I stumbled upon this olive oil store in Westport Village and now I love popping into it whenever I'm in the village. They have the largest selection for flavored oils I've seen in a store. I have also found in the back, they make spice mixes. We've picked out a few and have tried them at home on chicken. It was definitely delicious. It's my now go to place for olive oils and balsamic!

A terrific selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegar, as well as local honey and spices! The employee working was knowledgeable and made the environment so welcoming. We had a great experience.

Who knew there could be so many types of olive oil and balsamic vinegar?!? I mean, I get the whole extra virgin and cold-pressed thing, but if there is a flavor, Zi Olive likely has it in an olive oil or balsamic vinegar. Just envision rows and rows of bottles ready to be tasted and bought, all different flavors. The balsamic vinegars were my favorite. And my favorite of my favorite: the key lime balsamic vinegar. I know, I know -- it sounds a big cuckoo. But it just works. After tasting it in the store, I bought a bottle for my friend for Christmas, and we even tried it on a scoop of vanilla ice cream, as suggested. Again. I know. Weird. But trust me, it was very good. I could also envision it being great on a summer salad with fruit. This shop in Westport Village allows you to taste all of their oils and vinegar before purchasing. And on a recent weekend, we probably tasted more than was healthy. But they were just so good. I also liked the chocolate bourbon, white peach, chocolate and traditional balsamic vinegars. My boyfriend liked the chili and habanero olive oils. (Those were a bit spicy for my taste, but I'm a wimp.) There was also a bacon olive oil. I love bacon, but it really wasn't my thing. If you have a bacon-lover who enjoys bacon-themed gifts, though, this could definitely do the trick. And the savory olive oils would definitely be good with bread. These bottles are a bit pricey at around $20 each, but at 375ml, they are big enough to last a bit. This shop also has a Yelp check-in offer for 15 percent off any olive oil or balsamic vinegar. Go to shop or go to taste -- you'll get a kick out of trying something new.

We purchased "Italian herb olive oil" & "traditional style balsamic"

I first found out about this establishment while visiting the St. Matthews Farmer's Market in the…read moresummer of 2023...and did not even realize I had not yet written a review for them...tsk tsk. ***Note: Effective September 2025, they are now located at: 2237 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40205 (very near to the Douglass Loop area). I am a regular customer of this business and love every single product I have purchased here! No exaggerations at all, seriously! Sally is always so helpful and kind, as well as the owners too. I love supporting small local businesses. My regular purchases include: * Garlic Infused Olive Oil (I cannot have garlic, and this is allowable on my food plan...plus it's delicious and makes everything tastes so much better than plain olive oil, in my opinion anyway). * Denissimo Balsamic Vinegar (this is a super rich, decadent and aged vinegar, and so worth the cost as it's a premium product). *Honey Ginger White Balsamic Vinegar (I love Ginger and Honey and this flavor is true to a perfect combination on the two). *Lemongrass-Mint White Balsamic Vinegar (if you like Lemongrass you will love this too!) *Montgomery Cherry Rosé Balsamic Vinegar (this is another of my favorites, it's sweet and tart and lovely!). *Sicilian Lemon White Balsamic Vinegar (I absolutely love love love lemons and this is another favorite). *Lemon Stuffed Manzanilla Olives from Spain (TO DIE FOR!!!!) *Orange Stuffed Manzanilla Olives from Spain (equally delicious and the lemon stuffed olives, they are sweeter and I enjoy them regularly, but I do favor the lemon ones more). *Tarragon White Balsamic Vinegar (if you like Tarragon then this is for you, it cod very strong and not much is needed to add this savory flavor to any dish it might complement). I think one of my favorite things about visiting this establishment is that they are always so friendly, you can sample any oil or vinegar you'd like, and they provide suggestions to cater towards your palate. The ambiance in the store on Brownsboro Rd was haute cuisine, and once they get the new location on Bardstown Rd completely set up, I am confident it will be the same also. If you love to cook and require quality ingredients, go visit them, you will not be disappointed!

This spot is amazing for people that love to cook or experiment with a bit of flavor. One side is…read morefull of balsamic and the other side is vinegars. The store offers tiny cups so that you may sample each one and it feels safe and sanitary to do it. I love the signs on each flavor which shares a description and offers a suggestion on how to use it. Choose from small, medium or large bottles, or a gift set. A few other food options are available, including honey, olives, pasta, sauces and hot sauce. Gift cards available and corporate gift options.

Although the prices are a bit spendy, the quality is far superior to national chain stores. Indoors is a cornucopia of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and prepared cuisines (both hot and cold dinner/lunches). They match and are comparable in price to the larger chain grocery stores and far more fresh and appealing. My wife and I opted for prepared salads I chose the Asian one and it was great. The dressing in particular was to die for.The store is exceptionally clean but rather small and difficult to navigate in such tight quarters. Rumor has it they plan to expand the facility. Parking can also be a beast so it is best to find a spot in the adjacent strip mall near the UPS store. It is so worth it though.

There are 4 Paul's Markets in Louisville, and I am fortunate to live very close to the Middletown location, which opened in 1996. Every summer the outdoor area is chock full of beautiful flowering plants, both annual and perennial varieties. The plants today were lush, healthy, and absolutely stunning. They were priced in line with the local nursery that we most frequent, which is a bit higher than the big box stores. However, as with most things, you get what you pay for. The grocery has a wonderful deli that includes a hot bar and a wide variety of prepared sandwiches, pastas dishes, salads, and deserts. The salad selection was extensive. I opted for a cobb salad that included chicken, bacon, egg, tomatoes, lettuce, blue cheese crumbles and dressing! It was a steal for only $6.99 and absolutely delicious. I chose the honey mustard dressing and it was a chef's kiss! Throughout the grocery area one will find a lot of specialty items such as several types of gluten-free breads, seasonal fruits, regional candies, and much, much more. Paul's is a great place to grab a lunch that is far healthier than the plethora of fast-food options for just a couple more dollars!
