They truly have every flavor profile from sweet to savory that you can think of. Paper cups are available to test the flavors before you commit. Another popular item is honey - several flavors and opportunities to try them. You'll also find some dipping seasonings (for bread), other sauces, and condiments. We opted for the traditional white vinaigrette to pair with an olive oil. Really looking forward to enjoying it on salads or bread. The employee was key in assisting us on finding bottles we would prefer. Small store that packs in a lot of items. Great spot for presents or items to bring to someone hosting a gathering. Tired of adulterated grocery store olive oil? If so, its time to head to Zi Olive in the Westport Village shopping mall. I was blown away at the variety of balsamic vinegar and olive oils that are available at Zi Olive. I was told they have over 50 varieties of infused olive oil! Self-serve tasting is available for all of the balsamic vinegars and olive oils. The staff were super friendly and helpful, suggesting some interesting flavor combinations. We purchased the extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) with 2 infused oils (blood orange and black cherry) to mix with it for TASTY salad dressings. We also purchased the habanero olive oil which we have really enjoyed when cooking meats. There will be a never-ending combo of oil and vinegar combinations on our salads, breads, and meats. We purchased their EVOO along with two favorites; blood orange olive oil and black cherry balsamic vinegar. For an extra kick, we purchased the habanero olive oil that has quite a 'kick' on the back side. Located in the shops of Westport Village off Herr Lane in East Louisville, this place is a must stop for your olive oil and balsamic vinegar supplies. I've walked by Zi Olive multiple times and always thought "hmm, looks interesting" but never walked in....Lately I've been cooking a lot more than I have in the past. After doing some research I was shocked to find that the average grocery store EVOO is not truly olive oil, it's mostly grape seed oil with about 2% OO. I was shocked. Where to find good EVOO from a source we could trust?! My husband suggested we go to (insert box store) and said "I wish we could taste it first" and the moment he said that my brain thought of Zi's! I called to verify they were open, they were, and the kind gentleman running the store offered to stay late if I needed him to! We walked into Zi's and were blown away by the wide selection of both oils and balsamic vinaigrettes. There was every flavor you could dream of, and they offer tasting cups so you can find exactly what you're looking for. They offer Large(25.4oz) and small(12.7oz) and tiny (1.5oz) and gift boxes with flavors that will pair well with one another. The gentleman running the store was so kind and knowledgeable, it felt so wonderful to get such care and attention. Fantastic customer service, amazing selection and delicious products. Who knew there could be so many types of olive oil and balsamic vinegar?!? I mean, I get the whole extra virgin and cold-pressed thing, but if there is a flavor, Zi Olive likely has it in an olive oil or balsamic vinegar. Just envision rows and rows of bottles ready to be tasted and bought, all different flavors. The balsamic vinegars were my favorite. And my favorite of my favorite: the key lime balsamic vinegar. I know, I know -- it sounds a big cuckoo. But it just works. After tasting it in the store, I bought a bottle for my friend for Christmas, and we even tried it on a scoop of vanilla ice cream, as suggested. Again. I know. Weird. But trust me, it was very good. I could also envision it being great on a summer salad with fruit. This shop in Westport Village allows you to taste all of their oils and vinegar before purchasing. And on a recent weekend, we probably tasted more than was healthy. But they were just so good. I also liked the chocolate bourbon, white peach, chocolate and traditional balsamic vinegars. My boyfriend liked the chili and habanero olive oils. (Those were a bit spicy for my taste, but I'm a wimp.) There was also a bacon olive oil. I love bacon, but it really wasn't my thing. If you have a bacon-lover who enjoys bacon-themed gifts, though, this could definitely do the trick. And the savory olive oils would definitely be good with bread. These bottles are a bit pricey at around $20 each, but at 375ml, they are big enough to last a bit. This shop also has a Yelp check-in offer for 15 percent off any olive oil or balsamic vinegar. I had no idea there were so many flavors of olive oil and Basalmic vinegar. At Zi Olive they have 50 different versions. You can taste test any of them. We came away with just two but I'm sure we will be back. The hickory smoked Basalmic is so good on everything I have tried it on. The bacon flavored olive oil was equally as good. "Vinegar tasting? Really?" When my friends suggested a trip to Westport Village for our ladies day out, that was my reaction. I'm not much of a vinegar and oil kind of salad lover so the idea of getting excited over vinegars or their differences didn't impress me much. But my first foray to Zi Olive to taste vinegars? Yes. Really. The shop is small but packed with every conceivable kind of flavor. The shop attendant (I wish I'd gotten her name) was knowledgable, helpful and attentive. With my two friends, I moved from one to the next, sampling everything from a tart key lime to a throat choking, yet oddly delicious jalapeño, a smooth watermelon to black walnut. Pure heaven. I ultimately chose a bottle of white peach, a bottle of walberry (black walnut/berry) and a small sample bottle of black walnut. Last night I made a salad with vinegar marinated Pacific salmon and sprinkled on the white peach. I wound up loading my salad with it and was pleasantly surprised that the taste was so mild and fruity, with a slight oiliness, that olive oil wasn't needed and would have most likely spoiled the peachy essence. Zi Olive also has an array of olive oils and pastas I'm looking forward to trying because, yes. Really. I will be back. read more

Very friendly, very clean store. I'm giving this place so many stars because: (1) it's great that we have a specialty store like this in town; (2) you can taste the olive oils or balsamics before you buy; (3) decent selection. I'm just now getting into the subtleties of olive oils and balsamics, so I'll admit that I don't know much other than what I can taste, but I'm quite pleased with my purchases. So for my first foray into this little bit of indulgence, I walked out of the store with a bottle of black truffle garlic infused olive oil ($29.99) and their traditional balsamic ($19.99). For those in town looking for a good truffle oil: I'm not sure how pure or how diluted the truffle oil is, but for me it works well so far on my pasta and drizzeld on my insalata caprese salad (mozzarella tomato basil). I think I will be a return customer soon! The only downside so far: I wish that they offered smaller bottles for purchase, or perhaps gift bottles and/or a discount if you purchase a certain number. read more
