Lots of great fresh products from produce to meats to prepped meals. They also have a variety of garden goods from potted flowers to empty pots. I grabbed a couple of seltzer drinks that I cannot find anywhere else, some prepped meals for lunch this week, & some fresh fruits. I love Paul's and frequently shop at all of their locations. Recently I priced an item I wanted at the Holiday Manor store and decided not to buy it. A few days later I saw the same item at the Middletown location and it was MUCH less, as in 40% less. Doesn't seem right. Is this pricing based on demographics? read more

Last week I needed help getting 5 hot bar meals. I needed to order and pay for these so my son could pick them up and deliver. It was around noon. I called, and ask if anyone could help me because I didn't even know what was available and it was going to take some time to get my order together. Greg (store manager) said I can help you with that and he read off every meat/starch/veg they had and ask me what I wanted with each meal. He read the order back, let me pay him right there and said they would be waiting, Greg was so nice!!! He wanted to be sure I got everything I needed, even read me the desserts. It is so rare today to find someone willing to go out of their wayto help. I can't say enough good things about Greg and can't thank him enough . Our friends rave about Paula. It's more of a gourmet grocer with high end meats & cheeses. But as price goes, it's right up there with Whole Foods. $5+ for beef or chicken broth that you can find for $1.50 at your grocery. $2 for a bell pepper that's 79¢. And so on. But, for hard to find items, Paul is a fun adventure. Just don't think of it as a store to by canned goods or crackers. Shop for quality beef, duck, venison & lamb and you'll be pleased with their offerings. And in Spring & Summer I'm told they've got beautiful plants. read more

I have been a fan of Paul's Fruit Market since I stopped in a few years back. I find the whole experience of a small grocery that stocks the freshest of everything I need and local products delightful. Since the COVID-19 outbreak I find myself visiting Paul's even more often. There are less crowds and customer service is friendly and relaxed. I have confidence in the quality and supply chain of the food I'm bringing home to my family, and I've never seen them low on staple products for my family like eggs or meat. There's something to be said about supporting a local economy not just at the grocer but also the farmers and suppliers who sell at that grocer. Same beautiful fruits piled high, same fresh squeezed orange juice, same plants and planters outside ready to brighten up your home. My family goes to Pauls's at least once a week... The produce they carry is hands above what the chain store carries. Don't forget about the multiple dips in the back, my favorite is the Salomon dip or the food counter. I can not recommend the caesar wrap enough. Fish and meat are also of good quality. read more

I get all my fruits and vegetables at Paul's . They get all different kinds of oranges throughout the year and they are delicious. Their chicken breast are also the best. So fresh and I love to grill them and add to salads. They also have their chicken and tuna salads in different ways such as shredded chicken salad and chicken salad with cranberries. People that work at Paul's offer the friendliest customer service and offer great suggestions. I have a great experience every time I walk in the door. I love any and all of the Paul's Fruit Markets. It can be pricey...depending what you are getting... but most of its worth it. The fruit is always good (the best plums!) and if you need help picking a ripe one, just ask and they hook you up. The only place I can find fruit this good is here and a farmer's market. Many of the locally made desserts are a great splurge...like a mini peanut butter pie or lemon sponge cake. They sell lots of local brands like Kizito cookies and Hubers Orchard apple cider. The oj is made in-house but expensive. The salsa is delish as is the pimento cheese. During lunch hours(maybe later too?), they have sandwiches that are custom made and can be paired with fresh fruit, pretzels, or chips. Opt for the fruit! They also sell plants and an assortment of cutesy houseware items. A great store to take your time walking through and try some new things. read more

I love Paul's Fruit Market. Always have. Always will. Paul's has been around since I was a little girl. They always have tasty produce. Year round. They also have a deli and a mean black bean burrito! A friend of mine told me to pick up the toaster cornbread - said it was fantastic but I totally forgot! Dang it. Just a reason to go back. They have lots of specialty items like pepper jelly and local goodies like Screamin' Mimi's sweet hot salsa. If you havent tried that yet, please do. Yes it is more expensive than the grocery store shelf brands but you will see it is worth it. Good selection of produce year round and good selection of local specialties in every area (including frozen food) should keep you coming back. And great place to run for a quick snack as well. Paul's produce is the obvious choice in the Louisville area. Great quality food and staff! I love going to Paul's in the summer to enjoy a fresh smoothie from the deli counter while I shop. I don't go to Paul's often, but that's only because I don't live in Louisville. I've moved on and live in Lexington now, but I'll always have fond memories from childhood of Paul's. My grandpa buying fruit gems or real fruit popsicles (depending on the season) as a snack. My dad getting sandwiches from their deli to surprise me with my first taste of horseradish. Seeing friends from church work there and stopping by to say hello and pick up a few things. Paul's has definitely come a long way over the years. My stop by today was just to pick up some cider from Huber's Orchard (nothing in Lexington comes close). Same friendly service, same mixture of local fresh fruits and veggies along with all the gourmet goodies. Even managed to grab a few fruit gems as I left out the door. read more

I had one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever eaten from here on Friday. I have ordered many lunch sandwiches from here, but, never a breakfast sandwich. I ordered an everything bagel with egg, bacon and cheese. I am pretty picky about my food, but, I am very particular when it comes to the way my eggs are prepared. I asked the super friendly man that was preparing my sandwich to please make the eggs over easy, even specifically saying that I like a runny yolk, but, all of the egg white to be cooked. He asked me if I wanted it cut in half, which is their usual way of serving their sandwiches and I told him that I would cut it when I got home because I didn't want a mess of yolk saturated into my bagel. I chose sharp cheddar as the cheese and it was the perfect combo with the warm, soft bagel, perfectly cooked crispy bacon and egg. I couldn't wait to get home to try it! The creamy, perfectly prepared egg yolk created a wonderful sauce for the sandwich. I was so impressed that I called to tell the manager how much I enjoyed it. I found out that the man who prepared this epic breakfast sandwich's name is Eliseo. He is a great asset to the Paul's staff, along with all of the other employees that are always welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. read more

Their produce is always fresh, their healthy snack selection is on point and they even have ready made dinners that are amazing actually...(try the meatloaf and I don't even like meatloaf ). They make wonderful fruit baskets for gifts as well. But my favorite reason to shop here is their flowers and plants...they are always beautiful and very reasonably priced! Stopped by here after reading all the great reviews on Yelp while trying to find a good small grocery store. It is a nice, clean little store with a wonderful deli, everyone was friendly and helpful with plenty of parking. I did feel that the prices were pretty high on just about anything they had. I'll try again in the Summer to check out their produce and plants. I like to shop local, but I don't like paying 2-3 times more than at another store for the same item. I realize that they can't compete price-wise with the larger chain stores, and when shopping at the small local stores you will pay more, I just feel the grocery staples were overpriced a lot. read more

There is also a wide selection of sandwiches, wraps, made to order served with your choice of one side. It's perfectly packaged to go, to eat now or carry to work for later. The staff are always friendly and eager to oblige any special request. They have recently added their own meat department for some of the freshest beef and chicken in town. It costs a little more than your grocery chains but the quality is definitely worth it. I began by splurging on a good burger or steak and saved the lesser quality beef for meatloaf, spaghetti, or chili. But the texture is so much better now I use it for all my recipes. read more
