Came here during our east coast road trip. The waiter was super nice!!! He recommended a few dishes and things to do and see around the city. He made sure we were comfortable and checked in on us about food and water. The food is good, we rarely eat this type of cuisine so it was nice to try. The lentil soup was really good! The decor of this place is also amazing! A lot of local art all over the walls really adds to the place. Overall it's a nice place to come in and grab a bite if you're in the city!

A cute Persian-influenced cafe located right across from Kings Place. Great for full meals as well as coffee/tea/sweets! The interior design is really cute and the cafe feels like a restaurant due to the more formal table setup. You can do pick up here, but if you choose to dine in it's sit-down-order-from-a-menu style unlike other cafes in town like Chess Piece. So, I wouldn't recommend here to do work since it feels too formal. However, it is exceptionally quiet here and the tables are large, so if you don't give a damn about disturbing the ambiance you could definitely bring your laptop, books, etc. The menu features many vegan and vegetarian options, yay! It is Middle Eastern cuisine, so options like tabbouleh salad, lentil soups, hummus, baklava (dessert), etc can be found on the menu. Besides a lengthy savory menu (apps, entrees, salads and soups), they also have a short dessert menu and cakes at the front. We ordered 3 appetizers today -- grape leaves (4 for $4, they are quite small but great quality) from their specials menu, hummus with pita bread (which looked and tasted like garlic bread), and falafels with tzatziki dip (4 for $5, not overly oily at all and great texture balance between soft vs crispy). We also tried their hot ginger tea and traditional Persian tea (black tea with cardamon and cinnamon, in-house leaves - not from a bag!). The Persian tea smelled lovely and had a pleasant hint of cinnamon taste. They have many coffee options as well, including Turkish coffee. They take debit and credit. Food 4/5 - Well made, fresh ingredients, can't argue with the taste. Main complaint = lackluster presentation of the food Value 3.5/5 - Many options are under $10, but small portion sizes Service 4/5 - Our first server (a younger guy) was kinda disengaged and a bit unprofessional, but the older female server was very kind and attentive Venue 4.5/5 - pretty and quiet, lots of seating

But in the end, you can't beat a pizza topped with fresh creative toppings baked in a giant wood fired oven. For that, Milda's delivers! Milda's is located in the basement of the Charlotte Street Arts Centre. This isn't much for signage outdoors, so you'll have to go searching through the building's hallways to find it. On entering, you'll find a counter with the day's menu where you can place your order before taking a seat to await your meal. The menu includes several pizza varieties plus some fresh healthy sides and delicious baked goods. On this visit, I shared a special pizza and salad. The eggplant, smoked cheese and garlic pizza (which came with olives, tomatoes, and spinach) was loaded up with grilled eggplant which paired perfectly with the smokey cheese. The salad was a grilled salad involving mixed greens, grilled zucchini, peppers, blanched beans, cauliflower and a tahini lemon dressing. The highlight of this was definitely the housemade dressing with the tahini adding a wonderful richness to an otherwise light salad. The restaurant operates at the farmers market and has a food truck that appears at events, so loads of opportunities to try the full menu!
