Had a pretty big crease in my door from an unknown incident - my guess a kid or the wind threw open their door into mine. Gerber did the estimate for All-State. They were upfront and honest about everything. No pressure to have the work done there, but I ended up doing it anyway because I felt good about it. They texted regularly with a link that showed where in the process it was and the current costs (insurance's, of course) as they went through the work, which I thought was great. Finished very quickly, and it looks great! It came back cleaner than I left it, which is always nice. I took my Jeep Cherokee to Gerber through Geico after a single car accident where I scraped the rear driver's side door and back panel against a construction barrier and I am so pleased with their service. They were easy to coordinate with through Geico and with Enterprise for a rental car and provided great communication on the repairs, with update phone calls on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Overall the repair took about three weeks, which was very fast, in my opinion. All of the staff that I dealt with were friendly and efficient. Got in an accident, MAC Truck, backend hit my right front and tire. Both tie rods, front and side damage. Dick driver, who had to know he hit me, continued to drive. Brought my car, well towed to Gerber. Vehicle was completed in a timely fashion. Car looked brand new, was a cleaned inside and out! I normally pay Delta once a year to do it, this saved me $100. Left with car, noticed something did not sound right. Brought it right back to Brandon. He apologized and said he will order a "rack" ? ASAP. Because I travel so much, I had to drive the car. Long story short, I lost power steering, the EPAS (electronic power assisted steering system) went. Brought vehicle back. Going in I knew a EPAS system costs ~$1600-$1800 was a tad nervous. Brandon had it fixed ASAP. When I went in, NO ADDITIONAL charges!!! Not sure how these other people are giving horrible reviews, I did NOT have their issues. This is one of those reviews I wish I wasn't able to write, because it means that I needed to have some body repair work on my truck that is less than a month old! That said, they did an absolutely beautiful job on my repair. They gave me an estimate of five days and came in under that. They arranged the rental car for me so that I was able to pick it up and return it right at the shop. Within four work days it was done, and I was contacted with updates by Chris, my adjuster? Or case manager? I'm not sure of his title was but he communicated regularly on the progress. Nu Look was thoughtful about the fact that my truck is new and definitely worked hard to return it looking new. I saw one lingering scratch and they were able to fix it before I left the shop. The receptionist even reminded me to fill up the rental (I had forgotten) and they waited while I took it down the road and refilled. I was very pleased by my experience and found the service and the work to be excellent. Took our van in on a Friday after a 3yr old took a big stick to the front hood and grill. Dropped it off first thing in the morning at the Monroe Ave. shop and received a call promptly when it was done. Staff was very friendly and courteous. What I didn't expect was the care that they put into our vehicle. Not only was the work to the hood and grill performed exceptionally well, but they also washed, waxed and detailed the car as well. The repair itself took less than 48 hours (a replaced rear bumper on my Prius C). Color matching was perfect, and I left looking good as new. They also washed and detailed my car, inside and out! This repair shop kept my car for 4 months the worst collision shop I ever been too. No updates until I begged for them. When I finally got my car back last week the turn signal weren't working. They came back with an excuse it was because my rear light was broken. But they said nothing about that when I picked the car up, did not test anything before the released it to me. Staff was unreliable. Car sat for two month and then they informed me they needed to order a hood. Now I have to take it to the dealership to get it repaired the correct way. I was told to bring my vehicle in for collision repair, approx 4 weeks after the estimate (@23 Nov2921), which was today (27 Dec 2021). They told me that they (Gerber) would contact me prior to my scheduled appointment , which never happened. I call this morning and they confirmed my scheduled drop off. I arranged for a ride and alternate transportation, not only for the drop off or pickup, but during the repair. I get there and they never ordered parts and wanted to reschedule my repair. Lastly they said i can take it to another collision shop. Now the insurance company will need to pay for a rental, and they ( Gerber) will not be repairing my vehicle. I had a horrible experience dealing with the insurance company as the initial agent on my case misfiled the claim and was rude to me (and