I've been bringing my cars here for a few years and it's always been fine, but I'm extremely disappointed in my latest visit. I brought my car in for it's annual rust proofing. I also asked them if they could do anything about a stain on the spoiler and a door ding. When I picked up the car, I noticed a blister in the wrap on the spoiler. I mentioned it and the guy said he would re-wrap it. Which I assumed meant they would do it at no extra charge. When I brought the car back for the new wrap, the manager said they wouldn't do it for free, but would give me a discount. I agreed because I just wanted it done. Then they tried to talk to me into some add on coverage, which I declined as I've already got ceramic on it. I left the car for them to wrap and they kept it for two days, which I assumed meant they were being thorough because they've always done a great job in the past. When I picked the car up I was extremely disappointed. The new wrap looks awful. If anything, it looks worse than when I started. At this point, I don't even want them to touch the car. About 12 years ago I went to Ziebart to have a remote start installed. It was great. After I had to junk my car, I had them to uninstall it. I saved all the parts for my next car. I finally purchased another car, I made an appointment to have my remote start installed. I know the process can take long, but unfortunately I had to wait. After 6 hours, it was installed. When I got home, my son asked if I had tried it to make sure it worked. Assuming it did, I said "No". Guess what, it didn't work! I tried several times but it didn't start my car! Wow! We brought our car to the Lyell Ave location for its annual winterizing touch-up, and when we picked it up, there was a large blister in the paint. The manager at the time admitted it shouldn't have happened and told us to bring it back in a few days so they could fix it free of charge. When we returned, a different manager initially refused to do anything to fix their mistake. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the paint before they worked on it. After pushing back, they finally agreed to "fix" it at a discount, but instead of repairing the damage properly, they just put a wrap over the blister, leaving a huge divot in the finish. We've invested thousands of dollars in ceramic coatings and protective treatments, so this was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. read more

I picked up my truck today after it's first annual checkover. Ive always had excellent service with my other vehicles and today was shocked at the job that was done. It looked like they undercoated over mud. Usually the whole undercarriage is flushed to see the rust that needs attending. Not today. Even looking in the wheelwell I could see a shoddy job. Went to Ziebart the first time with my brand new Cadillac for window tint. They installed and said give it a week for the bubbles to disappear. A week later and all the windows were littered with bubbles. Made an appointment to have them all redone. They redid the windows. Side windows are without bubbles but the rear is still littered with them. I've sat a total of 8 hours on the initial and redo process. Not sitting in through another session with them. Then after my car was done they must of sprayed the plastic on the back trunk lid causing it to leave glue residue everywhere. They fought me on who put it there saying I did it when the car just came from delta sonic and was freshly cleaned. They did remove the glue. Then constantly tried selling ceramic coating after about six times of shooting them down. What a sad establishment and poor workmanship. So the update today 11/7/2023 goes like this. Last week I called the corporate number and talked to customer service. They had the store contact me after I called the store and left a message earlier in the week. Magically my message at the store was never received. After I explained to customer that I wasted 3 days and over 11 hours to get the windows on the whole car redone twice. Back window 3x. Still have bubbles but I was done and over waiting for things to get redone. After my last visit my rear window defroster wasn't working properly so I ended up getting them to check that over. I was refunded the full amount after I refused to wait more to get the windows redone. They did get the rear window defroster to work again also. I still have some bubbles but I'll deal with that a later time. They acted like all I wanted was a refund and it was far from it. I just wanted quality work. The money wasn't the issue. I'll give them credit for the refund but it was forced due to me calling above and making a deal about things not getting done properly. We're buying another vehicle and will shop around for another shop. I'll raise the star rating to a 2 for the refund aspect. read more

