Dishonest and high pressure sales tactics. I have a 3 fam that I rent out. One of my tenants complained about not having heat. I made an appointment with Zoella for the next day. Upon arrival the tech called me and said my systems were so old they would not touch them. They said two were not working (which was a lie) and that I should replace all 3. They made a point to stress safety as their top concern and also said I would never be able to find parts. They quickly gave me a proposal and stressed that they needed to know right away to make it happen for the following week. All this despite having never even looked at my systems to see if they could figure out what was wrong. I was able to get another licensed heating company out the same day. The other company's tech confirmed that two of my systems were operating exactly as they should which was confirmed by my tenants. The unit that I called about needed a new transformer and it fired right up without issue and the tech confirmed all 3 units were operating safely. Zeolla operates akin to a dishonest mechanic or a surgeon doing unnecessary surgery, and these guys should be investigated. The worst part is that they were willing to let my tenant go without heat for an extended period of time in order to con me. read more

Very frustrating dealing with this company. Waited on estimate, showed up, didn't have a definitive answer on what needed to have done. They said they'd be back on early the next week, then no show. I texted, it was one calamity after the other. I stayed patient as they promised to come back the next day, then the next. No follow up now. Very disappointing as the issue was time sensitive and now I've wasted even more time not calling other plumbers. Excellent customer service. We had a gas leak emergency where Columbia gas shut off our gas, leaving us without heat. Having a newborn this was less than ideal. After calling Zeolla, Derek and his team were at my house within an hour, and were able to isolate the issue. They helped coordinate with Columbia gas and the city inspector, saving me so much hassle. We just moved into our house and noticed a leak in the cold water line of the washing machine and we couldn't even turn the hot water line on because it was so badly corroded. I reached out to Zeolla after business hours and they contacted me the very next day to set up an appointment to come out and look at the issue. They were able to send two people out on the day that worked best for my husband and I. Charles and Mark were by far the best plumbers we have ever worked with. They were knowledgeable- explaining everything to us and answering our millions of questions, professional and funny. They finished the work super quickly and the price was way lower than we had anticipated. We got an estimate to install a toilet and a vanity in a half bath we're looking to finish as well as install a garbage disposal. Without a doubt we will call them when we're ready to do that work and we hope that we can get Charles and Mark again because they were so awesome. My husband wanted to get a new valve for our water system. I read reviews on Angieslist and left a voice message for Doug. Literally minutes after I left the voice message, Doug called me back. Brian, the plumber who came to my house, was right on time, did a great job untangling the mess that had been left with the old machine, and left everything completely clean. We had a great experience with Derek and Zeolla plumbing. We had our 20 year old boiler break down for the third time in two weeks and we knew it was time for a new system. Derek came out on MLK day and followed up with an estimate a few hours later. We accepted and he began working on the emergency install the next morning. We were able to temporarily fix the boiler but we knew it would break down again in no time. Derek worked from the office for the majority of the project to ensure we weren't out of heat and hot water for longer than a day. Derek had us up and running by end of day Thursday with our new energy efficient boiler and tank-less hot water heater and we couldn't be happier. I have used Doug twice in the last year. I found him on Craigslist last year when I had no hot water at 6am. I discovered that my basement was flooded. He dropped everything he was doing and had me and my kids back in good shape that same day. He advised me to save my money because the other hot water heater would probably die within a year. 11.5 months later, while on vacation my other hot water heater died and I texted Doug at 11:45pm, to let him know what happened and he was at my home at 7am Saturday morning on Labor Day Weekend! I've finally found a plumber I can trust! Zeolla truly cares about their customers. They are professional, on time, courteous, reliable, and have very reasonable prices. I honestly can't say enough good things about them. They were a dream to work with and I know I can always trust them with future plumbing needs. They came in to save the day after our previous plumber improperly installed our boiler combi and then left us in the lurch. I just redid the bathroom in the Fenway area of Boston. I posted on Craigslist for a plumber and got many replies, of course. Even just from that point (Doug's response) you could tell that he makes an effort with regard to communication and service. We made an appointment for the following day, looked it over, he emailed a price within a day, and started within another day or so. Technically, Doug and his son know what they're doing, and dealt with unexpected issues that came up along the way. After the rough plumbing was completed, I brought in a tiling guy, and Doug returned the day after that was completed to install a new toilet and vanity/sink/faucet. At first we tried this place due to the 5-star reviews and wanted to support a local business. The initial call went great, called in the evening regarding small wet stains appearing and was told someone would be right out in the morning to check it out. Plumber was on time in the morning. Then things were a little rocky... the plumber had forgotten many of his tools, but fine. The job wasn't a big one as it was really nothing and just required some caulking so his forgotten tools didn't affect this particular job. The terrible part starts with the payment. Along with the forgotten tools, he forgot his credit card payment reader. He old-fashionly gives a piece of paper with a price written on it and a number to call/text for payment then proceeds to say how bad he feels for charging so much for essentially no real plumbing work done. So upon hearing even his opinion, we contacted the person who's number we were given to inquire about the price (which was not pre-quoted or anything) and was rudely just told to "keep our money and never call back". WOW! I wasn't aware in this day and age we are not allowed to ask a simple question, especially when we were under the impression they were going to give a quote first after they "check it out" and they do not have a website that states CLEARLY they have a flat $150 "service charge" nor did they mention it on the initial call the previous evening. We wouldn't have minded sucking it up and paying $150 for simple caulking if the price was previously told to us and set in stone but we felt like we were being taken advantage of as NOTHING was discussed first and received such hostile customer service. read more