the Nu-look employee). However, I have to say I am impressed with the (male) manager and front desk employee (Lacy) for their outstanding customer service and going above and beyond. I hit a deer coming back to Rochester from out of state. My 2020 Mazda was only a year old when this happened and my dealer recommended Gerber. I was told the shop in Henrietta couldn't service it so they offered to send it to the shop in Bergen. It took them almost 90 days to fix the front end. They repeatedly told me they were waiting on parts or that the parts were in but needed to be painted. Then they told me they ordered the base model parts when my car is premium trimmed, so they were missing all of the sensors. How do you make that kind of mistake when you order based off of the VIN#? On the final attempt, I was told my car was ready but when I came in, they said they couldn't get the hood open to fill the windshield wiper fluid. The idiots forgot to replace the latch release when replacing the hood and had to saw through the grill to get it open again. That meant more time waiting on parts to come in. I demanded to have my car shipped back to me at that point and have my insurance assist me in getting another collision group involved. When I inspect my car, I realized they used aftermarket parts to replace parts on my engine and exterior but charged my insurance the maximum. I also noticed that they tried to pry into my doors that weren't damaged, to get to my Bose speakers. Don't trust these people. I live in the hood, so I know a crook when I see one. I brought my car in to the Monroe ave location to get a simple scratch fixed on my driver side rear quarter panel. Seemed like an easy fix. However after getting my car back the paint job had pitting and you could see the white bondo through it, there was also a amount of dust from sanding in my car in all the nooks as if they opened my back hatch and sanded with it open. Over all I was disappointed in the work and brought it back in to get fixed. Not I only did they just paint over the pitting instead of fixing it my car was returned to me with damage to the front bumper that did not exist when I first brought the vehicle in, and they are not taking responsibility for the damage. If you are looking for honesty and quality work look someplace else because they did a hack job on my car. read more

I chose this place for the following reasons 1. It was on the list of repair places recommended by my insurance company. 2. My friend had a repair done from them a few years back and was very happy. 3. Some yelpers mentioned that they were pretty decent 4. And, it was really close to work (less that 5 mins) I went for the estimate, and I arrived late ( I don't do mornings) but they were very accommodating and got me on their next available time slot. Their estimate was pretty thorough and they handled all the paper work necessary for the repair and insurance. I got my car when they said it would be avaiable and they provided me with all the information I wanted. The service was polite and patient, I am not a car body expert so I asked a lot of stupid questions. The repair was great, my car looks much better than before the accident. I had a wonderful experience with Nu-Look! My car was hit while parked and had a pretty bad dent in it. I called Nu-Look the next day at the recommendation of the insurance company. As the claimant, I wasn't responsible for any costs. Nu-Look honored this and were completely helpful and professional. They were transparent about the repair process and gave me an estimate of when they would complete the job. They projected seven days but they were done in three! I chose NuLook for a repair to my vehicle because it was recommended by my insurance company and they guaranteed their work for life. Nothing could be further from the truth. Three years after the repair, I have rust on the panel that they repaired. Nowhere else on the vehicle is there any rust, yet they will not repair stating, "it is not caused by their repair." Of the three vehicles I maintain and wash at minimum once a week during the winter to try to prevent this, the only spot of rust on any of them is where NuLook repaired. Their lifetime warranty is all talk. They will not stand behind their work. read more

