My favorite fabric store! I purchased my Bernina sewing machine here and have not stopped sewing. At a recent class, I made a loose top which fit perfectly and looks like it was purchased. The instructor was patient, very knowledgeable, and created confidence in my abilities to create more of my own clothing. The associates are all friendly and helpful, adding their thoughts if I request their opinion on a color or fabric. This shop has some of the friendliest staff I've met in a fabric store. (And that's saying something!). They also have a large selection of cotton for quilts, arranged in a way that is easy to navigate. Plus they sell and support multiple sewing machine brands which I imagine makes comparison shopping easier. When you visit, don't miss the clearance area. read more

The staff is so friendly and helpful at quilt quarters! Like other small businesses, they are navigating to do business while keeping everyone safe. I was pleased when they took my call and were friendly to let me know their new procedures for customers. At this point in time, they are limiting occupancy to 3 customers at a time. They also offer pick up orders and they will deliver if you need delivery. The store is well stocked and that is an understatement. They have a vast selection of gorgeous fabrics mostly cottons for making quilts. Examples of quilts decorate the store. They have supplies, a line of high end sewing machines, and quilting kits. Shelves were stocked with all sorts of sewing goodies. They have an abundance of holiday and specialty fabrics. In the side room was an assortment of sale fabrics. Prices were not bad running about $12 per yards for 100 percent cotton. There were quilting kits for about $100 that included the fabric. While I was in the store, they spent time helping other customers and answering their question. They are knowledgeable and passionate about sewing and quilting. The store is located in a strip mall across from Kohl's. There is ample parking. I'll be a regular. Just coming in is inspiring! read more

It's really smelly here, like they have a sewage leak or something. The inside is dark and seems not well organized, with not even the cotton and flannel in separate areas... and I found the prices a bit expensive compared to the quilt shops in my state. Whyyyyy did I wait so long to visit this store? It is so great! I was on the hunt for some inspo fabrics for a quilting project for a friend and am SO glad I checked Yelp and found Quilt Quarters! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the manager who personally walked us around the store, answered questions, and explained that the store had recently been taken over by a new owner due to the retirement of the previous owner. Rumor is, the previous owner had been paring down the store offerings in expectation of retirement - and the NEW owners have been diligent in ramping up the offerings since they took it over! There were SO many things to see - full quilt kits, patterns, TONS of fabrics, etc. I could have spent hours in here - but we arrived too close to closing time. I LOVED that the fabrics were sorted in to general 'genres' and also by color - SUPER easy to find something in the color family you want. I also droooooled over the long arm machines, tables, and displays. There are pre-made quilts for sale in the side room, and it appears that they offer classes in that room as well (in non-covid times). I loved that they display a full, completed quilt next to most of their quilt kits so you could SEE what the quilt would look like once finished - and the kits were VERY reasonably priced. I also dug it that there were completed quilts EVERYWHERE to look at and gain inspiration from. Now I want to do all of the projects! I will totally be back again soon. Although I've seen larger fabric stores and quilt shops, this one has a solid inventory of fabric, quilting machines, threads, patterns, and accessories. I browsed around noting that most of the fabric and threads were sorted by color palate. There was a section for holiday quilts/runners including an advent calendar; a section for baby/small kids with whimsical prints; and many types of quilts for everyday interiors or for those quilters who like a challenge. And that challenge is what made my wife make purchases here. She wanted to find something beyond the basic squares and triangles. Not only did they have some finished quilts on display matching her needs, they also had accessories that made it easier to be precise while doing the odd shapes. The most arrogant, self-centered, narcissistic, evil people my wife and I have had the displeasure to deal with, in a very long time. We trusted them to repair my wife's sewing machine. What she got in return was berating and disdain for the brand of machine she has. There was no time spent, educating my wife, for anything she MIGHT have done differently, only carping for her "stupidity". The matter gets worse, when we show up, before closing, only to have the nasty hags in the store tell us that they've shut down early, because the "have places to be". When you're store is supposed to be open until 6pm, because YOU set your hours and posted them publicly as such, I don't give a good goddamn what your extracurricular plans are. You work! I had to make another trip to pick up the machine because of the ineptitude of the women in the store. Never again will my money go to this worthless establishment of haughtiness and guile. A junior high flunk out could do a better job. Take your money elsewhere. This is the last place you should ever think about spending it. read more