Very disappointed. the quoted me $8k, but when I went to hire them, it shot up to $20. Hiring them was a huge mistake! I spent $10,000 on renovation to Zeolla. Everything I had them do, I had to have them redo 2 & 3 times. The workers were upset I pulled permit because they had to work harder. They upgraded my heating system & caused a hole in my roof, causing water to come into my closet and damage all of my winter sweaters, it took me $500 to replace them, which came out of my pocket. They forgot to put in a thermostat so even though I had the heating upgraded, I had no way to turn it on. The end of the sumner I paid them to set up a kickspace heater in the kitchen, which they took my money to do, but it's not working. When I reached out to them, they said it wasn't hooked up & it wasn't their place to tell me, but it's their place to take my money. Then the owner went on & on to personally sling degrading insults at me & my little house because it is an older home. read more

We were having a problem with frozen pipes (with the awful cold we had been having). We got the pipes unfrozen, but our water pressure was not good. After trying to adjust the valves, we ended up with no water at all. My husband called Zeolla Plumbing. Instead of coming right out, they offered my husband advice over the phone for free on how to fix the problem. They saved us hundreds when they could have easily profited off of us. In this day and age, it is unusual to find a business so honest and and so willing not to capitalize off of people having issues. Thank you!!! A home inspector reported some repairs that needed to be done before I sold my house. After one plumber failed to show for a scheduled repair, I called Zeolla Plumbing and left a message. Before the end of the day, I received a call back from Doug. His first question was do you have heat which suggested to me that if it was an emergency he was more than willing to come out the same day and take a look at boiler. Since it was not emergency, we scheduled for him to come out the next day. Doug came out just like he promised and took a look at my boiler and thermostat. He assessed and explained the issue identified by the inspector and recommended the appropriate repairs at a reasonable price. He was responsive, fair, and took the time necessary to fix the problem. Doug could not have been better. We talked to him on Wednesday about our heating issues and to ask about his prices. Because he was on the higher end of the minimum cost we told him we would figure out what we were going to do and call him back. Because he was so responsive, honest about pricing, and reassuring that he would take care of our heating issues we decided to hire him. We called him that Saturday morning and he was there within 90 minutes. He was so knowledgeable about our heating system, answered all our annoying first-time-homeowner questions, and fixed our heater in under 20 minutes. He was kind, down-to-earth, and funny.