I visited the Nu-Look Collision at the Webster location on Empire Boulevard two years ago while visiting my parents who live nearby (I live in Brooklyn). I'd driven up to see them, and on my way up I-81, I noticed one of the sidescoops on my 2011 Mustang coming loose and wavering a little at highway speed. They're just pieces of plastic fixed to both sides of the car with two-way adhesive, and purely cosmetic, but I didn't want to wait until getting back to Brooklyn and risk losing the part on a highway somewhere. Nu-Look has a near-impeccable reputation, so after doing some research, I stopped in and inquired about the repair. The manager, whose name I can't recall, was friendly and informative enough, but he was unenthusiastic about completing the job, to say the very least. "It's spring time," he explained, "and we have a backlog of insurance jobs and other touch-ups to take care of from the bad winter driving months." I understood, but reasoned that the job didn't involve any real body work, and could probably be completed by a deft technician in less than a half hour. I'd wait or even come back if he needed - after all, I had 5 days to visit my family. He relented. He brought me back inside to their lobby, and had another employee write up a ticket. When all was said and done, they wanted about $75 to do the job. When I scoffed at what I considered to be a robust swindling, the manager haughtily informed me, in so many words, that the right job required the right price. He even made a joke about the reliability of their work and the durability of their tools, quipping that the "next time that scoop falls off, the car will probably be in a junkyard somewhere." Considering that the factory scoops had remained attached for roughly 6 years, I took solace in his assessment. I paid the money, and left with a handshake, a smile, and my scoop firmly in place - or so I thought. I've just had to have my usual bodyshop reattach the same part (yes, on the same side of the car) after it nearly completely fell off on a roadtrip to Montreal. This time, there were no subtle jerks or slight wiggles from the part - it was waving like the sail of a sinking revolutionary battleship as the wind battered it off the exterior of the car. Hanging only by one 3 inch section of tape, I quickly pulled over on a bustling Canadian interstate to remove the rest of it and, yet again, saved the part from being lost or damaged. I'm disappointed in the quality of the job done by this shop, and frustrated at their readiness to intimate an almost supreme prowess when it came to this simple job. I've had good - even great - experiences with them before, and I'm sure they put more time and effort into the "insurance jobs" they're so handsomely paid for. This job was just too simple to fumble. When all was said and done, the owner of the bodyshop I use in Brooklyn winced when I recounted my experience at Nu-Look to him, and charged me NOTHING for the time spent by one of his technicians to clean, prep, and reattach my scoop (it took him about 20 minutes and was done as I waited). I threw the young tech a twenty, and went on my way. Bottom line: Rochester was worth the drive because my family lives there (and because I love garbage plates) - not because of the shoddy service that Nu-Look provided. read more

Today I went in to Nu-Look to have my bumper adjusted. I'd been rear ended a few months ago, and the bumper was loose. After a few recommendations from fellow yelpers and hearing about Em's great experience, I chose Nu-Look for my overdue autobody repairs. I finally made an appointment to get an estimate for some scratches and dents that needed repairing. Ken did the estimate for me and was speedy and thorough. The claim would be going through my insurance so I made sure they new all the logistics that went along with that and Nu-Look pretty much took care of the rest. They ordered tge parts and called to let me know when to drop off my car. They also made sure to let me know that the repairs would take from Mon-Fri and asked if I'd need a rental, which I did, so they facilitated that as well since they work with a local Hertz dealer. It honestly couldn't have been a better experience. They perfectly managed the whole deal and my car looks like it did when I bought it. Had been there a few times successfully. Decent work. A little pricey but decent work. The last time however will be the last time. They took receipt of the vehicle. Literally gave me a receipt for the vehicle. On this receipt it says that I understand they have the vehicle and can not let the vehicle leave without my consent. They did. After speaking with the insurance company they allowed it to be shipped to another lot not in the Rochester area. Without a phone call. Without the opportunity to collect my personal belongings which I was denied on my original visit. Essentially they allowed my vehicle and my tools to be stolen by a tow truck driver not known or approved by myself. Shipped off down the road without even picking up the phone. I understand that they deal with the insurance companies everyday. More times than not the insurance companies recommendations are followed. But to ignore the vehicle owner, cut me out of the loop and send my property elsewhere is just wrong. Actually according to their paperwork a breach of contract and illegal. I understand that they are very large and successful but somewhere along the way they seem to have forgotten about the customer and basic customer service. My advice find a smaller shop with a good track record. Save some money and be part of the process. In my experience these guys think they work for the insurance companies not the actual vehicle owner. read more