I don't even know how to sew, but I am fascinated at the thought of it. So, I stopped in here to find out how much of an uphill battle learning how to operate a machine would be. You see, ever the entrepreneur, I have what I think is a foolproof idea for a little cottage industry - but, it does require the ability to sew - ha! just a minor technicality. I mean, if Blayne made it past the first few rounds of Project Runway, how tough can it be? Well, after the very knowledgeable Miss Terri showed me a few things on a tough little Bernina, I really think I can do this sewing thing. This store is definitely where I am going once I have enough coin to foot the cost of the machine that stole my heart. For one thing, all new purchases of Bernina machines here come with some free "how to" classes. This is good, because the one and only time I ever operated a sewing machine - back in middle school - I put the needle thru my thumb. Before you feel sorry for me *sniff * you should know that such a maneuver does not even hurt at all....until you look at what you've done..then your knees turn to jell-O and you faint :-) Hey, I said at the beginning of this review that I didn't know how to sew!! You shoulda' seen that purse, though! As the name implies, Quilt Quarters has everything you need for quilting projects - and probably just about every other sewing project....tons of shelves of fabric, every machine you can imagine, ranging from $250 to a couple years' college tuition - well, at IUPUI anyway - and all the accoutrements you need from A to Z. read more

I'll be honest. I kind of had low expectations coming to Quilt Quarters. When you think of modern sewing/quilting in Indy, Quilt Quarters never seems to come up in conversation. Turns out, I was a little wrong about the store. Yes, it caters to the more traditional quilter. I found more prints I didn't like than those I did. But I still managed to walk out of the store with quite a bit of fabric that I did like. I just had to look a little harder. All in all, the store has a great selection of fabrics of all kinds -- mostly traditional, but some modern prints -- and there are plenty of patterns to match. I had the worst experience ever in this store. I enter the store looking to buy a embroidery machine for my new business my wife is starting. I inform the sales women that we aren't experts but I'm looking for a quality machine that I can embroidery and stitch. The sales women says "well this should be in your price range" mind you I never stated what price point I was looking for strike 1 so I say "I don't really have a price range which ever one you recommend for what I'm trying to do I'm going to buy" then I decide on a bernette machine which came out to $2100. I hand the sales women the total in cash all $20 and 2 $5 bills and $2 singles. So the sales women states she has to go "check the money in the back" which seems weird but I reply "ok". This women then takes 30-45 minutes to the money which shouldn't take 1/4 of the time. Then she comes out and states "sorry for the wait I had to check every single bill individually" which I reply "no problem I understand" then before I ask "actually does it come with any yarn" she replies "no you should grab some to start but definitely get white and whatever other colors you like I continue shopping when I'm done go to pay for some yarn which came out to 44 dollars which I was going to also pay in cash then the sales women's associate then comes out and says "I will need a copy of your ID for your cash purchase"ok" I go to get the ID I give it to them then the sales associate goes on tells make up a story about it being store policy to make a copy of y ID when cash purchases are made. Which I knew wasn't factual information because I was once again shopping for over an hour and waited for the sales women another 30-45 min while the counted my cash and I seen 3 other cash purchases in the time I was in the store. So I inform them of that and also inform them of there racial insensitivity then the sales women associate then says it is a store policy which I inform her that if that was a store policy it would be posted somewhere in the store just like the signs for Covid and mask through out the store. read more

It's hard to find a good quilt shop anymore but Quilt Quarters lives up to my expectations in all but one area. They have lots of fabrics, patterns, books and even some finished quilts and quilt projects for sale at prices where you would expect them to be for excellent quality fabrics. My only complaint is that the fabric isn't always cut very straight. I've had it be off by as much as 2 inches which can make a big difference in a project. I solve that problem by checking the cut edge before they cut my piece and watching them cut to make sure it is fairly straight. There always been happy to "even up" an edge before cutting. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I'm looking forward to taking a class in the near future. read more