Both were done with ceramic coating and the front clip fenders Hood all that were wrapped the r Wrap job they did was absolutely horrible it's peeling off I've had my truck back at least four times for repairs in my wife's car what a mess the front clip of a Nissan rogue if you're familiar is just peeling away and last year because of the covid-19 able to get it in there and last year at November one of the people there were going to come and get the car and take it but then they couldn't find anybody to do it the place is just a wreck they need some help over there people that know what they're doing. Scammers!!! Sub quality work!!! 1 sales agent told me that I had a warranty for "Spot Cleaning". I brought my car in for tint and spot cleaning the next day, a different agent tells me she can't find the warranty for the "Spot Cleaning" but that she will continue to investigate due to the warranty package was bought from the dealership were the car was originally purchased from. She said she would call me if she ran into any issues. I returned to pickup my car and she said "I'm so sorry I meant to call you and tell you that I couldn't locate the warranty". Now I have a $160 bill for "Deep Cleaning" of the car. If she would have called me to tell me that there is no covers warranty for the "Spot Cleaning" I thought I was going to receive, then I would have told her don't clean it! I have taken many cars there (roughly 7) but I will have to say the last few visits have been sub-par experience and terrible follow up after letting them know of my concerns. My previous car BMW Alpina B7 was taken in for the works. Ceramic coat, sound deadening , rust protection and tint. The car was picked up a couple days later with trash in the back from rolled up tint, shaving and balled up trash. There was some sort of gunk on the front windshield that they told me to bring the car back and they would clean it!!! Um why in the hell is it in this condition to begin with. I smoothed things over with the Gm at the time (Eric) and decided to bring my 2016 BMW m3, this time when I pick the car up I didn't see any major issues until I got it home and actually inspected inside. No one went over the car with me at the store only gave me my keys and cashed me out. So first off there was chunky black rock type substance through the floor of the car, a huge purple putty like gunk stuck in rear trunk and when I started the car up right after parking it from bring it home the car revved really high and disabled the pedal. I took the car to BMW and was told throttle sensor was shorted out and they directly asked me who did the detail on the car? I told them ziebart and they stated more than likely the over spray shorted sensor out and that disabled my accelerator pedal. So 560.00 dollars later I had to have my car serviced and sensors replaced. I contacted my sakes rep regarding all this and he said he was in his pool at home and would contact me with the manage when he returned to work..... never heard a word back from either of them!!!!! I took my truck here for a liner, cover and running boards. Was told everything was all set to installed. I arrived and the wrong parts were ordered for the running boards, they left foot prints all over the bed with the new Rhino Liner, the cover can't be installed right because water pours into the bead and they did a half job on the doll up and it had to be redone. Very disappointed and there is always an excuse as to why things are not right. They have no problem selling you big ticket items but following through on performance is lacking. read more

