One of the clerks looked it up for me at Walmart, even gave me the aisle number. All of this was wonderful, but the real reason for the review would be their lovely fabrics. I am the least skilled seamstress that ever existed. I gave up sewing long ago. If someone would have put effort into selling me something, I'd be the fool who'd buy something beautiful to turn it into a three car collision. The most beautiful fabrics.

I totally understand that Covid has forced us a lot of businesses to adjust their hours and the way they run - and the French Seam was no exception. Luckily, I had a day off work recently and was able to get in on a weekday during their limited business hours. Let me just say this - they have some gorgeous fabrics. Quilting cottons are separated from the garment fabrics in the small front area and they have a few notions available. I love being able to look through pre-cuts and they had a good selection of fat quarters organized by color in rolling carts available for purchase. I was also told that there was a 'clearance' area in the back/warehouse type area - so I made a break for it (you had me at clearance!). Back there I was able to score a package of fat quarters for $3 (I was told it was because they were 'old' fabrics - but who cares?) and some other pre-cut yardage at a discount. SCORE! Back in the open 'warehouse' type area also appears to be where machines are located and perhaps where classes would be held (pre/post Covid). Of note, I think I may have thrown off the older, more conservative appearing lady working in the store with my appearance when I walked in, but the younger gal working the counter was very sweet. Overall, I was excited for my new-to-me fabrics to add to my stash and glad I got to check the place out as it is SUPER close to where I live.

The outside is plain and simple. We didn't have high expectations, but once we entered, there was a wonderful display of finished quilts hanging throughout the shop. Nothing like seeing full sized examples to get the creative juices flowing! The staff was very helpful as my wife was looking for patterns and fabrics to work with. They also gave some helpful hints to her that she appreciated. She ended up buying quite a bit so that she could be set for a few new quilts including material for two different color schemes for the same pattern. We live nearly two hours away, so we didn't have any machine issues to remedy or classes to sign up for, but they do offer both services. I put in a $300 order on March 25th and didn't get an order confirmation email. However, the funds showed as pending on my credit card. I still hadn't heard anything on March 27th, so I reached out to Yellow Door Quilt Store on Facebook Messenger. Received a one word reply: Monday. Monday came and went, and I messaged Wednesday asking if they had shipped. Crickets. I messaged again at the end of Wednesday telling them if I didn't hear from them by end of day Thursday, I was filing a dispute with my credit card. Crickets. Thursday afternoon, today, I saw that they had seen my message in Messenger, and asked, No reply? They immediately responded saying they didn't have the inventory and had cancelled the transaction so no dispute was necessary. I looked at my CC and sure enough, it had been refunded the day previous. I asked why they had said they were shipping Monday, and they answered that they were going to CHECK on Monday, and apologized for not telling me Tuesday that they didn't have the inventory. Close your damn web store.

I was able to call ahead and it turned out they were empty when I called, so I was able to pick a different time. The store had a nice, small collection of fabrics and was continuing to unpack. They had bolts from many of the major quilting manufacturers including Moda, both by the yard and as bundles (charm packs, layer cakes, etc). They also had patterns and notions.
