegan Persian restaurant is definitely a unique find in Fredericton and a nice change from other restaurants in the area! read more

Came here during our east coast road trip. The waiter was super nice!!! He recommended a few dishes and things to do and see around the city. He made sure we were comfortable and checked in on us about food and water. The food is good, we rarely eat this type of cuisine so it was nice to try. The lentil soup was really good! The decor of this place is also amazing! A lot of local art all over the walls really adds to the place. Overall it's a nice place to come in and grab a bite if you're in the city! read more

A cute Persian-influenced cafe located right across from Kings Place. Great for full meals as well as coffee/tea/sweets! The interior design is really cute and the cafe feels like a restaurant due to the more formal table setup. You can do pick up here, but if you choose to dine in it's sit-down-order-from-a-menu style unlike other cafes in town like Chess Piece. So, I wouldn't recommend here to do work since it feels too formal. However, it is exceptionally quiet here and the tables are large, so if you don't give a damn about disturbing the ambiance you could definitely bring your laptop, books, etc. The menu features many vegan and vegetarian options, yay! It is Middle Eastern cuisine, so options like tabbouleh salad, lentil soups, hummus, baklava (dessert), etc can be found on the menu. Besides a lengthy savory menu (apps, entrees, salads and soups), they also have a short dessert menu and cakes at the front. We ordered 3 appetizers today -- grape leaves (4 for $4, they are quite small but great quality) from their specials menu, hummus with pita bread (which looked and tasted like garlic bread), and falafels with tzatziki dip (4 for $5, not overly oily at all and great texture balance between soft vs crispy). We also tried their hot ginger tea and traditional Persian tea (black tea with cardamon and cinnamon, in-house leaves - not from a bag!). The Persian tea smelled lovely and had a pleasant hint of cinnamon taste. They have many coffee options as well, including Turkish coffee. They take debit and credit. Food 4/5 - Well made, fresh ingredients, can't argue with the taste. I came here back in October 2018 with two friends. Service was good. I ordered the walnut stew which came with rice. The stew was delicious for the first few bites, however I found that it was too rich to eat the whole thing in one sitting, without the rice it would have been difficult to eat. We were visiting from out of town and so pleased to find a restaurant offering vegan food. Lovely wait staff and a welcoming owner. Chic decor and lighting and an interesting and engaging selection of art on the walls. Food was very good, served with an artful flair, in a timely manner. Very reasonable pricing. Interesting that I'm the first review for this place. I went in here wanting to sit down and have some hookah. I sat on a clear plastic chair and leaned on a table with a weird snakeskin pattern cloth. The room was pretty cramped, the place is definately not optimized for space. You can someone in the other room cleaning the equipment with a noisy dust devil vaccum cleaner. It took them over an hour before I had my hookah, and they insisted on playing loud club music....hookah is something to help relax with, not a party tool. Cinnamon Cafe is no longer a hookah cafe (due to municipal smoking by-laws), so they have reinvented themselves as a vegetarian and vegan cafe. The food is extremely delicious, too. In fact, I'm confident that I've never had a better falafel in my life and that the same goes for their tabouleh. We all agreed that their hummus and homemade za'atar bread appetizer game was pretty strong. Finished with a Turkish coffee and the most amazing vegan dark chocolate orange-infused cashew butter cake. I will be returning soon for sure. read more

I needed to sit and do a little of work so I stopped in. I had the cafe latte, some lentil soup and some falafel dippers. It was ok but the lentil soup was quite bland. The falafel was ok, certainly not great though. I was able to sit on their couch and use their wifi so it met my needs. As a quality coffee place or hangout type of lounge cafe for over an hour, I can't see it being a good choice. But for a light middle eastern snack or meal to chat and sit for a little while, I think it would be good. read more

I was so busy enjoying the food I neglected to photo it.......I will say best falafels this side of the world. Some very tasty stews butternut squash, best balsamic rice! Lentil soup so tasty and the homemade bread served with it. All the food we were served kept getting better and better. The end chocolate cake (flourless) and coffee! This was a very delicious meal, generous portions. Service was excellent! Fredericton is so lucky to have this gem! I have driven over 150 miles for lunch happy I did! read more