Zero Stars Dear Ziebart, People bring their BRAND NEW vehicles to you, it's insulting that you would return a vehicle damaged and filthy. The experience I had at this location was terrible. Everything from the drop off, to the pick up, and the MESS of a job they did with the vehicle. Here's my experience: Drop off right at 8:00: Front door says go to side door. Side door is locked. We wait. Nothing. At this point there's 5 customers here waiting at the side door as directed. Then we call to ask why we can't get in to drop off the vehicle, and they tell us to go to the front door. We go to the front door, now this group of customers is BEHIND 4 other customers, who went into the front door. Get your damn signage right! It took 42 minutes to drop off the vehicle. I was told the vehicle would be completed around 4:30. I arrived at 5:40, and was told it was not done yet. There was no phone call to let me know, they simply told me it would be "30 more minutes, but don't worry we will stay open just for you." So you're telling me it's a whole hour and a half after the pick up time, and it's not done. With no communication about this? An employee walks out at 6pm, hands me the keys and says you're all set. He runs back into the building. No walk around, no discussing the vehicle (I would expect that with good customer services, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised here)... They left the vehicle FILTHY! Absolutely filthy inside and out. - There are chips in the paint. This is a brand new vehicle - you chipped my paint! The guy went inside and brought out "white" paint to do a quick touch up. Very obviously, this is not a color match paint! Do not touch! - Plastic coverings were left inside the vehicle. I'm not talking about mechanic floor mats, but the plastic coverings. Trash, just left inside the vehicle. Which flew out of the windows when driving down the highway, thanks for the heads up. - They said they didn't take the tailgate off, however the back up camera was not plugged in, just left the wires hanging. - The undercoating has large runs the coating, inside the wheel well and very visible. - The undercoating overspray was all over the truck paint, over the fender of the vehicle. - Overspray on the back window. - Overspray on the rims. - Overspray on the roof. The roof! - The rhino lining was missing a whole spot, where you could clearly see the white truck paint. - The didn't rhino line under the tailgate which they stated would be done - just oversprayed. - They damaged the tailgate hardware - The windows and side mirrors were just filthy inside and out, like they just smeared grease on the windows and mirrors, making the side mirrors useless. - Chrome around the truck, also smeared in grease and crud. - Didn't communicate they were spraying protectant on the interior seats - I would have taken the car seat out!! - Also on the inside, there's grease marks on my brand new console cover. - The seal protection turns out piss yellow. The sealant was clogging the weep holes. When noting it to the workers, they assured me that this was normal - - This is absolutely not normal! This would cause major damage and rusting - I have a brand new truck and issues is what I'm trying to avoid. In calling the store the next day, the operations manager ensured that they will fix the problems, so we returned to have everything fixed and cleaned up. Still, the truck was returned with overspray on it. It was greasy. It needed to be cleaned in the parking lot for a SECOND time, while I stood there and directed the worker. A customer should never have to stand over you, and tell you how to do your job in your own parking lot. Remember, you are re-doing a job to fix the mess you left the first time. There was no improvement with visit #2. To give a customer the keys without cleaning up the truck, is beyond infuriating and is downright disrespectful. A customer should never see the mess you create while completing your job, and a vehicle should ALWAYS be returned in the same condition as arrived. Not only did the manager there, Brenden, have his detail staff fix the issue, but he also personally walked me out to my vehicle to make sure I was completely happy, but then he gave me a free complete detail for the future, which is actually worth double the detail I had paid for. I have been bringing my '96 Ford F150 and '02 Honda Accord to Ziebart for two decades! Neither vehicle would be on the road any longer without Ziebart, First Choice Collision, and Howard Road Garage. I had both vehicles reinspected for rust at Ziebart in November. Elyana scheduled my appointments over two consecutive days. I was genuinely struck by how professional and pleasant she is! Ditto for Sue, Hailey, and Marcus! They arranged for me to drop off my Accord when picking up my F150 so as to save me an extra trip the next morning. One of the managers, Marcus, met with me on two occasions during the process to discuss services that I had used at Ziebart and to see how this year's appointments were going and if there was anything else I needed. We discussed tonneau cover options for a new truck I have ordered that Ziebart will be protecting and providing accessories for. Upon completion, I checked the work on both vehicles, as I always do, and it was very well done, as it always is. I was really impressed with how carefully the underside of my truck had been entirely resprayed. The services to both vehicles were done completely free of charge per the original offer of free annual inspections and resprays if and where needed. My decades old yet very nice looking and operating vehicles are testament to the fact that Ziebart does work. I was surprised to see some negative reviews here on Yelp; although, I know that often times it's the bad news that gets posted. My suggestion, if I may, for anyone that may encounter what they perceive to be a problem while at Ziebart is to give the staff a chance to address that concern. It seems to me from years of working with Ziebart that they are more than happy to address and solve your concerns, should any arise. Brought my truck there for annual touch up for the undercoating. They had the truck for 5 hours and all they "touched up" was what you could see from the wheel wells. I got under the truck when i got home and found 5-7 decent spots that were peeled away and rusting that were not addressed at the annual check. Not sure what they did with the truck for 5 hours other than inconvenience me. I wouldn't recommend going to this place ever again. read more

My father came here for a mandatory photo inspection for his insurance and came back with more than I expected. He went at his appointed time but doesn't speak English well so he called and asked me to speak with the agent conducting the inspection. I forgot his name but he seemed nice enough but clearly wanted to make sale. At one point during our conversation he asked me what kind of car I drove and told him I don't have one. I just use Zipcar. He highly recommended we get the rust protection because Rochester salts its road heavily and will corrode the car. It's normally $2200 but if we act now, we can get a discount of $400. I told him we just want the inspection for now but will consider it if he provides the literature. Before ending the call, he reiterated how much he recommends getting the protection. About 30 minutes later, I noticed someone had run a check on my father's credit report. I thought it was odd but didn't think much of it at the time. Two days later, my father finally sends me photos of the literature he received and one of them was a completed credit card application. I was LIVID for two reasons. (1) My father should know better than to provide personal information such as SSN and date of birth. I don't understand his logic but he thought Ziebart needed it for the rust protection which he wasn't purchasing. (2) Ziebart took advantage of an elderly man who clearly doesn't speak English well. If he did, he wouldn't have asked his daughter to speak on his behalf. After speaking with my father, I spoke with the manager, who informed me that they have been in business for 60 years and that the agent explained clearly this was a credit card application. The manager was not there to witness their interaction when my father was there but told me that it was clearly explained to him that this was a credit card application. I told him I don't understand why a credit card would be offered to someone who doesn't speak English well. I only asked for the literature on the rust protection to be handed to him. They cannot be trusted and would never go back nor recommend anyone to come here. Out of curiosity, I asked the dealer where we purchased the car from how much the same service would cost there. He told me $599 which is about a third of the price! They only want your money. Beware. read more

