Check out this massive store! They have a fantastic selection of quilting materials and yarn, plus a big clearance section and plenty of space for classes. I was thrilled to see a nice area dedicated to needle felting, complete with books and tools. The kits for making projects looked great; they're such a fun way to dive into a new hobby. While the prices are a bit higher than some other local yarn shops, the selection is definitely curated based on what they feature. read more

My daughter and I visited this store today in a quest to try to repair a homemade treasured item. We were welcomed by a staff member named Jessica who generously offered to repair this item herself while we were there on-site. Within 20 minutes, she had completely fixed our item and did not charge us for her service. We had a wonderful experience at the store and would highly recommend it to anyone. read more

Cute local store with a wide variety of quilting fabrics and a few garment fabrics. It is a little on the $$$ side if you're used to shopping at big box craft stores. It's in my neighborhood so when I'm looking for something unique I head over to their shop. read more

My wife and I stopped by since she is an accomplished quilter and I make a good driver. The shop is much bigger than it appears from their parking lot. There are rooms beyond the main storeroom including classrooms and rooms that house monster quilting machines: one was 10' long, the other 14'! Wow! The rest of the shop has nooks and rooms filled with fabric and numbered quilts on display. (If you can't find a kit for the displayed quilts near by, just ask the gals at the checkout counter to help you find that number.) In the back rooms, there is also a large area devoted to yarn and wool. And next to that is a discounted fabric room with 60% on our visit. For being a patient husband, the clerks gave me a fun package of Hershey kisses for being a good sport. That was pretty funny! Overall, they have an impressive amount of materials and even some quilting/sewing machines for sale here. The only negative according to my wife is that the displayed quilts were mostly beginner quilts or basic quilts. She wanted something more challenging with unique shapes. So, I'm a cross-stitcher, and I've started wandering around to local cross stitch stores to see who the best in town is (and by "town," I mean "the state of Indiana"). So Always in Stitches was on my to do list. First off, it's more like a Quilting Shop with a cross stitch/yarn habit. It has a lot of square footage in the shop in general, and so those sections take up a decently large amount of the shop, but the actual amounts of supplies are relatively small. There's maybe one wall of patterns, a rack of stitching fabric, and half a wall of notions and supplies. Which is perfectly fine if you're running in for a quick thing, but if you want more expansive or specific selections, you'd probably be happier going elsewhere. That said, it's definitely a big step up from big box stores, so if I needed something and there wasn't a closer cross stitch-specific store, I'd certainly go there. read more

Welcoming! I'm a newbie to restart my sewing passion as I'm retired now. It's been a long time since 4-H. The second I walked in the shop, I was greeted. They explained their new and used machines to me. They suggested emailing their manager about classes in 2023. I did and she responded QUICKLY. Believe it or not, they will loan a machine during any classes you sign up for, since I no longer own a machine. I'm excited to get started and getting this old lady a new machine!! read more

Lots of staff but no one was friendly. I felt like I wasn't welcome at all. Great selection of fabric.

Always in Stitches states on their website that they encourage mask wearing and social distancing. However, when I visited the store today, most of the staff were not wearing masks (I only noted one person.) There was no effort at social distancing. People were clustered around the table with no masks, talking and laughing. I felt very uncomfortable and left. I am shocked at their total disregard for safe practices. Huge shop with a ton of selection. Their clearance room is always full. They have yarn, fabric, cross-stitch, and all the notions to go with each. They sell Janome machines, which I love, and always have someone available to answer questions. I also like that they have machine service and a long arm quilter. read more

Always in Stitches is the only quilt shop in town carrying a ton of modern fabric (and yarn, if that's your thing). Additionally, the women who work there are super nice. I've been a couple of times with Indy Modern Quilt Guild meetings, and they always give us nice goodie bags with a coupon in addition to giving us a good sized space to sew and share. They carry lots of new fabric, and the store layout makes it easy to browse. The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is because it's in Noblesville, a big schlep from Meridian-Kessler. I'm a big fan of their clearance room and always go there first. read more

After buying a very expensive Janome Sewing machine, I discovered that it had a tendency to skip stitches when sewing through multiple thickness of fabric. I took it in for service multiple times during the first year and was told that there was nothing wrong with it. Having been a seamstress for many years, I became very frustrated. I was belittled and made to feel incompetent. On my last visit to Always in Stitches, I was assured that if I wanted to trade for an upgraded model, I would get close to my purchase price. Apparently that policy changed en route to the store. I was only to receive a fraction of the purchase price to put toward an upgraded model. Needless to say, I stormed out very upset by the runaround I had received for an entire year. I took my business to a competitor who not only gave me a good deal on an upgraded machine, but offered my trade in at my full purchase price. Always in Stitches obviously has an issue with their customer service, because in this case they lost my business as well as my seamstress friends. read more

The staff are always friendly when I've been there. Which is not often because of the drive, but a group of stitchers I'm in meets at the Noblesville Library once a month, and that's just down the road from here, so whenever I go to the get togethers, we usually end up going to this shop. Didn't give 5 stars as some items are more expensive here than at my local shop. read more

I just went to Always in Stitches to exchange some unwound yarn and the girl at the register told me they do not take back any yarn (even unwound) they won't even exchange it. Needless to say I won't be shopping there anymore! I just wanted to exchange it not even asking for a refund. I have let all my knitting friends know that shop there and they are shocked as well! read more