They installed my car starter in wrong my engine is now gone I took my car to three different mechanics and they all said the same thing "your car starter is in wrong" like how I'm so pissed because I only had my kia for four months and when I bought it the engine was great low mileage for the year. I have been a customer of Ziebart for 42 years having come back with a number of new vehicles over the years. When buying my new 2021 F150, the dealership offered "their" rustproofing that they said was as good as Ziebart. We decided not to have the dealership do it, having had a history with Ziebart, we preferred to have them to it. At the drop off at Ziebart, I asked about adding paint protectant to the front and back of the truck. After getting a quote, I initially decided not to, but later agreed after getting a quote for a lower price. When I picked up the truck that afternoon, there were a number of water and air bubbles underneath the film and white spots in the film. I was told by Tara, the customer service rep, that was normal and they would disappear as the film dried. After waiting a week, the spots did not disappear - some of these spots had dirt under the film and the film started to lift in places on the bumper. I was also unhappy with how the film was not wrapped under the edge of the hood leaving an area exposed to chipping. I made an appointment to have it redone and was asked if I could leave it overnight so they could inspect it the next day before returning it to me. They replaced the film and made a big deal about going over the truck with me. The hood was now wrapped inner over the front edge, but were still areas with water under the film and white spots. On the rear bumper the film was already starting to lift - the tech worked that area and the film appeared to lay down flat. Again, I was told to wait a few days for the film to dry for the water spots to disappear. After a week, some of the spots on the hood were still there and the rear bumper lifted again. The truck was returned to have the front and real bumpers redone. I was told by a different customer service rep, Tim, that "I should live with the dirt under the film on the hood as they do not have a clean room and that was the best they could do". After again leaving the truck overnight, I returned the next afternoon to pick it up only to see the front bumper was already lifting. Tara took it back for a quick repair by the tech to get that spot to lay down. A week later, the bumper was lifting again, and I contacted Tara and was told to return to have it repaired. I was told that they had contacted a tech from one of their other stores to assist in the repair. Later that day, when I returned to pick up my truck, Tim walked me to my truck to show me the repair - he pointed out how instead of replacing the front bumper, they cut the film and added a piece to the side of the bumper leaving a seam in the middle of the bumper. Tim told me that the seam was practically invisible and nobody would see it. Apparently, I must be a "nobody" as I saw it immediately! I expressed to Tim that this looked like crap and was unacceptable, Tim did not offer to correct the issue and argued that he only walked me to my truck implying that it was not his issue. I asked to speak to the manager, but was told he was not there - then asked Tim to have the manager call me the next day. After applying the film to my truck 5 times, it is apparent that Ziebart doesn't have the skills to properly apply paint protectant film, and I have totally wasted my money and time. They have cut through the paint in places damaging what the paint protectant was put in place to protect. As I am writing this, I am waiting for a call from the store manager and wondering if or how they can correct this issue. Even the undercoating was less than satisfactory - there was overspray over the wheels and the chrome exhaust tip - there are also stones in the undercoating in the wheel wells from driving the truck across their stone parking lot while the undercoating was still wet that are now permanently stuck to the truck. I have waited over a week to post the review hoping that I would get a call from the Ziebart store manager. Apparently,either the manager does not care or Tim never gave him my message. Needless to say - I will not be returning to Ziebart again for any of their services. They have now lost a long-time customer who has spent thousands of dollars on their products over the years. read more

I had tint applied to my rear and back side windows there were spots in the rear window which I returned twice for them to fix the problem the second time they told me to let it sit for few weeks and the problem still wasn't resolved and now they are refusing to fix it saying I waited to long to return. They also showed me a chart of legal color tints that would pass inspection which I chose one that was legal according to them. It's been two months since my service and when I went to get a inspection I was told all tints are illegal. I gave them a call regarding what I was told and now they said yeah all tiny is illegal. I went into to Ziebart on August 13, 2020 to see about getting all my windows tinted, they had to schedule me for August 18, 2020 at 8:00 am. I arrived with my girlfriend to Ziebart on Brice Road at 7:55 am on 8-18-20 only to find out that the gentleman who was supposed to block off that time for my window tint did not actually put me on the books. I was told to go ahead and leave my car and they would work me in, my girlfriend asked how long it would take and she was told it would be by end of business that day. They had my car all day and never called me, I ended up calling them at 4:00 pm that day only to find out they had not finished my windows, but to go ahead and come in by 5:00 pm and it would be done. I again arrived with my girlfriend and was told the guy was still working on it, and it should now be done in about 30 minutes. I was ok with this because I wanted my windows done correctly. We ended up waiting over 2 hours for the guy to complete my windows, and it turns out he probably did not even start it until 4:00 pm when I called. One man wanted to leave about 30 minutes into my wait and he asked me to pay before my windows were even done, I proceeded to ask for a discount since it was their fault I was not put on the books, I was told they cannot do that, but when I paid he said he had taken the tax off for the inconvenience. I got a $41.25 discount for having to wait outside in my girlfriends car with the dog, for over two hours in the heat for their error! It has been 4 weeks since my windows were done and I have a smudge on my drivers side windshield that is right in my line of sight, and there are a couple of bubbles that have not dissipated. I now have to go back in so they can see it and probably have to leave my car again. They should have just told me they could not get to my car that day, and to come pick it up and reschedule to have the windows to be done at a later date when it can be done correctly. I have never been so disappointed in the way this whole issue was handled. Took my car here to get it rustproofed and to get some body work done on it. As soon as you step foot in their parking lot, the sales pitch starts. These guys are heavy into high pressure sales! I don't know much about cars, but I could tell that there is a complete disconnect between the sales person and the people who are actually to do the work. The sales person continually assured me that their body shop guys are "best in the industry." (It wasn't until later, when I talked to a few real body shop owners, that I realized that Ziebart is no place for body work). Anyways, the slick sales guy managed to get me to buy their services - for this, I only blame myself. I got my car back 2 days later with black tar oversray on all of the doors and bumper. It did not look like any thing not to be sprayed was masked off - they just went at it. With some haggling, I got them to clean it off - a 2 hour wait in the reception area! Then, I looked at the body work when I got home. The paint job looked really terrible and wasn't smooth at all. You could definitely tell (even with my car naivete) where the spot was that was fixed. I asked them for a discount and they refused to give me anything back. Their excuse? - although the job does not look top notch, we still did all the labor and that's what you paid for! All in all - a terrible experience that started with very high pressure sales tactics (like leaving me outside and going in to "ask" the supervisor if I can get a deal - c'mon guys, this is the oldest one in the sales book) and ended with a service that was poorly executed (oversray and improperly repaired bodywork!) read more

I had my Honda coated by salesman Marcus at the Lyell ave, Rochester store. . He did a great job. In and out quick.

Good products, not the best service. Waited for an hour to pick up my floor mats AFTER the employee took my name, asked me why I was there, and who my salesperson was. I heard the other employee behind the counter on the phone, saying that they were about to go into a meeting for 20 to 40 minutes. I hoped that they could pop my floor mats in first, since it takes literally less than 5 minutes. No such luck. Meanwhile, the employee who I had spoken with left. She apparently didn't let anyone know that I was waiting. Other employees walked past me, but no one asked if I needed help till I hit the 1 hour mark. read more

Again I went to Ziebart on Lyell Ave. for my annual undercoating, rust proofing and detailing services on 8-17-2017. I went again because I have previous paid for "deal" service packages at the bank of Ziebart. Well guess what, in this visit I was stupid enough again to be suckered into a "deal" on door wrap protectant. The "deal" was I would not loose one of my previously paid for premium detail packages if I purchased the door wrap protectant. I reluctantly agreed. Therefore I still have a bank at Ziebart. However, in my bank at Ziebart I have engine compartment detailing. In this latest visit, engine compartment detailing was not performed. Oh Hell, in my assessment the engine hood on my car was never lifted. I guess that service is in the bank of perpetual purchases at Ziebart, surely to be used for the next "deal". In short, I do like the products Ziebart offers, however I do not like the shifty "up sell/deal" sales tactics creating further purchases, (I do have future mechanical expenses to consider). Although my car had the door protectant film applied, and was cleaned and detailed (poorly), at this time I wonder if my car even received undercoating and rustproofing which is what I was simply there for to begin with. Nope never again! Spent over $5000 for terrible paint protection film that "yellows" after 1 summer, an interior detailing that left my floors and seats dirtier than when I brought it in and couldn't even get a partial refund, vinyl on the interior that had bubbles in it and started peeling after 1 week (brought it back to fix but the same thing happened again), and vinyl on the exterior that would kept peeling after bringing my car back 4 separate times. Also spent almost $1000 on led lights that stopped working after 2 weeks and no matter how many times I brought it back they couldn't get the lights to work longer than 1 month ‍. I wasn't going to leave this review because the manager said he would get in touch with me in the spring of 2020 to fix everything "again" but we're going to be approaching spring of 2021 and I never heard back from him which leaves me to think that since they got paid, they really didn't care about my satisfaction which actually did me the hugest favor.
